Goodness, but she'd been busy lately. Work and life had picked up and while her uncle Vincent kept insisting she didn't owe rent, she did work hard to help ease bills and that included groveries -- but even then her duties ended -- specifically, because her uncle insisted she enjoy herself a while. She supposed he was right. She meant well and loved her as much as her father had, and so she opted to repay him by continuing to watch gfor Youma near the house as Dubhe. Super Dubhe.

Being a Super Senshi was strange, and Ezekiel had been very unhappy when it came that a cat upgraded her, but, characteristic of the Tucana family, and not the Hydrus, Dubhe firmly asserted it wasn't as bad as Susanoo made it out to be, smacked him, and carried on with her buysiness. She loved Zeke, but in her experience, power was important if you were less willing to fight... Unlike Susanoo.

Dubhe stretched as she walked along her patrol route, taking in the night with a casual approach as she tried looking for those whom might do ill, or in casr of someone she knew; her ears were tuned too, in case someone didn't need her, so much as her healing magicks, the senshi walking at a leisurely pace down the road slowly, taking in the environment with a casual gaze before pausing.

She felt something, and it was enough to lower her arms and made a quizzical sound before turning to investigate, cheer in her step as she approached. Was it a new friend, or foe? She hoped friend -- friend she liked, and she waved, smiling brightly.

"Hi!"

Ingrid hadn’t been out on patrol since…goodness. She couldn't even remember when the last time she was out was. But, she had made the decision to give it another try, and had a small hope that maybe this time…maybe this time she’d find her brother, but…honestly, it was a joke, that hope.

There was an aura nearby though, and she paused, making her way over to it. There was a pretty blonde senshi there, and when she smiled and waved and…even said hello…

It was a lot.

Staring, Ingrid opened her mouth to say something in return and then closed it again, before trying once more. “Um. Hello. Gosh…you’re um. Chipper, aren’t you? I’m…I’m Ingrid. Senshi of Holly. It's nice to meet you…your fuku is very lovely. I love how light and flowy it looks.”

Well, the good news was she hadn’t yet forgotten how to talk to another powered individual…and the better news was that the first person she met after going patrolling again hadn’t turned out to be someone that she had to fight with.

At the very least, she felt a bit better due to that fact.

Dubhe beamed at Ingrid, giving a practiced curtset before motioning.

"I'm -- I guess Sailor Dubhe? Senshi of Sahasrara/ And thank you for the compliment! I like your fuku too!" Dubhe liked every fuku, but she didn't mind admitting that. And compliments were best handled graciously!.. However Dubhe then motioned, and smiled.

"As for chipper... Well, I hope it's not too much? I like people. Especially people I'm not having trying to kill me." She did so hating fighting, considerably, and the senshi then relaxed some.

"How are you this evening? Are you well? There's no trouble out is there?" Dubhe worried! Admittedly, she also liked people in general, which was both said and expressed. She did, however, accept she had a healing magic and not a defense or combat one... Ah well!

Ingrid nodded. “Yeah…the whole not having someone trying to kill you is really the high life, isn’t it?” This senshi seemed very nice, and it was very reassuring. Having someone stronger than she was, and who seemed to be so upbeat…she couldn’t help but smile, at least a little.

“I didn’t feel anything bad out, and this evening? I'm fine. In general…well. I’m dealing.” Honestly, she doubted she would ever be really okay without her older brother, but…she had been holding on so tightly to that pain, it had begun to truly suffocate her and…it was time to let it go.

Maybe.

A little.

“Have um. You found any trouble tonight?” Because trouble was what they were working to prevent. Trouble just…caused pain. And a lot of it.

"You are not wrong." Dubhe chuckled, smiling gently before motioning. 'Dealing' implied something was wrong, and Dubhe immediately approached a bit, expression concerned; worried there was something hurting the other senshi, and Dubhe wanted to help... Somehow, and the healing senshi's brows knit as one hand lightly rest upon her shoulder. "...Sweetie... Is something wrong? I don't mind offering a shoulder, if.. You need one? Or -- I can get my cousin? If you need someone to lean on and someone to watch for trouble, or..."

Dubhe couldn't help worrying, help caring.

The war was brutal. Losing her father to a youma proved that, and the senshi briefly wilted at the memory, the starseed vanishing... But her hurts could wait, and Dubhe was determined to help, if desired. "As for trouble -- no... But as I said... Sweetie... If you need to talk to someone, or break down -- anything... I'm happy to be a shoulder...."

“Oh um. No, I’m fine, really. Just. You know. Life. And ah. Things.” The hand on her shoulder almost had Ingrid tearing up, but she worked very hard to shove all of the feelings back, turning to Dubhe and giving an overly bright smile. “...I appreciate it. I um. Might want a patrol partner sometimes though, if I’m going to get myself back into things…it might be best not to do it all alone…if you’d be interested…”

She shrugged, almost helplessly. “I would be very much obliged to you. But…what is that? Your sphere, I’ve never heard of sahasrara…it sounds exotic and…is it a type of food? Your outfit reminds me of dessert…kind of. Like cotton candy.”

She was finally beginning to relax, at least a little. Maybe…she could rely on this stranger but. Maybe not. Regardless…she could try.

"Life things happen." Dubhe agreed, but she wasn't going to force her to talk, and instead accepted the graceful roll of the conversation with a smile.

"I'd love a patrolling partner! It makes things go better, especially ah, with my magic." Dubhe flushed pink a moment, motioning. "I'm... I'm a healer. Which, to answer what my sphere is, I think it links to my magic? I googled it once but it's not... The best description I have is the crown chakra? It's followed with a lot of history... A lot.... More than I could read without my brain turning to oatmeal."

There was so, so much... Too much. Be it luck or not multiple beliefs AND pop culture boith dealt in it and trying to find facts from fiction or a bad trip felt like more effort than it needed to be. All Dubhe wanted was what her sphere was, not the concepts and theories behind it, and uuugggghhh. Why. And much of her homeworld actually didn't deal with her sphere.... Yet. Maybe? Maybe it was something lost...? Now she needed to take another trip. Dubhe mentally determined to move on and looked to Ingrid with a smile. "What about you? I mean, I know holly's a plant, but..." She was curious!

Ingrid nodded slowly, trying to arrange her features so that it didn’t look as though she had absolutely no idea what a crown chakra was, but…that was okay. She could look it up later and…

“Oh. Um, yeah it’s a plant. It’s…pointy. And festive, I guess…I don’t know. It’s just what I was given, I suppose…better than my twin…she got stuck with peppermint, the very worst thing in the world.”

For a moment, Ingrid looked disgusted, the very thought of the flavor making her stomach churn. “I don’t understand why it’s so popular. Or why she likes it so much. Or why she keeps trying to force me to like it after I haven’t my whole life but…that would have been torture…if that would have been the magic I was given.”

An attempt of lightening the conversation…not a great one…but an attempt all the same.

"Holly's still a nice sphere, though." Dubhe smiled. "And I'm sorry your twin ended up with a sphere you're not fond of." Dubhe really was sorry; family... Family was important to her, especially after her fasther's death. She... Admittedly refused to move out on her uncle Vincent, now, really. Then she hummed.

"I think my cousin might have the less abstract sphere between us. He's the Senshi of Tengu and.... He's STILL irritated I'm stronger." Zeke meant well -- she wasn't happy the times she'd been forced into battle, and instead elected to avoid fighting as much as possible. Dubhe was a healer, which made her happy. Zeke - Susdanoo - was very much a fighter, and she suspected alone he might attack anything remotely chaos.

And then there was her response -- absolutely trying to be friends.

“You have family involved in all of this too?” Ingrid looked up and gave a little, almost shy smile. That...was neat. “I’d like to meet your cousin, sometime. And maybe I can see about introducing you to my twin too…it…it’s good not to go through all of this alone, I guess. At least. If you have friends…people will look for you if anything ever happens.”

Not that she wanted anything to ever happen but. People went missing. People died. She wasn’t…completely a fool.

…most of the time, at least.

“Lucky for me, my sister and I are both the same level of strength…clearly we’re super involved in everything…that’s a joke, we hardly ever go out. But. Still…One day, I’ll get stronger. Now that I’m going out it’s…bound to happen, right?”

"I'm not sure how genetic powering is, but, my cousin lives with me since I still live with my uncle." Dubhe explained, before fidgeting. She was honestly flirting with moving out when the youma attack happened, and her father dying... Yolie couldn't leave. Not seeing how heartbroken her uncle was. "He actually might like meeting othewr people. He's admittedly on the intense side at times, but he's good company. He awakened after I did by a couple years, though."

And he fiussed and complained about her trying to be a one-woman army about powering. Sailor Susanoo was far crankier, and he was mostly only gentle about her father. Now, anyhow, that he understood why she had handled it so badly.

"I think time is what iut takes to get stronger? Time, patrolling. That's really a majority of what I do. And I wouldn't go alone -- taking someone is... Wise. Youma are... Brutal, and hostile. If you aren't prepared they can do real harm."

Like her father. Dubhe still prayed daily nothing hurt her unjcle Vincent. Sje doubted any of them couild take it, let alone her other relatives outside of the house. The thought turned her stomach and the senshi shivered, closing her eyes a moment.

Ingrid frowned slightly and finally reached out, placing a hand on Dubhe’s shoulder, just as had been done to her. A gesture of friendship and…something to show that the other senshi wasn’t alone either. No matter what ghosts continued to invade her brain. “Hey. Do you um. Want to grab something to eat? Or ice cream or something? We can exchange numbers and maybe start some kind of patrol schedule…that way we can keep ourselves…safe and…the rest of the city too…?”

She shuffled her feet for a moment and then looked up again, giving a hopeful little smile.

“...We can talk about the best way to fight off youma too…and make sure that we can’t…that we won’t let them terrorize anyone else…?”

It was an olive branch…but one that she truly hoped would be taken.

Dubhe smiled a bit, opening her eyes appreciatively. She tried not to let the past hurt, but the past did hurt, and Dubhe accepted that. Still, comfort... Was welcome. As was the idea of food. Tonight was rather quiet, anyhow -- and helping another senshi and working with thjem was a nice idea.

"I'd like that." Dubhe answered, calming from her brief flash of tension with a smile. "That sounds perfect." And working with another senshi? Matve Susanoo would finally stop chewing her out. A pause.

"We... Can probably also hang out unpowered too, sometime... If you'd like? I mean, I work at a maid tea house, but off work?"
PostPosted: Sat Apr 16, 2022 12:42 pm

Ingrid nodded. “Yeah…I’d like that. I’ve never been to a maid tea house but…I’d love to go.” The smile on her face was less worried, less unhappy, and she nudged Dubhe gently and let her powered form drop. “I’m Dasha, come on, I know a great place to get something good to eat, and we’ll talk about everything then…”

It had been so long since she had a friend and honestly? She was very much looking forward to having one again.
