[R] Positive Intent [Lionel x Heliodor]

It hadn't taken much. A quick message on the pad and the plans were made for Heliodor to meet up with Lionel for an evening on patrol together. Well, less patrol and more energy gathering to be truthful. In fact, Heliodor had been wanting to spend some one-on-one time with his subordinate. Beyond the file Faustite had given him and the large team gathering, Helio knew nothing else about Lionel and intended to rectify that.

If there was one thing he wanted to make sure he did right was to try and build a healthy bond with his subordinate. What exactly that would look like he wasn't sure since his own bond with his superiors had been...complicated. But, intent was at least a step in the right direction.

Powered up, he stood on top of a small bank nestled tightly between an apartment building and an old five and dime store. All of the buildings in this part of the city had a consistent layer of grime on them and generally looked tired. He'd found the more poorer parts boded the best intake of energy when out actively hunting for it. People seemed to be out at all times of the day and night. Especially on weekends and with it being a saturday...the pickings should be good.

When Lionel arrived, Helio offered a friendly smile. "Hope I didn't pull you away from anything important tonight." In truth, Helio had given Lionel the option to decline and reschedule to another day, but he had hinted that tonight would be particularly easy for them both. And likely an early one if that was how it panned out. The sun had only just set so the evening was still young.

"Figured we could get ahead of our quotas and get to know one another a bit."

The message had been politely worded. There was wiggle room, space to try and escape. An opportunity to reschedule, beg off, just call Kailey and have her over for drinks and a night that he would regret a lot less than going out energy draining.

But the message, ultimately, came from a superior officer. And he would have to fulfill this particular obligation anyway. So he took a breath, and steeled himself, and resigned to the fact that he was going to have to deal with Heliodor whether he wanted to or not.

He had a direct boss now. That was troublesome, but useful, perhaps. As long as Heliodor wasn't the type to look too closely.

"Nothing too important, no," Lionel said. He considered mentioning that he could make some, but....no. Hinting that there was someone important in his life....that was dangerous. If the Negaverse didn't know about her yet, they didn't need to.

"Quotas are always easier with more than one," he said. "Less chance of getting jumped that way." He wasn't sure where to start with the whole...getting to know each other thing. He knew, from what he could find, that Heliodor was ex-White Moon; maybe he was another source for how to help Guinevere. Certainly he didn't seem to be murder-happy. But then again, he might just cover it very well, and Lionel was unsure how to begin to broach the conversation, anyway.

”Perfect. With the two of us this should go fairly quickly. Honestly, I want to see how you work. You’ve been with the negaverse for awhile now and haven’t moved up the ranks. I would like to rectify that if I can. Someone who has been with us for so long should have something to show for it.” He offered Lionel a smile. Faustite had been worried that Lionel had simply just been overlooked for some time now with no direct superior to watch him. Helio truely wanted to help Lionel out if that was the case. For some, a stagnate position could cause unrest.

“So, if you don’t mind, maybe tell me a bit about yourself? What you do for a living, how you feel about the team or maybe your place in it? Whatever you feel comfortable with. Hell, we can make this a question for a question if you want. That was you can ask anything about me you might be curious about.”

He shifted his weight from his right foot to his left. “We can ask each other as we look around for some energy sources. Sound alright to you?”
