Her flurry of sailscales soared and whizzed around her like her own personal little storm cloud. They were happy to be away from the smithy. A chance to stretch their wings.
If her plant went well, they would get more than a simple stretch. Her zanteer paced politely on either side of her.
They were older and thus quite a bit better behaved than the three sailscales.
She arrived at her boyfriends property.

Ushi 1
A swarm of sailscales announced Saeruin's arrival as the winged beasts swirled and chattered animatedly with his own flock. The rest of the sailscales had been rehomed at this point besides those kept by his family.
He smiled, finished his chore and handed his list off to a brother, before letting the sailscales guide him to his beautiful guest. He couldn't hide the extra spring in his step..
"Saeruin to what do I owe this most lovely pleasure?" He was excited she was here, he always was.

"Well I was kind of hoping you would come along on a date with me."
She was getting better, he forced her eyes to focus on him properly and not cast her gaze down.
Her sailscales all landed on her at the same time. One of them hissed theatrically at Ushiwa, to be answered by his red and black striped female who was always ready for a fight.
"Teenagers." She sighed. She was never bored.

He smirked at the sailscales antisocial antics. "They are already so protective, its kinda cute, if a little bit loud."
"Sure I'll go on a date with you. Might I ask where it is that we are going?"
He looked at her expectantly. The firelizards continued their own discussion together over top of theirs.

She smirked right back at him. "Sauti."
She felt like it was time for the babies to have enough space to fly around in.
"After all we had so much fun the last time. Might as well make it the go too date destination, don't you agree Ushiwa?"
It wasn't exactly a walk in the park to get there, but she had wanted to visit again ever since they had left. It felt windy and barren and wonderful out there. With just them the wind and the critters, no family, no friends, no...interuptions.

"Sauti? Well if you want to, I have no qualms about going, I'll need a moment to pack some provisions. You can take Malibu out and saddle him up, he won't let anyone else ride him now. He wants to bite Tethys for no good reason so you can have at him."
He was pretty sure his Father was going to give Malibu to his girlfriend anyway but he would let him or his mother tell her that.
He scurried off to get ready, humming delightedly to himself. Nothing like a few days on the road with the one you ...loved. He did love her he realized. He hadn't thought he would love anyone but family but there it was she had weasled her sneaky way into his heart and she was there to stay.

She grinned. "I think Malibu loves me best. He knows I think he's handsome."
She rushed to the stables to fetch her favorite snaptrotter who she swore evened his stride over rough ground to help his novice rider stay steady on his back.
He was such a beautiful beast she adored him, just as she had come to adore Ushiwa but she didn't have to hide it with Malibu.
He snorted when he saw her and shoved his snoot under her hand for pets, moaning and growling and telling her this long story about how no one but her paid attention to him ever!
"Oh surely it hasn't been that bad darling."

He packed and saddled Cerean his janarim and the mount he was closest with. The new animals were still too rough for a ride like this so he would let Thallassa use his voodoo on them for a while. His brother excelled at calming wild beasts for some reason.
He had heard that Thallassa was seeing a leaf lady now, he was happy that his brother had found someone like he had.
Saeruin was his sunrise and his rain cloud, his lightning strike and his new bloom.
She came out leading a very smug looking Malibu.
She was going to end up with more critters than he and he was the beast tamer. The thought made him smirk.
In a swift twisty movement he went from being on the ground to up on the janarim's back.
"Right them to camping!"

"Can I leave my two zanteer here? I don't think they would enjoy the trip so much as the rest of us."
She was worried for them and there was no one else she would rather trust then her favorite family of beast tamers.
Not all of them were beast tamers of course but it sure did seem to run deep in the blood.
"You two be good."

"Yes of course, no problem." He whistled and a groom, one of two hired by his family to help out with the shear load of animals they now had. Most of the older charmers were neck deep in training so some of the day to day care went to the grooms. They were trustworthy, sturdy folk, he knew because he secretly lurked and vetted them before sending his approvals to his father. Those who didn't meet his standard were referred to places elsewhere in town.
"I see Malibu is excited to go, even if it is too Sauti, but I suspect that has more to do with his rider than anything else."

They made it to their camping spot in Sauti n days later just in time for one hell of a storm to pop over the horizon. They voted for a secluded cave carved into the base of the sailscale cliffs instead of the open area where they had camped previously.
The fire was crackling merrily away by the time the storm broke out in savage fury.
She glanced over at Ushi who was stirring food on the fire.
She was about to do something so daring that her hands shook. She sidled over to him and placed a hand on his chest gently.

She crept closer to him and he didn't think much of it until she placed her small, elegant hand upon his chest.
His heart leapt as it always did at her touch and he looked up at her.
"Sae...?" was all he could get out before he nearly drowned in her bright yellow eyes. He inhaled and her subtle floral, oceanic perfume wafted over him and made his head even more muzzy.

Now that she had his attention, she didn't particularly care if their supper burned.
She kissed him, living for this particular moment in time. She had decided to solidify having a family of her own and that meant claiming her mate in the most primal way.
"Ushi.." She kissed him again. Pressing her hand over his now racing heart.

He took her tiny hand in his.
"You realize that what happens tonight if we continue in this way, may result in children."
He had to say it, hated himself for bringing it up but well, his family was awfully prolific and he felt it was his duty to let her know before she took it far enough that they wouldn't stop.

She bit his lower lip gently. "I know, if it happens it happens, I am ready and there is no one else out there that I would rather do this with than you."
Her heart was so full of love that she felt like she had an inner sun glowing inside her. This was what let her know that he was indeed her soulmate. Something that her family had always believed in. Her parents having found that in each other.
