The world had become so simple when Tortali stopped thinking in shades of gray. When things were black and white. Order and Chaos, good and evil…everything was so much easier to understand. She could do things instead of angsting about them. And, that was how she found herself silently stalking a chaos aura, cracking her knuckles as she walked.
They were less powerful than she was, and that was good. She always enjoyed having the upper hand in a fight.
Though, when the Negaverse officer came into view, Tortali had to pause for a moment because it was a very tall, very buff…very attractive woman, and for a moment, her resolve seemed to shatter, but she swiftly picked up the pieces and moved in.
With a soft, sharp battle cry, her leg swept behind the lieutenants, kicking right at her shins, hoping to…well. Hoping to shorten the height difference, and grab the upper hand in this fight right off the back.
The element of surprise was always best, and if you could get the enemy on the ground before they had a chance to attack back…
Well. That was just good sense, wasn’t it?

Akaganeite was starting to get used to ambushes. It seemed, to her, that the other side was brutal and violent, and very inclined to want to continue to perpetrate that violence upon whoever they could get their hands on.
All while sanctimoniously crying about how much "better" they were.
There was a battle cry, and she started to turn, but was a little too slow--the hit to her shins made her hiss and stumble, and she had to twist to drive her elbow towards her new enemy. With the aura upon her, she could tell it was stronger than her--not good, and she would have to hit as hard and fast as she could and just...run.
So she was silent in her retaliation, praying that she could do a brutal couple of hits, take this woman--who was smaller and slighter than her, at least--down quickly, and get away.

Tortali gave a choked sound of surprise when the elbow met with her gut, and she stumbled backwards, coughing and shaking her head to try to clear it. Damn, not only was this ******** Amazon big but she was strong too.
“Hard elbow you have there.” It was meant to be a taunt, but the breathless way it was delivered…didn’t lend any might to it.
Hopefully the chaos filled b***h wouldn’t notice, but if she did…well.
The incoming fist headed right to her face would be enough to distract her. And if it wasn’t…well.
That would be something for future Tortali to figure out.

There was a fist coming for her face. Akaganeite moved, but it still glanced her cheek, and it was still a solid enough hit that she suspected it would bruise.
"You throw good punches," she said, a return compliment for a compliment. "But perhaps you sohuld not sneak up on people if you don't want to be elbowed." There was a lilt of almost-amusement in her voice. Yes, she was outmatched magically, but physically...well, she liked to hope she could hold her own.
She swung her own fist, but aimed low, going for the gut. Her end was to disable--to bring her opponent to her knees, so that she might escape before magic got involved and things got out of her reach.

“Perhaps I wouldn’t have to sneak up on people if there wasn’t those infected with chaos in the city. Maybe you should give up the chaos and less people would punch you.” She gave a grin before wincing as again, the air seft her lungs. “...You’re very strong. ********. Ow.” Tortali stumbled back a few steps, trying to catch her breath and holding a hand over her stomach, her whole midsection aching from the blow from the elbow and now the fist.
“Okay, okay. Enough aiming for my stomach. Wasn’t that how Houdini died or something? Too many punches to his gut. s**t. Do you work out? You must. You’re like, solid ******** muscle.”
It would be kind of attractive if the oozing feeling of chaos didn’t come along with it. And honestly, she was sure Anella would think so too. They both appreciated attractive women, after all.
“You’re wasted with them, I don’t mind telling you. And they don’t deserve you.”

"I did not choose this," Akaganeite said, "but I do not think that I would undo the choice if I had the opportunity." She let the Senshi stumble backward, and crossed her arms, taking a step back to give space. If her opponent attempted anything sneaky, she would simply have to keep fighting.
The reference made her wrinkle her nose, though. "Who?" She asked, confused. The name didn't ring any particular bells--perhaps she needed to read more, since apparently this was someone she should be familiar with.
"In any case, yes, I do work out. Kyokushin karate. And I am quite happy with Chaos, thank you. Order left me behind, and I was saved."

She…didn’t choose it? Tortali swallowed, looking pained and shook her head slowly. “...Ah, he was a magician, and escape artist. Look him up if you get a chance. Crazy guy. Um…I highly doubt order left you behind. We wouldn’t do that. I wouldn’t have done that. The Order I know, those I know do their best to protect people. The ones we care about and our allies. If you were…if it happened a few months ago? In a big battle? That wasn’t order leaving you behind. That was a ******** ambush and it was a hot mess. They stole so many people…and me and my girlfriend almost got…I mean.”
She shuddered, remembering how it had felt…the chaos seeping into her, trying to overtake her. It…would have been so easy to just let it. To let go and…
Tortali shook her head and took another step towards the lieutenant. “You were stolen, not abandoned.”

The information made Akaganeite nod. She would look into it, because apparently it was common knowledge. Maybe she needed to spend a few hours on Wikipeda, absorbing whatever she could. Just so she had some actual common knowledge.
....Or maybe that was a terrible idea and she would end up knowing a lot of irrelevant things and missing "obvious" things. Ah well. She could ask Lionel for help, maybe, for what she should look into.
But this was someone else who was at the battle. Who hadn't changed. Akaganeite tilted her head to the side, thoughtfully.
"But you did not. You were not chosen," she said. "What, then, is the difference between us? Between you, and your girlfriend, and me and the nearly dozen others who were?"

Tortali opened her mouth, ready to argue. Ready to say something cruel, implying that obviously she wasn’t corrupted because she was stronger than Akagaenite, but…that would go against whatever it was she was trying to do, plus it was just…just plain mean.
“You were stolen. I don’t know what made them take you and not me, not my girlfriend, maybe it’s because we…we’ve been in this for a while? It’s been almost a decade for me, I don’t know. Maybe we were just on the right part of the battlefield…I…I don’t know. But I know we can help you. You can come be with us, we can get rid of the chaos. We’ll be your friend, I promise.”
Holding out a hand, Tortali managed a small smile, though had a niggling, nagging voice in her head asking softly if there had been something more going on. That she hadn’t been corrupted for a reason. But. That was stupid. “Come with me.”

Akaganeite took a step back when the hand was offered, shaking her head. No, no, absoluterly not.
"Why would I want that? Why would I want to lose myself all over again, to give up the life I am building--will going back restore what I lost? I do not think it will." She crossed her arms, fixing the Senshi with an accusatory look.
"If that is what you have to offer--suggestions that I give up everything I have gained for no real benefit--I think we are done here."

Tortali paused and her face fell. Anger erupted over her expression after a moment, but she just gave a disgusted noise, turning on her heel. Honestly, she didn’t trust herself to speak. DIdn’t trust herself not to punch this b***h lieutenant again.
If they were done here, fine. They could be done here.
But that simply meant that Tortali wouldn’t hold anything back if they ever had the misfortune to meet again.
And why would she? This b***h was too weak to resist corruption, and too stupid to accept help. She didn’t deserve to make it out of this alive.
