The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it.
Marialite loved the summer sky. Every year, around this time, there seemed to be a lovely, colorful meteor shower, and it made her feel warm. She wondered, sometimes, if there were sights like this from her Wonder, wherever it was, out in space. As Eleusis, she had never been--never cared much for it. But she thought about it sometimes, now.
A soft sigh passed her lips, and she felt a Page aura somewhere nearby. Good. That was better than standing around uselessly reminiscing. She stayed on rooftops, searching--aura sense wasn't precise, but it'd get her close enough, she supposed.
"Hellooo~" she sing-songed. "Little Page! Come out and plaaay~"

Necro sighed as he watched the meteor shower. It was so pretty… And he'd never seen a shower with these colors before… Was this normal? Or were these like the fireflies? He wondered if he could see any from his wonder.
Oh well, no point wondering.
He felt another aura and paused, waiting for the backhanded comment about his uniform, his hair. Something.
It never came.
Instead, another voice called out and Necro felt his stomach drop. This was not Celadonite. This was trouble.
"Captain Marialite~" She singsonged her introduction, and then she bounced a few more steps forward to get into the Page's space. She twirled her knife.
"Why don't you tell me what your name is, handsome? You're a Saturn Page, right? I don't know many of those." She was pretty sure, at least. She still remembered enough about knights to recognize colors, symbols. She casually moved to stand in front of him.
"What're you doing out alone? You poor Pages...so totally defenseless, with your little pathetic weapons and no magic at all."

Definitely not Celadonite.
Necro flinched when the Captain popped up in his face, but stilled when he saw the glint of the knife.
'Be safe. Don’t do anything stupid.'
The words rang loudly in his ears as he tried to steel his nerves. "...Necromanteion." He said, with a small nod. "Saturn Page, yeah." Necro gave a small shrug. "I was uh... Just out and about, I guess? Just checking on things when the meteor shower started. I guess I got distracted." Stupid. "I wasn't looking for trouble." Again, he flinched. His fang wasn't going to do much, and she definitely knew that. "It... could be worse? I could be a civilian and have nothing." He really should stop talking. He was practically one already.
Marialite laughed. Oh, he was so cute! And so stupid!
"Honestly, I think whatever cosmic force makes Pages is sort of a jerk," she said, like she was confiding in him. "I mean, really. Gives us these terrible little weapons, and turns us loose on the world." She reached up, and pressed the blade her knife to his cheek--not quite hard enough to draw blood, but close.
"It's just so pathetic, don't you think? And so cruel. We're practically fodder for the fire."
She shook her head, and sighed.
"Really, the people who brought me into the Negaverse did me an incredible favor, saving me from all that nonsense. And I can't corrupt you, but I think I might help you out another way. Would you like that, little Page? Some help from someone who's been throguh ti all, and knows what she's talking about? I promise, I do."

Again he shrugged slightly. "They are at a bit of an unfair disadvantage... Yeah." When the blade was pressed to his cheek, Necro jerked just enough that a thin line was left. "I've seen Lieutenant's with better weapons."
He swallowed thickly, before she snagged his attention. We??? "..What.. What were you?" Was it smart making small talk with a Negaverse Captain? No. Probably not. Was it a possibly desperate attempt to not get his ask kicked?
Yes. Yes it was.
"You know... I think I'm good, thanks. Uh... Thank you for the offer though. Not the first time I've gotten it but uh.. No? No thanks." Not today. Not ever.
"I'm so glad you agree," Marialite said, and she moved her knife away from his cheek, tapping the flat of the blade against it and smearing the blood from the cut she'd left.
"I was a Cosmos Page, once upon a time," Marialite sighed. "So stupid. So weak. So Pathetic. But people helped me. Showed me a better way. And now I'm here."
His refusal made her eyes flash, though, and her smile went from playful to vicious. "Oh, so rude," she said, "Rejecting help when it's offered. I really don't like that," she said.
She drove one knife into the center of his chest.
The other went into his gut. She used them as leverage to lift him up, and throw him off the roof, and smiled the entire time.
"Bye! I promise, this is a much quicker death than someone else might give you!" She chirped, waving after him after he fell.
She turned on her heel, not bothering to watch and see what happened when he landed. If the fall didn't kill him, he would bleed out. There was simply no universe in which he got out of this alive.
She whistled, striding off into the night.

"Oh." He said softly. Necro wondered what her name had been, who she had been. The Page fixed her with a look. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be ru-"
Oh, indeed.
He sucked in a breathe, when the first blade sank in. But a pained noise escaped him, when the second went in. Necro grabbed at one of Maria's wrists, though it did little to stop her.
Necro blinked down at the knives in a mixture of confusion, surprise and horror. He should have expected this honestly, and after so long... Well...
His body jerked as she hauled him up and jerked the blades out. Then his world spun as he fell. His body slammed against something, possibly a fire escape before slamming to the ground below. Maria had said something, but Necro didn't hear it, not with the ringing in his ears at the moment. Necro sucked in another shaky breathe, staring up at the sky where the meteors continued to shower overhead.
He might not have been looking for trouble, but trouble had certainly found him. And now, he was paying for it.
