"I'll be right with you!" She quickly finished the rest of the shipment, coming around the corner to greet her customer. "Hello! What can I do for ya?"
~*~*~
It had been a while since he had gone book shopping, let alone for any manga, or manhwa as it was called in Korean. Hyeon had a few he kept up with but he was more likely to end up reading online then get a physical copy simply thanks to habits from when he was busy in the Kpop industry. However his littlest cousins had started to express an interest and he figured he could look for something more appropriate for thirteen year olds to read.
He had heard about the manga shop from Terry, who had a list of places to check out himself, and on his day off ended up walking to the shop. When he opened the door he looked around in curiosity, hearing the worker call in greeting as he moved further in. “Hello.” He greeted back with a nod of his head and a polite smile. “I’m looking for some manga that my cousins would enjoy, but I’m not entirely sure what might be appropriate for them to read as they are thirteen.”
~*~*~
"Oh! I think I know just the thing!"
Holi motioned for the man to follow her, noting that he was kinda cute. "So, we have hunter x hunter here and shaman king….I'm pretty sure those should be around the thirteen year old level." She picked out volumes one through four from each, holding them in her hand. "There is also Soul eater, and maaaaybe Dragon Ball depending on what your restrictions are for them." She knew the later series had some mild nudity and a hefty amount of violence as well.
"There's also studio Ghibli. They don't make manga, but their anime is pretty good for a younger audience. Also have some valuable hidden meanings too." She owned all of studio ghiblis works with her current favorite being a tie between Howls Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Ponyo, and Nausicaa of the valley of the wind. Princess Mononke was a close one as well. She did laugh just a bit since one of the white moon senshi she met was named Nausikaa.
~*~*~
Hyeon followed after her, nodding in understanding as she started to list off various titles. “Some of those are familiar to me and I can always consult with their parents for some of it.” He said as he looked at the volumes she had in hand. “I’m sure they would enjoy the anime as well. I don’t suppose you know if any dvd’s have any Korean translations for subtitles? They are still getting used to English and while I or their parents could help with the Manga, movies can be a bit fast.”
~*~*~
Holi gave an enthusiastic nod, "Yes! I think we even have some Korean dramas they might like.~" she continued on, "All of the anime we sell have a very large variety of subtitles. Korean is a very popular one, but I will definitely double check to make sure~" she grabbed a couple more anime and manga, making her way back towards the front. "Anything else I could help you with? Maybe something for yourself?"
~*~*~
Hyeon gave a relieved smile when she said they did have Korean subtitles, he knew the boys were trying hard to learn the language of the country but it was tricky at times, made worse when it was something they had to read fast. “Do you know if you have any of the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken novels? I haven’t been able to buy the latest one yet.” He asked as he once again followed her, though this time to the front. He had picked up the series a little while ago and had been enjoying it so far.
~*~*~
“Yep we do!” She placed most of what she had on the counter and raced to the isekai section to find the latest version of Slime, coming back with the latest novel and the one before it. “Have you seen the Anime yet?! I'm super excited for season three whenever that comes out~”
~*~*~
“I have indeed. I’m looking forward to season 3 as well.” Hyeon nodded with a smile. “And I’m wondering if they will ever end up giving him an actual love interest in any of the novels, the manga, or the anime.” If it stayed more of a found family type deal he would be fine with that but he could easily admit to being curious if they would end up giving an official pairing or not.
~*~*~
"You know I think with the fact that his actual love is gone, it'll be more famy oriented. They placed too much importance on her death as well as her significance to Slime-sama. But that's just my current theory. “
~*~*~
“Hmm, not sure if I agree since while they called her his ‘Fated Person’ that didn’t necessarily mean in a love way.” He said with a small shrug. “If they keep it the way it is I’m more than fine with it. But it would be nice too if they end up showing the ‘Fated Person’ was never meant to mean love.” He pulled out his wallet to pay for the merchandise.
~*~*~
"That is very true, never thought to look at it that way~" once she had the merch in the bag, she took his payment. "Thank you so much for stopping by!" Holi gave him his receipt once the transaction was complete, "stop by anytime you like!"
~*~*~
Hyeon gave a smile as he took the bag. "Thank you very much for the help." He said then walked out with a wave.
