The Charity Benefit (9) : A number of the local businesses in the area have come together to organize a charity benefit. In addition to a silent auction, there is also an evening charity ball. The community has been wanting to raise funds to fix up a few public areas for some time now and in the spirit of the Star Festival, these businesses have donated several prizes to the event to encourage people to attend. Some old warehouses and estates have been cleared out by the city, so there’s a wide variety of strange antiques and hidden treasures. As one of the local residents you have been kindly invited to attend! Formal attire is encouraged but only required if you plan to attend the Ball. It’s a good opportunity to dress up, meet new people, and maybe go home with something neat. Who knows what you can find to trade with Almadel, anyway? And, he’s always back in town for the Star Festival.
Players can roleplay any part of the Charity Benefit, including but not limited to mingling, dancing, enjoying the buffet, or leaving with a treasure they acquired There is no ORP set up for this but players can create group RPs if they like!/quote]
Being rich did give him a few obligations if he was trying to be an upstanding, charitable citizen and not an absolute a*****e or yet another contribution to how bad capitalist tendencies had taken this country by the horns.
One of the most obvious ones was charity. Donating money, especially, redistributing some of the money that effectively grew itself to people who could actually use it. Needless to say, the concept of a charity ball directly intended to benefit the city caught Michelangelo's attention without them really needing to try. Local, easy for him to contribute and see proof of what it would benefit, and also it was a ball. That meant one very clear thing.
Hot people.
Maybe Michelangelo could afford to be less shallow--and he'd like to make the argument he wasn't, he just had eyes--but for this? He didn't care. An event like this was bound to draw eye candy, and maybe from the segments of Destiny City's society that had models and athletes and actors like some of the ones in that movie that was filming locally. There were some considerable pieces of eye candy in that one--
Wait. Was that-- It was. It was hard to miss that red hair among everything else, but also that build. Michelangelo popped his lips as he leaned back and watched one Ignacio Araya head to the snack table and pluck up a couple of plates, no doubt for him and that dancer husband of his (Richard Bell, was it? Michelangelo didn't really keep up on celebrity gossip, but that wasn't really a hard name to remember--) Briefly, Michelangelo considered saying hello, but after lifting a hand in a wave and receivinng a kind one back, he opted against it. The actor was there with a date. He had the confidence to, sure, but Michelangelo also didn't want to make a nuisance of himself for some random flirtation with a handsome actor. He didn't want to upset any relaxed or happy vibes.
Especially considering the apparent war here--
Who else--
Holy height, Batman.
Michelangelo stared up at a man who was easily clearing six feet and then some. Was that why he was buff? Had to be to carry that much body around, he supposed. He ran a hand through his hair and straightened out his back, pondering if he should approach this guy, instead. Of course, he was fairly sure this guy could bench press him and then lift him straight to the moon. Not that he wasn't curious, but-- oh. There was another tall person with him with long hair and another shorter one with curly hair and what looked like a nervous smile on her face.
Maybe best to leave it alone, but if he was going to do that, what was the point of coming to a party without some fun conversation at least?
Was the tall guy looking at him?
He approached.
"You look familiar. Do I know you?"
"I'm not sure you do," Michelangelo chuckled, "but you could."
The tall guy shrugged. "Alright, it's Zot."
"Michelangelo."
Well, the conversation came to him, he supposed.
