CL: 1-2 (crew recommended for Lawn Gnomes or Mushroom Cannon areas when closer to CL 1)
Comments: If you feel you are ready for the animated, head here. This is the starter are after the training session you had on the train and in the sewers. There are a number of areas here where you can fight without even charging your rings, though its highly recommend you hightail your behind directly to the Null Chamber marked on the map (Till the map is linked, don't worry, just head two boxes south. You shouldn't encounter any animated on your way to the Null Chamber.). If you also talked to Elizabeth before leaving Barton she will have given you a quest to charge one of your rings, so if you plan on charging your rings before you get busy in the greens make sure you've talked to Elizabeth.

Notes: You'll want to have Ghost or Teflon Spray on when you touch the statue, then run back to the entrance. You can stay and attack the Animated that spawn after you touch the statue, but be warned, the Spirit Vases can pretty much 1-hit you. They do move slowly so if you want race a few maps up and start attacking the Masks, Coatls and Witch Doctors that spawned. Once you get back to the Cliffs entrance you will have survived the Gauntlet.
Special Rewards: Recipe: Otami Grieves

The Stone Coatl (Prerequisite: Started The Gauntlet)

Notes: Initially upon entering the throne room you will get a moment to attack a few creatures that spawned before the Stone Coatl will warp you to it. You'll want to focus mostly on defeating the Coatl, as when it dies everything else that spawns in the chamber will die with it.

Gold Beach:

Description: This popular tourist beach is golden sand next to gentle lagoon-like waves. Surfers paddle far out past the barrier reef to catch the bigger waves there, and they swear that the rides are worth the effort. A lighthouse stands high over the beach, warning ships about the reef so they don't add to the countless shipwrecks found throughout the Shallow Sea.

Barton Town:

Description: The Town is thriving with not just the various shopkeepers and personalities you already know, but many more characters are being added to make it feel like a thriving village. You'll be able to spend a lot of time here, in Gaia's original town.
CL: Doesn't matter, there are no animated.

Comments: Please note that from here on out, you don't have to do anything in a particular order, unless you are working on a quest chain.

If you don't think you are quite ready to face the animated, you can stick around Barton. A number of the NPC's here have quests for you that require no killing at all. This is also a good way to get a decent pack of charge orbs to use on your rings later.

Hints and Tips

The Fountain Game!
If you walk over to the fountain you should see a small sign standing to the side. If you click on it, you enter your crew into the queue to play the fountain game. This is a memory game.
If you go into the Bar near the fountain you will find a room of the artists and developers that worked on zOMG. These are all just NPC versions that you can interact with and learn a bit more about them.

Training:

For these first few areas of zOMG you'll pretty much be following a specific path, though you can always choose to just explore or kill creatures.

The Train
Upon first entering the world of zOMG you find yourself on a train, a runaway train no less!

What should you do?
The first thing you'll need to do is click on the guy named Frank. Read everything Frank has to tell you carefully. He'll help you learn how to navigate and teach you about some aspects of zOMG along with giving you your very first quest, Stop the Train!.

Stop the Train!
Step 1: Head up to the next compartment on the train and pull the emergency lever.
Step 2: Because the emergency lever broke Frank will send you to the front of the train. Rip the wiring out of the xxx box in the next compartment.
Step 3: Move to the very front of the train and pull the brake.

Once you have successfully completed Frank's training you'll enter the train station.

The Train Station/Sewers
You may be done with Frank, but your training isn't done yet!

What should you do?
You'll see two NPCs, Barry and Dani. Dani doesn't want to talk to you just yet, so head over to Barry and have a nice little chat. (How can you tell? A NPC that will talk to you will either have a bubble over their head with "..." or "!!!". If you see the red exclamation marks, that is an indication of a quest, but just because they don't have them doesn't mean they might not have a quest for you.)

After your nice little chat, Barry will tell you to talk to Dani.

Dani will teach you some more about zOMG. To help you get started she will let you pick from three attacking rings (Mantis, Solar Rays, Hot Foot) and teach you how to use it. Then Dani will give you a quest, Peelungers.

Peelungers
Step 1: Go into the severs and kill 2 peelungers.
Notes: Once you receive the quest you should now see a bouncing arrow by a door by Barry. Head over to the door and you'll enter the sewers. You can wander about a bit if you want to explore the map, but be warned there are animated that might find your flesh rather tasty. If you want to get right down to business, go find two peelungers and kill them using your brand new attacking ring. You can continue to explore, or head back to Dani to get more rings and another quest.

What's next?
When you go back to Dani, she'll give you your second ring. You'll once again have three rings to choose from (Bandage, Diagnosis, Meat). Dani will again teach you how to use your new ring and give you another quest, Nibbling Gramsters.

Nibbling Gramsters
Step 1: Head back into the sewers and search for 5 gramsters to kill.
Notes: If you notice your health is getting low, don't hesitate to use your new healing ring, that's what its there for afterall! Since gramsters can be a bit intimidating, especially if you walk into a mob, you may also want to consider finding a crew while you are in the sewers to help you kill all the little beasties. Once you're done head back to Dani to receive your third ring.

What's next?
You'll choose one of three buff rings from Dani (Knife Sharpen, Improbability Sphere, Rock Armor). Dani will direct you back to Barry. Talk to Barry to receive your last training quest, Do a Lap!.

Do a Lap!
Step 1: Head back in to the sewers. Barry told you the first valve you need to turn is right next to the entrance. You should also see a red flag marking the location in your PDA. Turn the valve and then head to to the next one. After you have turned all the valves head back to Barry.
Notes: After you turn a valve you PDA should have a new red flag. Sometimes you can't immediately see the exact location, but you should see a red arrow pointing in the direction of the next flag on the edge of your PDA.

What's next?
Barry will give you the key to unlock the doors at the tops of the ladders. You may have noticed them as you wandered around the sewers, even if you didn't don't worry. They'll all be marked on your PDA when you head back to the sewers. Before you head off though, Barry does give you one more quest, Finding Elizabeth.

Finding Elizabeth
Step 1: Head up one of the ladders in the sewers and look far a guard named Elizabeth (She should be standing just north of the Guild House in the Southwest area of Barton. She will also give you a quest, The Null Chamber (for more information on the quest check the post on Barton).
Notes: If you want to try and collect some badges that will be displayed in your profile, continue to run around the sewers killing monsters before you head up the ladder. When you are ready to head to Barton you'll need to click twice on the ladder, but just remember once you enter Barton you can't return to the sewers so make sure you are ready for the next step in your journey.

Hints and Tips:
Chests, Crates and Baskets
There are a few chests, crates and baskets located in the sewers. When you click on one it will give you some gold and charge orbs. There is also a chance you could get a ring from one of these. I've done you favor and marked them on this map of the sewers (note: I'll add the link to the map once the game is live).

As a warning, some of these areas are guarded by a number of gramsters. Some of them won't open for you either unless you kill all the little buggers, so if you don't think you can handle a mob of gramsters, you may want to seek out some help.

If you are in a crew, everyone in your crew will also receive rewards from them as long as they are in the same area of the map.

If someone has gotten to the chest/crate/basket before you'll find that it is already opened. If you want, you can hang around wait for it to respawn, or you can just move on. More of these chests, crates and baskets can be found all over the world of zOMG.

Animated
User ImagePeelunger: This former bathroom plumbing device is mucking around in the sewers. Since this monster could care less about you, you can walk by them safely without fear for your life. You can attack one standing directly next to another and the second peelunger will not bounce to the aid of the one under attack. They are also the easiest of the monsters to kill.

User ImageGramster: This G-Virus infected creature likes to hang out with a few buddies, they are always at least two spawn wherever you find them. If you walk to close they will give chase. Some of the larger groupings are strongly suggested only for those adventuring in a crew. These guys pack a bit more punch than the Peelungers.
