Syaa 1 Syaa was busily collecting seeds and cuttings from a wilder part of Jauhar. He loved the air out here, saturated with moisture and baked by the tropical heat. Just lovely. He figured he could spend his whole life between here and Matori and be quite content with the occassional foray elsewhere.
He was just extracting seeds from a large hard pod and placing them in a small leather pouch with a paper label.
He breathed deeply, then his stomach growled and he smiled to himself. Lunch time!

It wasn't often that Yazeed left his younger brother and sister behind. Even when he trained he usually had one eye on his baby sister for her safety, and the other on his brother to make sure he wasn't up to no good. The life of the eldest child weighed heavy some days, but Yazeed took to it easily enough. Today, however, he'd purposefully left the two of them alone together to see how things went. He would likely come back to a disaster, but it would be a good lesson for the pair. With the family behind him, the great hulking mass of a teenager slung a pack over his shoulder and moved further into the jungle. In truth he hadn't intended on finding anyone in these parts. He'd purposefully gone that way to avoid others so he could relax on his own for a bit, but seeing another hybrid wasn't an upsetting sight. If anything it was a curious one; especially since the other was so obviously male. "Hey there, friend," Yazeed said with a slow smile. He may have been massive, but his speech held an easy cadence. "Just passing through so no worries. Didn't want to startle you."

Syaa looked up curiously, it wasn't all that often that he didn't pay enough attention to his ears but the seeds must have fully captured his attention this time to miss his visitor. Syaa was tall but lanky where this fellow was massive, and quite as striking as himself. He tilted his head sort of like a bird. "Well met stranger thank you for the warning, I was a little absorbed in my work. What brings you out this way, and would you care to share a meal? I'm just about to cook and I found some fresh herbs earlier." Someone his size likely ate a lot just like he did. Fuel was always needed. Syaa pulled the tie to the pouch and tucked the bag away. "I must say it is refreshing to meet another hybrid once in a while." There were more and more around it seemed, it brought much gladness to his heart.

Yazeed gave a lazy smile. "Well, if you're offering it feels rude to say no." Besides, it wasn't as if he had any pressing matters to attend to. "Is there anything I can do to help out?"He lowered the satchel over his shoulder onto the ground and took in the scene before him. Just kind what kind of work was he doing out here on his own? "Don't see much of them? My family travels so much that I can't say the same. I think it's always kind of refreshing to get back to Chibale and see full blooded Aishans." There was his mother, of course, and the Aishans they met along the road though it was never really the same. "My name's Yazeed. Is there something I can call you?"

Pleased that his random visitor seemed friendly enough to stay, Syaaryn started getting the meal ready. Stew was always a hit and he got a fire going and filled a pot with a little water. "Not as often as I would like, but its getting more frequent." He also spent an inordinate amount of time away from people in general so that probably had something to do with it. But his work took him everywhere and usually where people were not. "I do love seeing them all in a group, Aishans are so graceful and powerful looking...and I kinda like it when there are people as tall as me." "My bad! My name is Syaaryn."

"Well, in that case I have a younger brother as well; you might see him passing through here too." Yazeed's smile softened just thinking of him. Cat could be a brat, but his adventurous spirit was a thing of wonder. Like a storm tearing through the world. "Smaller than me, lighter skinned too with hair like a riverbed. If you see him he's likely up to some kind of trouble so you've been warned." He laughed. For a moment he was just content observing the area around them while the other hybrid worked that Yazeed didn't realize he'd been spoken to again. When he did he gave an 'o' and nodded. "It is nice being able to go through doorways without hitting my head. And I'm Yazeed. What kind of work do you do?"

Syaa 4 "Yes tall doorways are always fun." He grinned. "Well I am an elementalist that specializes in plants." He took a seed out of his belt pouch and placed it in his palm. He sent a zing of magic into it and fed it steadily until the seed had germinated and vined out until it budded and bloomed pretty blue flowers. "An example." He loved doing this trick. "I can also boost the health of quite a few plants around me and control great thorny vines when needed, but I prefer the peaceful aspects. I collect and grow all kinds of plants and I enjoy every minute of it." There was always something new each day, either a new bloom, or a fruit or seed pod developing.

"An...elementalist...?" Yazeed hadn't heard the term before, even in his travels across Tendaji with the family. Was it something specific to Jauhar or something he'd learned from Belreans...? "Oooh. Well now, isn't that lovely." His eyes widened for a moment in shock before settling into amused appreciation. "That's really impressive. A talent like that could be helpful to a great many healer or even a down on their luck farmer." The hybrid could only imagine how helpful that would be in areas where plant growth was scarce. "Have you always been able to do that?"

"It is rather useful, I'm still a beginner though, I think it will get much stronger with time. No, I haven't always been able to do it, though the love of green things has always been there. I used to get quite deep into the forest looking for new plants and seeds to add to my collection, I can go even further now." "At first all I could do was make a seed sprout, but it was such a fun and beautiful experience that I buckled down and practiced what I was taught." The stew was now simmering merrily in the pot.

Moving about the space, Yazeed found one stone that would make for a perfect seat and used his muscular frame to his advantage by pulling it closer. As he listened to the other hybrid's explanation he started to look for a second. "I think there's a certain expectation that comes with anyone who has Aishan blood to be a warrior like their mother." When he found another stone he smiled and went over to start pulling. This one was lodged a little firmer into the ground, so Yazeed bent to help dig it out of the earth a little. "I think, in that way, it makes what you do all the more magical. You're encouraging life and bringing it up instead of finding ways to tear it down. Weapons can be used for defense, same as magic for offense, but I think finding that shred of yourself in all of this so early in life will do you well."

He had just met this man and he had swiftly mananged to poke him right in the feels. "That is beautifully said, thank you Yazeed, I never really looked at it that way before." He checked the stew and it was was ready. He ladled them both out a hearty helping. "There will be plenty of stew for two hungry men so don't worry about taking more, I made it extra big on purpose." There was something so grounding about chatting with someone over food.

"Ehh, it's nothing. It's harder to look at things to do with yourself than it is others." He shrugged. Little things went unnoticed by the person doing them, but in front of others, especially strangers, they were as bright as the glowing fungi of Jauhar. Yazeed took the soup with a hearty thanks, and held it for a moment to let it cool. "Have you ever traveled out of Jauhar before?" The hulking hybrid blew a light breeze over his spoon and popped it into his mouth. It wasn't his mother's cooking, but... "Mmm. It's got a good flavor."

"I spend a lot of my time in Matori, I usually come back here for visits or grounding when I need it. I like Matori but its forest lack a really thick canopy which is comforting in some way I cannot really explain." He supposed Jauhar was home to half his soul. Matori the other. "I don't mind the travel though, it gets me out and seeing things I otherwise would not have." He too took a bite of the stew and sighed. It wasn't half bad!

"It feels like coming back home after a long day." Yazeed stretched his legs out in front of him and adjusted himself on the log. "Two of my parents are Geian so getting back to their lands is a little trickier than a cart ride. I like Belrea well enough, but can't say that I blend in very well over there." He gave himself a quick once over with his hand and a soft, easy going smile. His stomach also didn't care too much for air travel, but that wasn't a pleasant mealtime conversation. "Only time I've been to Matori was when I was a boy. I remember falling asleep on the sand and crying when a crab pinched my antennae. Can't say I'm eager for that to happen again, but I liked the sea well enough."

Syaa was fascinated about his new aquaintances home life, it was not unheard of for someone to have more than two parents but it was still a rare occurance. "I feel that, I don't really blend in when I'm in either of my homelands, but I spend most of my time in the bush where I don't need to blend in among people." Though he probably had the best chance of that around Nykinae's family, as diverse as they looked his antennae were not so out of place among the varying water and iceling skin tones and traits. "If it helps your traits compliment each other quite well." Made all the better by the hybrids chill demeanor. Syaa chuckled, "Crabs have a somewhat evil sense of humor," he rubbed his own antennae reflexively, wincing as he thought about it. "That would really hurt, they make a great stew if you catch enough of them!"
