Leona had finally come to terms with the fact that yes…this was real. It was real and…she had magic. She had a friend who was in this too, and that made the fact that it was real even…easier to stomach.
And now, as she walked around on…’patrol’...whatever that really meant, she saw a familiar furry black and white blob and her eyes lit up. “Soyala?”
Sure, she hadn’t accomplished much since the last time she saw the Guardian Cat but…at the very least she would be able to see that yes, Leona was out…and yes she was trying. It was better than nothing, at any rate. Hopefully better than some, obviously not better than all but…
Maybe she’d get there. One day.
“It is you! Hi! It’s me! Leona? You um. Helped me awaken a while ago…ah. I’m out again! Are you proud of me?” If the answer wasn’t yes, she would be devastated…and if Soyala didn’t actually know her…that would raise far more questions on the whole…reality she was living in and that…well. Leona didn’t have the time or energy for that.

"Leona!" Soyala put any doubts about her remembering Leona to rest almost immediately, when she bounded over and leapt at the Senshi's shoulders. She settled around her shoulders, purring up a storm.
"Oh, I am so proud to see you. It's so much harder to track down my Dark Mirror Senshi." She pressed her face against Leona's cheek. This...yes, this was exactly what she wanted to see when she found one of her Awakened Senshi again. Them out, and patrolling, and doing their jobs.
"How have you found being a Senshi so far? Nothing terrible has happened, has it? You have to be careful of people in white, so many of them are so rude and so foolish."

Leona laughed, feeling her mood soar from the fact that yes, Soyala remembered her, and from the fact that Soyala seemed to be actually pleased to see her. That was wonderful.
“It’s been okay. I won’t lie, I thought I had made the whole thing up at first but…then I met a friend who convinced me that I hadn’t. She’s another Dark Mirror like I am, and she’s very nice. But…seeing you again and knowing that you know me really solidifies that none of it was a crazy fever dream.”
Turning her face, Leona kissed Soyala on the cheek and grinned. “I’ve been good! I haven’t met anyone in white, but I’ll be careful, I promise. How have you been? What’s new with you? You look beautiful…have you been shedding badly? It’s getting warmer so I would assume this time of year is gross with that for you?”

Soyala nodded. "Not a dream at all. I'm glad to hear you've made a friend, darling! What's her name--perhaps I know her?" Perhaps it was one of the other Dark Mirrors Soyala had helped. There were quite a few, after all.
It would be good to be able to hear from two different Senshi at the same time, of sorts.
"I've been well. It is a shedding season, but fortunately, I have plenty of people I can ask to help brush me to clear it off." She wiggled, pleased with herself. "I'm well attended, I promise. No need to worry. It sounds like you've had a fine time of things so far, which I'm glad for."

“Her name is Ariadne! And she’s lovely. If you don’t know her, I hope that you get a chance to meet her sometime. She…” Leona swallowed, feeling her cheeks grow just a little warm. “She’s really pretty too, so there’s that. But, Soya, if you ever don’t have someone to brush you, I would love to offer my services. That was kind of where I was going with the question, but it’s fine if you don’t need me! I understand!”
She did, even if she didn’t like it.
“I’ve always got open arms and an open spot on my bed for you if you’re ever in need of a place to stay, but don’t feel pressured but…I would like it. Cats are great and all, but most of them have such attitudes. And while you can have all the attitude you’d like, you can tell me why you don’t want me to pet you, you won’t just scratch or hiss at me, so…you’re far superior.”
Leona gave a little grin and sighed happily. “But if you’re too busy with all of your other wonderful senshi loves, I do understand!”

Soyala perked up. "Oh, yes, Ariadne! Amytis's sister, delightful girl, such a lovely outfit and a wonderful sphere. I helped Awaken her; her sister asked for my assistance." What a delightful coincidence, that two of her Dark Mirrors knew each other! Perhaps she could make sure they looked after each other, since she could only be around so often for them. "And if you wish, I would be quite happy to let you brush me. One can never have too many hands attending to one's appearance." She made a soft chuckling noise, a little bit a delighted purr and a little bit a laugh.
"In fact, staying with you for a time sounds like it would be quite good. I would like to come home with you, if you'd have me." The Negaverse could spare her to the Dark Mirror for a little while. "Unless I receive a call; my service to the General-Sovereigns and the Queen must come first, you understand. But I can look after you for a time. Make sure you're getting all the guidance you need."
It would be quite pleasant, to have a home on the surface again, rather than simply coasting from office to office or crawling back into Quartz and Idrialite's empty, abandoned one. The way she longed after them was quite pathetic, she realized; they were both gone, and she could only expect that she would meet them as traitors.
A tragedy, but simply the facts of life.
"If you would like to take me home with you, that would be quite lovely. I would so enjoy having someone to more permanently look after me."

Leona brightened and nodded. “Oh! Yeah I get that! It makes sense to me, but while I have you, I’m going to be the best I can for you!” She was terribly excited and started on her way home almost at once, powering down and making sure that Soyala stayed on her shoulders. “You won’t regret this. I’ll look after you for as long as you want me too, and even if duty calls you away, my home is always yours, I promise.”
After all, what was a home against magic?
Soyala had opened a million doors for her. Doors she hadn’t even known had existed. The least she could do was help the Mauvian to some comfort and love.
“Tell me what you’d like for dinner. I’ll cook whatever I can for you. You won’t regret this, and you won’t regret giving me this magic either. I promise.”

"I think," Soyala said, "that we will enjoy spending time together very much, my darling." And the best part was that she would be able to lounge around a home, making a space for herself. That sounded...lovely.
"Do you have salmon? It's my favorite, in any form. Smoked is best, but cooked any way...." She sighed, contentedly. "Though really, any fish will do."
She was, after all, still a cat, in many ways.
"And, darling? I could never regret giving anyone magic. You're all so wonderful and special--and whatever you do with your gifts...I'm always pleased."
Well, unless one of her Senshi went and purified. But surely none of them would ever betray her that way.
