Yukio wasn't really a reader of manga or the shoujo and shounen magazines that ran some manga series. He was, however, quite fond of the music and musical gear magazines out of Japan. Being fluent in the Japanese language, both written and verbal, meant he had no trouble reading them; he'd grown up bilingual thanks to his Japanese mom, now living out in San Francisco with his computer-scientist dad.

So it was with this in mind that he wandered into Totoro's, a downtown shop that sold manga and Japanese magazines. He hadn't been in here in a long time; everything was laid out differently, and the primary focus seemed to be on manga. Understandable, with manga's popularity, but he'd been hoping to find the magazines he was looking for, and he wasn't sure if the place carried them any longer. Looking at the magazine rack, he could only see the shoujo and shounen magazines.

There was a girl at the counter, so maybe she knew. "Excuse me," he said as he walked over to her, "do you still carry music magazines like Cure and Mix? I can't seem to find them anywhere."

Yukio couldn't help but smirk just ever so slightly. Nothing like a little name check to make one's day. "Yeah, I am," he nodded. "I live in the area, so I figured I'd check you guys out. It's been awhile since I've been in here."

He dutifully followed the clerk to the back corner of the shop, where he saw the magazines he was looking for. "Oh great, thank you so much. I should really get a subscription, but the postal rates from Japan are killer bad. At least for the magazines to arrive in anything resembling one piece. Besides, it gets me out of the house." Not to mention it got his face out there. He was learning a lot from Abbey.

"Is there any way I could get notification when the next issue of both of these come in? I can give you my email address." With a gentle snort, he shook his head. "I'm so sorry, where are my manners? I didn't catch your name. It would be rude to not know the name of the person who helped me so much."

Yukio nodded, giving her one of his almost-smiles at the compliment. He rarely smiled, but it was nice to get the acknowledgement.. "Nice to meet you too, Holi. Yeah, I'll take a card – you can have mine as well." Rummaging through his pants pockets, he pulled out a pair of business cards, very happy that Abbey had got him the information to get them made and convinced him to do it in the first place. "Here. One for the store, and one for you, since you've been so helpful to me." On the front was a picture of DJ Buster on stage from behind, an audience in front of him illuminated with blue spotlights; on the back was his PO Box and email address, along with his name.

He removed his hat – his favorite, the old leather flight helmet hat with the goggles – and studied it. "I'm glad you like my hats. I have quite the collection of them, but this one's my favorite. I usually wear it when I'm off on an adventure, like I am today." Yukio put the hat back on. "I guess I cosplay as a DJ," he said with a quirk of an eyebrow and a faint smirk. "No, I technically don't do cosplay except for that. Do you?"

When Holi mentioned doing a show here at the shop, his eyebrow went up again. "You know, that's a great idea. I'd love to spin music for your customers, and your staff. Are you the person in charge of that? If not, give them my card for all the contact info." This was a complete bonus: potentially getting a whole new audience. And it sounded fun.

Yukio looked at the picture on the phone. "Nice cosplay," he nodded, even though he didn't know for sure who the character was. It seemed well-crafted and like it suited Holi. And it looked like she was having fun with it, which was the most important thing.

"You have a Youtube channel? Here," he said, taking one of the store cards and handing it to her, "write it on the back of this so I don't forget. I definitely want to check it out. My Youtube's on my card – I sometimes get technical on it, but mostly it's music, my mixes and sounds and like that." He gave her one of his patented wry little almost-smiles. "I do a lot of sound work, generating effects and stuff for other DJs to mix in with their work. I enjoy sharing what I do."

"You don't have to call me Mister," Yukio smiled his little half-smile. "Buster will do." He took the card back, studied the written information (as one does with a business card) and pocketed it. "DDR would be fun, actually. Maybe we can work something out."

He thought for a bit; maybe there were some manga out there that featured DJs…That was a question for another visit to Totoro's though. And he would definitely be back. "No, I think this is all I need at the moment. Thank you so much," he nodded a bow, "you've been so very helpful. I'll be back for sure – and let me know if you can set up the subscription thing for these magazines. You have my email address."

With that, he turned to leave. "I'll see you later, Holi," he said with a wave as he left the shop.
