Legendary
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
It all started as rumors...strange traits that appeared after certain Earthlings and Alkdikes went on a sort of...spiritual journey. Some would disappear for days before returning with horns, or feathers down their arms, or claws in place of their hands. Others apparently would fall off a cliff only to fly their way to freedom, disappearing in the clouds and never seen again. Those were the stories that were hard to believe...but these days...more were seeing these traits first hand.
Forked tongues, fuzzy antennae, spikes across their skin.
Legendary people who were blessed by the gods themselves.
No one quite knows why individuals are blessed, or when they can expect it, or even what they might get in terms of this unique trait. But it's gotten regular enough that rumors and gossip is starting to spread around. Younglings are daydreaming of traits they might some day get - though not guaranteed. And some are fearing the implications of why they might get such a thing.
Uncertainty is a dangerous think - it can lead to excitement and anticipation, but it also can lead to unfound fears. Especially when the uncertainty is around something completely and utterly out of one's control.
[ Lately more and more Tendajians are being blessed with Legendary Traits. There still is no rhyme or reason around why one is selected, outside of them being older and experienced. In this prompt, explore how your character feels about Legendary traits. Maybe they cross paths with someone with such traits, or maybe they are listening to rumors. Or maybe they are hoping for what their future traits might be (right or wrong). Have fun exploring this concept in character solo or with friends. ]

She had been out for a simple stroll when she’d come across someone with a trait that wasn’t the usual. Of course Phaedra knew that it was considered ‘legendary.’ Something that happened to only a select few people and no one seemed to understand why or what requirement they met. There were plenty of theories out there but nothing was proven. Or at least, she didn’t think anything had been proven yet. If it had been then she was unaware. But seeing them and their odd trait made her take a metaphorical step back so that she could really look and study their appearance. It marked them as different. Powerful. Mature.
It also raised the question about what other traits there were that people associated with the ‘legendary’ status. Phaedra had seen the iridescent eyes and thought them beautiful. Definitely unique. And they fit that person so well. If she remembered correctly then one of the dancers at the place she had worked had iridescent patches of skin. It had only added to her beauty of course. And when she danced it was something to see. So mesmerizing.
Phae had heard that some of the fire tribe got horns. Nothing over the top, just small ones that barely poked out of their hair or on their foreheads. She did wonder if they were similar to crystals. She knew that there was a tribe that had the spiked crystals, actually more than one. Wind was one of them. She was fairly certain if they had the spiked crystals on their head it would be the same thing. Right?
The leafling had to smile again as she continued on with her walk. She wasn’t from the fire tribe like her husband, though she did get a chuckle out of the thought of Bushi with horns, so she wouldn’t get that trait if she ever managed to be blessed with the status of ‘legendary.’ There were rumors of a Tale native being blessed with spots to mimic those of a beast. While the idea was a nice one she couldn’t see herself with spots. Stripes maybe? It was possible, but she would look a bit odd.
In truth she wasn’t sure what she would look best with. An animal based trait did sound interesting but they were the leaf tribe, surely something leafy would be better. Maybe some vines in her hair? No. That might look like she had run through the trees and just forgot to take the twigs out. Phaedra laughed at the mental image.
As she turned a corner to continue on with her walk she noticed something that caught her eyes. It was simple. Easy to miss. And certainly was a common thing to see. But the janarim familiars of those around her seemed to stick out more. Or more to the point, their claws stood out. It would be interesting to have claws of her own. She did have a whole hoard of kids and grandkids to keep safe after all. Phaedra was also known to be a bit vicious when it came to family. She would always protect the large family she had. It made her husband happy to have such a large family now and she adored seeing him smile. The thought occurred to her that she might like the idea of having claws if she were to ever be lucky enough to have a ‘legendary’ trait.
“Something to look forward to then.” She said aloud to herself as she passed by a few travelers and their familiars. Phaedra did wonder if a person could have claws that looked similar to those of a janarim or if they would be more like a kinfa’s. Both were deadly if used right.
“I wonder if Bushi would get the horns or the scaled skin?” Her train of thought moved to thinking about what her husband would be blessed with. She couldn’t really see him with the horns though. Scaled skin would be more interesting but she still wasn’t sure if it would fit his personality. “Well at least it wouldn’t be something outlandish like literally being on fire.” Or at least she hoped it wouldn’t. She’d not heard of any such thing. And since she lived in Oba she would have heard about that if it had happened. “Although, that does make me wonder which trait the kids would get since they are a mixture of both.” Could they have more than one trait? Was that even heard of? It gave her something more to think about as she started her walk home.
