Name: Minke [Pronounced Mink] Race: 1/2 Wind, 1/2 Geian Height: 5'1" Gende: Male Marital Status: Single Class: Unemployed Location: Matori
Clothing Style: Light and breezy, Minke prefers shirts that are easy to remove when he wishes to jump into the water. Despite how shy he is about just about everything else, his own body is not one of them, as the majority of his shirts easily show off his chest down to his waist. Physical Description: Swimmer's body, he is fit from the constant swimming and diving that he does. Likes: The ocean. Animals. Listening to traveler stories. Dislikes: Crowds. Meeting people he doesn't know well. Hobbies: Swimming. Collecting seashells. Searching for aquatic animals. Skills: Holding his breath. Fears/Insecurities: Having to have conversations with strangers.
Theme Song:Ocean Man - Ween Base Traits: Nervous. Quiet. Apologetic. Personality: Minke has always been a rather quiet boy. Even as a baby, he didn't cry much and would stare blankly at whoever was looking at him. It took him a long time to warm up to even his parents enough to start smiling at them. Though he also didn't laugh often. Not unless an animal was near him or you put his tiny feet into water. Than he became quite animated, splashing around or flailing his arms to reach the creature. Now much older, he hasn't changed too much. People were just never something he was ever fully comfortable around. When approached by someone he doesn't know, Minke goes into himself, trying to shrink or hide behind something in such a way that it doesn't look like he's hiding. With some effort, you can force conversation out of him, though awkward and stiff it will be. He'd much rather listen than talk, so if you have some stories to tell him, he'll sit down and listen with an eager ear. For as long as you don't ask his opinion about something. The only time he's been known to get animated is in defense of a creature, for he believes everything, from the biggest to the smallest, has a right to be here. And if you are going to kill something, you should make it a point to use as much of it as you can, or donate it back to the wilderness for other animals to use. Minke himself does not eat meat, but doesn't shame others for doing so. He simply is too sensitive of a person to do it. He always feels quite upset afterwards for a while. Like he was the one who betrayed all the creatures in the world personally.

❇History❇ ~~~~~
Up To Prentice Elolaya was a young Wind woman doing as most of her tribe did. She was traveling around, never staying in one place for longer than a few months. For the first 16 years of her life, she did this within Sauti, following her parents around as they moved to make the most of what little the land provided for them. But after a while she grew tired of seeing the same scenery over and over. She knew there were other lands out there, all very different from her own. She wanted to see how the other people of the world lived and what their wilderness looked like. She longed to see the giant trees of Jauhar. The miles of desert in Oba. The snows of Zena. So after much packing and planning, she set off on her own, starting with Jauhar and sweeping her way back east, where she boarded a ship to cross the ocean to Belrea. She intended to sweep all along the continent, than go down south to Po'lua. But something else happened that she hadn't planned for. She met a farmer named Ballas and fell in love.
Ballas was the youngest of a group of five kids. Two of them had moved on to work in the bigger cities, not interested in continuing the work of agriculture. The other three had stayed, intending to all work together as a unit working the land. The eldest of the three who stayed back was already married with two small children, while the second youngest appeared to be on the way to marriage herself. She was being courted by a neighbor's boy, for the past year or so. Ballas was content to work the land, ignoring the interest anyone was giving him.
Until Elolaya.
At first, he wasn't too interested. His parents had offered her a spare room to stay in while she experienced their part of Belrea. Unlike most people who were interested in the stranger, he avoided her, clearly not interested in meeting anyone. It wasn't the first, and certainly wouldn't be the last, time his parents had offered a room to a traveler. Ballas wished they were a little more cautious, but what could you do? They were the adults, they made the rules. He put himself into his work to vent off any frustrations over it.
Elolaya became intrigued by this quiet boy her own age and made it a point to try and talk to him. She soon lost track of time in her task, managing to make him open up little by little to her. Over time, they grew closer until one day they realized they had feelings for each other. And that she'd been living with them for over two years, without any thoughts of moving on. They were marred soon after, his parents wondering why it'd taken them so long to notice something everyone else did. A year later, Minke and his twin sister were born, both favoring the pale skin of their mother with the pale hair and eyes of their father.
For ten years, the family was happy. No more children were born and Elolaya took to motherhood like she did everything else, with enthusiasm and hardwork. But as the kids grew older and needed her less and less, she became restless. The wanderlust was still in her veins. Minke, also, seemed to share this, though not quite to the extend his mother did. Minke enjoyed the farm work and being outdoors. He'd spend hours watching the wildlife, from the smallest creature to the large, be they scaled, feathered, or furred, he loved them all. Especially tales of the creatures in the ocean. The family still hosted travelers and some would come from settlements that sat next to the ocean. Minke would shyly ask them for stories and descriptions.
Between mother and son, Ballas decided to make a decision. With his two siblings and their families watching over the land, he moved his family across the ocean to Matori, where Minke could enjoy the ocean to his heart's content. The twins also benefited from being around people with skin tones that weren't as drastically different from their own. Though not the cause of the boy being quiet, Minke always felt incredibly uncomfortable and self-conscious about his lighter tone.

❇Relationships❇ ~~~~~
Family
Ballas :: Father, Geian, 40-50 Ballas can sometimes be a bit hard on his only son. Having grown up in a large family, working hard on the farm since he was able to walk, he tends to think the best way to help anyone is with a rougher touch. If you are afraid of something, the best cure is to face it, no matter how scared you are or how much you want to run from it. Personal problems should be kept personal and overcome by yourself. For Minke, this has been anything but helpful, leaving him to feel anxious sometimes around his father and try to keep his fears and anxieties to himself.
Elolaya :: Mother, Wind, 40-50 Minke's mother is a bit of a flighty spirit. Not enough that he feels she is never around, but enough that she will spend weeks and sometimes months off exploring some part of the world. She does try to balance this with her family life, only doing this once, maybe twice a year if she doesn't plan on going too far.
Meine :: Twin Sister, Wind/Geian, Future Quest Between his two parents, it's no wonder the only person Minke really bonded with growing up was his twin. Meine is everything he wishes he could be. Confident. Social. Smart. She never has problems talking to strangers. In fact, she goes out of her way to do just that, trying to drag her brother along with her to help him see that other people are not as terrifying as they seem to him.
Friend
Elias :: Leaf/Ice, Prentice An old childhood neighbor who lived a 30 minute walk down the beach until the family moved into the manor. Minke always had trouble getting to know Elias, finding him far too energetic and talkative to keep up with. It wasn't until the two were older that they finally began to bond very slowly. While Meine was off in Belrea, visiting their uncle, Elias filled that empty spot left behind by his sister's absence.
