21-24: Amazing! You pull out a rock that has quite a few gemstones poking out, which means there's more inside. This could be enough to create a jewelry set, or even sell it raw for a good amount of coin.

It had been quite some time since Mnyiri had gone off to study in Chiume. Azehra fascinated her, as did all of Aisha's true daughters, and while Zakia couldn't blame her she still missed the woman. She'd grown up at Mnyiri's side, traveling between Zena and Jauhar yearly like their own little nomadic tribe, and there was something about being left behind that felt raw.

It was her own decision, though, so Zakia tried not to let it bother her. She was studying the way of the huntress under Maud, the Zenan she'd come to live with, but now that she had a younger sister...Well, letters could only do so much.

She needed time with someone she could talk to so when Zakia learned that Kuno was in the area she'd invited him for a little activity.

Even after spending half her life in Chibale, Zakia still managed to pick up a Northerner's lifestyle. She took to wearing furs fairly easily and even if everything had to be specially made for her size she never really minded; it just gave her an excuse to put her own flare on things.

Hearing Maud grumble about their mouthy guest, Zakia bid the smaller earthling goodbye and snatched up her own knapsack, as well as her bow, before heading out. She had to duck to get under the doorway, and once the sun caught Kuno's hair she smiled. "Well well, you're as short as ever, but look'it those arms! You'd give any Sister a run for her money."

Looking back she saw Maud standing in the doorway. The older Zenan was picking her teeth with a hare's rib and glaring at Kuno. She never much cared for visitors; even less when they were as distracting as the boys were. "Whel, ya two gonna stand around all day or are ya getting off my land?"

"We're going, we're going... Take care of yourself and don't touch that hide until I get back. I'll finish tanning it when I get back."

"Just don't come bak with ayy baby in yer belly ayn' that there'll be darn good enough." She pinned Kuno with another hard look before going inside.

Absolutely mortified Zakia slowly turned back to Kuno. Her cheeks were enflamed and even when she spoke there was a quiver there. "She uh...she doesn't know how Aishans...you know, that's enough, let's go."

She couldn't help it; Kuno's laugh was infectious. As soon as he started she gave in to one of her own and it helped to relieve some of the embarrassment that darkened her cheeks. "She's definitely something." Her own mother may have been one to make bold statements, but it was always from the sidelines. Maud found a target, zeroed in on it and make her presence quite clear.

"Maud aside...I heard from some stories from a few travelers. Apparently a smuggler's caravan tipped in the river and spilled a bunch of treasure. I thought we could check it out since it's on the way; see if we find anything good."

They were close enough that Zakia could have easily gone on her own before he came, but honestly, where was the fun in that?

"Well, they were traveling, but they weren't exactly nomadic. Little too fancy for all that." Which either meant it was all some sort of big lie meant to pass time on the road or it actually was real. "I'm hoping they just didn't want to get their cloaks wet and that there's something actually there for us to nab."

As she walked Zakia had to catch herself from time to time. She was so used to walking brusquely about that she had to remind herself she was with an earthling and take the time to slow down. "If we do end up finding something then we'll have to be sure to tell Azreal all about it." Aka, to rub it in his face.

It didn't take long for the river to come into sight and even as she was rolling the satchel off her shoulder, Zakia talked about the possibilities. Wouldn't it be nice to find crystals or gold? Something to buy saddles, arrows or cloaks...When she had her things properly placed to the side, the alkidike looked to the river.

"Wanna make a bet? Whoever finds the best treasure doesn't have to set up camp tonight."

Thankfully the river wasn't entirely made up of shallows. It deepened quite a bit near it's center so Zakia was able to walk out further before crouching and scoring the river bed. "When I find the rarest of gems I'll make it into a muzzle for you." She shouldn't have said anything at all! Still, the quickness of her response and the flush to her cheeks said far more than Zakia was willing to let on.

"What are you going to do when you pick up a shiny pebble? Paint it up like a diamond?

Zakia quickly dipped her arm into the water and sent a heavy splash his way. "Would you stop!" Still, she couldn't help the laugh, no matter how embarrassing it was. "There is nothing going on between us. He's as annoying as a thorn in my boot; always has been." If anything her words was likely only going to spurn Kuno on, but Zakia couldn't help it. She always got so flustered talking about him and she didn't know why.

Or maybe she just didn't want to admit it.

With her arm still in the water, she brushed against a rather large stone, and the oddness of it had Zakia looking down. Once the water had cleared she could see it fully and a devilish smirk pulled at her lips. Slowly, dramatically, the aishan lifted it for inspection. A large, hefty stone rotated in her grasp with various gems peeking out and likely countless more inside.

"Soooooo what'cha got, Kuno?"

"Sure you're not." Zakia's words practically dripped with smooth pride. She tucked her finder under her arm and started to made her way toward shore. "Take your time, take your time; the sun's going to be out for a while yet and I can wait." Serves him right for getting her so riled up. Maybe she should even make him cook while she was at it? Nah, that would be too much, but still...

"I like my tent set up away from the morning sun, by the way." Looking down at the gems, Zakia gave the stone a little rotation and had a thought. Instead of selling it or breaking it into smaller bits she was going to send it to her sister. Calixa could decide what to do with it, but whatever she picked it was likely to make the girl smile.
