The Reservoir (4) : The Destiny City Reservoir opened about two years ago and is an easy escape from the big city. It’s a five minute drive outside of the Eastern side of town and features clear water and sandy beaches--although, the sand here is notorious for squeaking when you step on it. It’s a hot spot for all fun summer activities, but it’s been in the news for mysterious reports of some strange, aquatic monster. Some accounts say they’ve spotted a twenty foot long, snake like creature capable of rearing a long neck high above the water. It’s hard to tell if the videos are doctored, but there are too many rumors to dismiss easily. Something strange might be lurking deep in the water. Or it’s just a hoax to get people out to the Reservoir!

But…Sometimes, people feel like something is grabbing their ankle, even if they are just wading in the shallow end. In the deeper parts of the water, it gets a little more intense: something has been said to grab onto ankles and pull. People have been warned about dangerous pranks, but so far no one has been caught. In the shallow end, anyone unfortunate enough to be targeted may feel themselves being knocked off their feet and tugged into the water; anyone in deep water may feel a firm grip on their ankle, tugging them lower and lower. Somehow, anyone it targets is freed--either by wriggling and fighting, or because someone intervenes and pulls the would-be victim up. No one has drowned in the lake. Yet. It's impossible to see who, or what, is doing this, but it usually gives up after one failed attempt. Usually.

While you may find yourself harassed by the supposed cryptid, or see something visibly odd in the distance, you cannot take any pictures of the creature. Who knows if you’re even being attacked by the cryptid–or just another youma?

Dawn was spending time at the new reservoir with her foster family - minus her twin brother Davie who had wandered off (with permission of their foster mother, Laurie Brox, or as all the kids called her D.D.) towards the Caves nearby, he had heard there was some unusual flora in there and he just had to have photos of it and to study it.. totally not usual for him.

Right now, she was putting on sunblock and was thinking about making her way to the water. On a day like today, (when it was blazing hot) the water would feel really nice. She began heading towards it, after telling D.D. that was she was going to, of course, and winced as the sand squeaked under her feet.

She made it to the water and began to swim, but as she did, she stood up in the waist deep water. Something was not right. She didn't know what it was... the temperature of the water, was off, and the water felt a bit slimy. The waves seemed to come up slightly odd. She looked around, a perplexed look on her face.

She heard D.D. calling her, asking if something was wrong. She didn't even look at her, as she waved her off, a terrified look on her face She was watching something in the water. It seemed like a really large eel, and she was about to call the lifeguard to take a look. Suddenly, the tail of the thing wrapped around her ankles and pulled her under the water, as she yelped.

Dawn was suddenly released from the youma when someone attacked it. She was grateful but hoped they wouldn't be hurt on her account. She returned to the surface, to get some air and found everyone in chaos, except of course her foster family - as always, they were a tight knit group that always wanted help everyone and protect each other. Dawn briefly wondered if they had latent magic in their blood. Her mind brushed the thought away, as she nipped out of their sight and into a hidden area and transformed. At her feet she saw a Star Charm - no time for that now!

She then jumped back into the water to help her new-found friend and physically the monster - unfortunately her magic was more of healing powers- and that wouldn't help fight the monster- though it could help them afterwards.

After a good thrashing the monster was dusted.

Giclas pulled herself out of the water, her fuku soaked. ugh, I could use a good book right now. She frowned.

She waited for her new-found friend to come out of the water. The least Giclas could do for the person was to use her power to heal them a little. Giclas's magic was pretty weak, but at least she could a bruise.

"Hey, there, thank you for helping me." She hailed the other girl. "I am Sailor Giclas of Jasmine. Life hails you, and I celebrate life. Please allow me to heal you a little in return."

Giclas shrugged. "I have three uses of my power that can basically heal a bruise or two. I believe I have one on my ankle - which I should probably leave, or it will look suspicious ... and one on my arm which I could use one use. Do you need it more though?"

Giclas nodded and thanked her again. Then she ran off to power down and return to her family.
