Disappearances (14) : People are missing. Maybe they’re people you know, maybe you’ve just heard about it on the news. They’re just disappearing. In front of you one second, gone the next, sucked into some between-space. Into some hole that flickers out of sight once it’s swallowed them up. Maybe you got sucked in–right into a strange strange black expanse, with no access to anyone else or any exits. The pull would have been magnetic, almost unavoidable. Some might escape, but maybe you didn’t. Electronics don't work and characters cannot power down. There’s no way to reach the outside world. You might feel the sensation of creatures following you, you might run into obstacles or strange environments in the darkness. While you are in this strange location you may feel hungry but will not starve to death; you may feel tired but you will not need to sleep. Maybe you were lucky and got sucked in with someone. Maybe you’re trapped there and run into someone and team up. One thing is for sure, though–once you’re here, you can’t get out on your own. Characters who get sucked into the strange between-space will not be able to participate in the ORP immediately but will have an opportunity to join partway through so if this is something you’re interested in, please keep your eye on that! Morpheus had found things had been really odd recently. Things had been going missing and he had heard rumors that people had been going missing as well. He shook his head, he had seen things going missing and he had gone to see the merchant. He had done a lot of things this summer. He had gotten a lot done lately. He had seen a number of things this summer. It wasn't over yet either. He had learned some things after being beaten up yet again. It was something to think about. He had a lot to think about lately.

Dari (cat form) came rushing down the street, crying. A tall, young man about 21, stepped out a house in concern and picked him up cradling him. "Dari, Dari what is it?" Dari could barely talk. "I was playing with the foster children at the group home down the street -" Drew chuckled. "You, playing? With the less fortunate?" With this Dari got angry. "Daddy, it's not funny, I was, and this is important." "Okay, okay. So, calm down and tell me what happened, before people start freaking out that I have a cat over here talking to me." Dari glared at him. "They just suddenly vanished, through rifts in the air - like a monster's talons ripping a hole in reality and then closing afterwards." Drew's jaw dropped. "What? Take me straight there!"

Morpheus followed along in the shadows he didn't jump out and greet the pair but he was curious about these disappearances and what they meant for the city. He had been to the rift with his court members and they had found some strange things. He had also seen objects go missing, so what did that mean for the people. Did the people and objects end up in the same place? Or different places? Were both lost forever? There were so many questions and not a lot of answers at this time. He wanted the answers though. So he followed.

At the Foster Home, Drew presented his badge, he was Officer Drew Bones, he had heard the screaming, and had made his way over, to see if he could help. Along the way, he had heard mention that some children had vanished. Was it true? As he did a civilian police investigation, Dari also quietly did a magical investigation... during which they discovered one of the missing children's lost Star Charms. At one point Dari whispered to Drew, "We are not alone. There is a Dark Mirror Senshi watching." Were they the cause of these disappearances? As more and more Senior Officers took over the investigation, Drew and Dari stepped out of the open, and Drew transformed. As Eternal Sailor Etamin of Hieroglyphics, and Darius Ammun, they leaped the rooftops. still out of sight, of the civilians, but within sight of the Dark Mirror, just to get their attention.

It was pretty clear that the senshi had sensed him so Morpheus came out and raised his hands and said "I mean no harm, I was just passing by and looking into some strange things that have been happening this summer." He gestured around him. "I was walking one day and objects were disappearing left and right." He looked at the pair and asked "Have you two noticed anything strange going on this star festival?" He asked his tone serious he wanted to know what was going on and why it was going on there was no reason why the city should be disappearing bit by bit.

Etamin frowned. The DMS seemed to be telling the truth. Dari hissed and his back was arched. Etamin petted for a moment. "Calm, yourself, Darius. I don't believe this Dark Mirror had anything to do with the disappearances." He turned to the Dark Mirror frowning once more. "Yes, many things are happening, as they do at every Major Holiday in Destiny City, once in a while on days like Valentine's Day, more often on Star Fest and always and the most extreme on both Halloween and Christmas. Indeed, I have been studying this phenomenon for several years now." Etamin frowned even harder now, if that was possible. "Though I am hesitant to share my research with a member of Chaos." He flicked his eyebrows upwards, pointedly.

Morpheus sighed deeply and then said "I've noticed that as well, I have to wonder if rifts don't open at certain times that line up with the holidays causing more chaos energy to fill the city and therefore causing nothing to ever be normal in this city during the holidays. It would be nice for a change to celebrate Christmas or Halloween without being attacked by a gingerbread man or a jack o lantern." He shrugged and waited for the senshi to make his choice he was just grateful that the senshi hadn't beaten him senseless for following the pair. "The choice is yours, I'm grateful you listened to my request at all rather than just attacking." He had faced a number of rude people this summer and expected to face a number more of rude people before the summer was out and fall arrived in the city. "So if you don't want to share that is fine and I'll be on my way and leave you be." He had no reason to lie to the pair. He would leave them in peace if they didn't wish to talk with him any more.

Etamin noted though there was ... certain darkness to this guy... there was a certain sensibility to him. "Alright, if you can guarantee, that the information won't be used to hurt anyone.... meet me by the West Street Bridge, at 9:00 tomorrow night. Come alone." Etamin then quieted a protesting Dari. "Shh. Dari. It will be ok."
