Fang had been given the rundown, back at the house where he was being allowed to live right now. About the Negaverse. About youma. About the energy stealing and the starseed stealing and the corruption. And he hated them. He'd starved on his planet, nearly to death, alone, no family, no friends, nobody at all, fighting the Chaos. He would protect Earth viciously while he recovered here and saved his planet. Allowing anything to happen to the last blip of life in this universe... would be the ultimate failure. He refused to let anyone down. Nobody who was dead and nobody who was alive. So when he sensed the White Moon aura near a youma, he ran as fast as he could, leaping onto the aardvark-like youma's back and howling viciously.

Dealing with youma was a truly miserable experience. Carterhaugh hated it; hated the way it felt, hated that it involved destroying miserable creatures that were no better than trained animals most of the time, but it was an inevitable duty--like stopping a rabid raccoon.
So he had tracked the strange aardvark creature, and confronted it, and really, they felt they had it well in hand--but assistance wasn't exactly unwelcome. He'd kicked the creature away, just in time for the stranger to leap on it, and Carterhaugh was honestly surprised by the level of ferocity. The youma writhed, struggling and slapping its tail around, and attempted to pillbug under the Senshi on its back, and Carterhaugh sort of winced.
Poor, stupid thing.
"Be careful, that's gonna dust if you keep going at it like that." Best to warn, so his assistance didn't end up dropping facefirst onto concrete. He wondered what sort of sphere this Senshi had--his outfit seemed to come with ears and a tail, so some sort of animal? They'd have to ask, once the fight was over.

Fang twisted to look up at Carterhaugh—looking unhurt, thank the stars—and kept digging his claw-like nails into the back of the creature, head tilted and ears perked in curiosity. The back was made of similar stuff, so he wasn't getting very far with it, so he had no idea what Carterhaugh meant by making sure it didn't go to dust. Until, of course, he managed to pierce something between the plates of its armor and it exploded, leaving him splatting onto the pavement and in desperate need of a shower. He coughed and hacked, spitting wildly, tail lashing about and ears pinned to his head to protect their innards. The last thing he needed was an infection when he probably couldn't get it treated (pain pain no medicine hurt hurt hurt so many hurts hurts for so LONG not safe not safe NOT SAFE, never....). "Owwww," he whimpered, curling up and rolling a bit away from the dust pile so he could get fresher air into his poor lungs.

The youma came apart easily enough, as Carterhaugh had expected, and the poor Senshi looked thoroughly startled and confused by it. He must be new, Carterhaugh supposed, at least at first--
Until they saw the ears move.
The ears that they had previously assumed were part of the Senshi's costume. Because humans did not have fuzzy ears. Humans also did not have tails.
Carterhaugh inhaled, tensely. Walked over. Extended a hand.
"Are you alright?" They asked. "That dust will go away soon enough, it's nothing to worry much about. Is that your first youma?" Seemed likely. Perhaps whatever this Senshi was, and wherever he was from, they didn't have those? That sounded sort of nice. "I'm Carterhaugh--you are?"
An odd potential ally, to be certain, but Carterhaugh wanted to make as many friends as possible, and it was probably rude to ask the question that was on the tip of their tongue, which was--what are you?

Fang's ears twitched up towards Carterhaugh as the other person spoke, and he coughed, looking up at the offered hand with bleary eyes (flinch, slap, no, safe). He took it carefully, accepting the help (safe) in standing.
"Dust... gross," he groused, shaking his head and body to release the dust anyway. "First, yes. Name Fang."
He hit his chest with his fist and offered an awkward smile that was more like a grimace due to the way he was trying to hide his fangs. "Well met, Car...Cart..." he stuttered, swallowing heavily (throat pain never ending talking talking so much talking always bad). "Car-ter-haugh," he finally managed, forcing each syllable out in a strained manner.

"Dust very gross," Carterhaugh agreed. Youma were incredibly unpleasant all around, and what they left behind was, too. They couldn't help but dislike having to deal with the creatures. "Youma are sad things, but they do leave a mess behind, pretty much always."
Listening to Fang struggle with his name, he wondered briefly if there was a good way to shorten it--nothing came to mind, which was...unfortunate. "It's nice to meet you, Fang. And, ah....Carter will do? If that works for you?"
It felt a little strange, but it would have to work, because this poor Senshi seemed...well, seemed to have come from somewhere quite strange, and to have trouble with language.
"Where are you from?" He asked, because that seemed the easiest way to get the answer. "I don't think I've ever met someone quite like you before."

"Carter," he said gratefully, nodding his head, tail wagging slightly behind him. It was easier, to speak in smaller syllables. Thinking too hard about how big the word was tended to trip him up, too. Perhaps with some practice... he'd be able to say, at the least, names like Carterhaugh's, eventually. "I am from Fang," he answered, tail still wagging slightly as he concentrated on constructing full sentences. "Fang... sad. Dead. But Earth full of life! I come to see if my world can be helped. Fang been alone on Fang loooooong time." He coughed, rubbing his throat. "But Fang here now. Make friends!" he said almost too brightly to be believed, ears perking up and tail picking up speed. "Like Carter?"

Oh. That sounded....awful. Carterhaugh supposed they ought to be more surprised to learn that there was still some life on other worlds, even if it was apparently just one Senshi, but magic and monsters were already real--and he remembered Langite accusing him of being an interstellar invader.
Fang didn't sound like an invader, though. Fang sounded like a refugee.
"My Wonder was also dead," they sighed, unhappily. "But I hope it doesn't have to stay that way. And maybe there's a way to restore your world, too." That was a goal. To restore their Wonder, to save Aegirine--reasons to do this beyond simple self-interest and a desire to not be eaten by monsters.
They considered.
"I have a million questions, I admit--but I don't want to overwhelm you. Maybe we can meet later? I can send you a letter," they wiggled their fingers to show off their signet ring. "I don't know if or how you can send one back, but...perhaps if you've got a Knight friend you can ask? In any case, we can definitely keep in touch."
Fang was an interesting person. Carterhaugh definitely wanted to learn more. But he also seemed stressed by talking; better to not push and leave the incessant questioning for another time. After all, it wasn't exactly difficult to link up.
