Arnica and Kibirev. Those were the names that Danalite had given her, and she was looking for a Dark Mirror Super and an Eternal--a man with pink and white hair, dressed in pink and purple, and a woman with tricolor pink, blue, and lavender hair that wore the same shades. She hadn't had any luck, but she was still looking.
Well, hadn't had any luck until she spotted pink and white hair, and Dark Mirror stylings, and--oh, she really hoped she had just gotten lucky.
"Hi! Hey," she called, running up towards the other Senshi, "I'm Aridane, are you--I'm looking for Sailor Arnica? Danalite said you were her brother, and I wanted to see if I could find you so we can talk?"

Arnica was taking a quick walk through the park, trying to warm up between one Mirrorspace trip and the next when he heard someone calling to him.
Naturally, he paused–she knew his name. He didn’t know how, he didn’t recognize her, but okay.
He turned to face her and–oh, that made sense, yeah. Danalite. So weird to hear that name and think oh yeah, my sister.
“Yeah, that’s me. What’s up, what do you want to talk about?”

She had gotten lucky! How perfect, here was Arnica, exactly who she had been looking for.
"Uh, I kinda just wanted to...ask for your perspective on things?" Ariadne shrugged her shoulders. "My sister--Eternal Sailor Amytis--she's been my guide for a lot of things in the Dark Mirror, but she kind of....quit being active a while back, except Awakening me. Some stuff happened with her fiancee, and...." Ariadne shrugged apologetically, as if she needed to make recompense for her sister's lack of action as a Senshi.
"Anyway, I just kinda want to get to know more people in the Court and stuff."

“Oh,” he answered, rather easily. “Yeah, that’s easy enough. I was worried you were in trouble or something. I can’t say that I’ve met your sister, but I understand that if she’s got other things going on. I’ve honestly only met a few other members of the Court, but. I don’t think it’s bad. Mirrorspace is a whole wild mystery, I just want to solve it. Never a dull moment.”
He held out his hand to give a proper introduction. “It’s nice to meet you. I’m sorry to hear about the stuff your sister’s got going on. What’s your perspective on things right now, what are you interested in?”

"Oh, nah," Ariadne shrugged. "Nothing like that." If she did end up in trouble, she hoped she'd be able to call for help, or something, but at the moment....no, fortunately.
"I mean, I think poking around Mirrorspace would be really cool, even if I maaaybe didn't get the best introduction?" Ariadne sighed. "Were you there for the thing where it sucked us all in? Right after Halloween? Pretty crazy, but also like....really cool." It had definitely left an impression on her, that was for certain.
"I just don't really know....what I want, yet, except that I like being magical. Why, should I be like....looking for an area of research, or something?"

“I’ve been here for a lot of things, yeah. Been dragged into this place and others more times than I care to admit. It’s wild, but at least it keeps things interesting. I don’t think you have to look for an area of research. You just have to do whatever you want to do. So far as I can tell, it’s pretty lax.”
He paused, and then clarified, “Well. I mean, I guess it depends on what your opinion is. A lot of the things we do are based on hypotheticals. So, hypothetically, something bad is going to happen to Earth. So Remarque wants a backup, just to make sure people are safe. And that makes sense to me! But Earth seems to be doing pretty good so far. But, I guess you never know what tomorrow will bring. Personally, I like researching. I was born a little too late to be some great explorer on Earth, but Mirrorspace is completely uncharted territory. Unchartable, even–it’s always changing, outside of like, three rooms. But you go in, and sometimes you just find weird things. So I want to figure out this place a little more. Want to figure out what else it’s hiding. But there’s not really any criteria–just be safe. Or get into a little trouble, you know. Have fun. Make good choices. All those things.”

Ariadne nodded along as he explained, looking thoughtful and interested. It seemed like the Dark Mirror was in an interesting position, preparing for a future that might or might not come and might or might not be nasty. It made her get thoughtful, as she turned it over.
"I think I'd like to explore Mirrorspace," she admitted. "It sounds so....interesting. My sister said it's dangerous, and I guess she had a weird experience, got stuck in there for a while? But she made it out stronger, so I guess there's that." She tilted her head to the side. "What kind of stuff have you found in there? Anything particularly cool, or just...you know, stuff?"

“Oh, good choice. It is interesting,” Arnica said, obviously pleased with her response. “It’s dangerous, yeah, but if you’re in good company it’s safe enough. Especially if you can wrangle Remarque out. He seems to have better mastery over Mirrorspace, so if you’re really worried, you can always call on him and see if he can go with you. We’ve been a few times. Most of the time I just find these crystals–you know, just little things that seem like they’ve had all this magic compressed into them. If you know how to use them–and where–it’s like,” he had to pause and consider how he wanted to answer.
“You can sort of play God a little bit. All of these things are just trapped in crystals, and if you work hard enough you can use them to make your own little world. But then, I’ve found some things–an old necklace, some weird tools. A doorknob. A box I can’t figure out how to open. A key. That doesn’t go to the box, but I tried. I got some pictures of a weird mural I found, too. And a room with crazy architecture. I’ll have to show you some time.”

Everything that Arnica was describing made Ariadne lean in with intense interest. She also mentally pocketed the name "Remarque"--Amytis had mentioned him, a Prince or something, but Ariadne had never met him nor sought him out, and obviously she'd have to fix that.
"I'd love to see whatever you can show me," she said, unsubtly eager. "And those crystals--that sounds amazing." Getting to build her own little world in Mirrorspace, that was...oh, that'd be so cool. "Does that stuff stick around when you take it out? Or is it like, tethered to Mirrorspace? Sorry if that's a dumb question, I just....really don't know very much. I've only been the one time my sister took me for my Awakening, and then when there was the thing with the weird mirrorwraith."

“Sticks around,” he answered easily. “I’ve got them all at home right now, in a little box in my room. I used to keep them all in my subspace, but I ran out of room. I take them with me when I’m doing a deep dive in Mirrorspace, just in case they’re some sort of key or something. No luck, yet, but maybe next time. I’ve never tried to take the crystals out, I don’t think,” he mused.
“Mostly because I don’t think they do anything outside of Mirrorspace and I don’t want to lose them. They’re not exactly easy to find, and if I’m going to use any of them, I want to get the most out of them. But we should take a trip, you and I. We’ll go see what we can find in Mirrorspace, and if we get lucky with any crystals, we’ll go terraform or something. I’ll have to show you my island one of these days. Probably should put a little more work into making it more stable. Got a lot of flowers up there, but if the world came crashing down tomorrow, would probably be nice to have a house or something, too.”

Ariadne nodded along as he explained, tapping her cheek thoughtfully. It seemed like a reasonable thing to do, keeping any weird trinkets she might find while she was in Mirrorspace.
"That sounds great," she said. "And, I mean, hopefully I'll be ready to get stronger soon? I've been working hard to be better at this whole...Senshi...thing," she smiled, wryly, and shrugged her shoulders. "And maybe once I'm able to start working on my own, you can show me how? That sounds pretty fun."
Look at her go. Making friends and all that. Ava would be proud, she hoped.
