Date Night

Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.
The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.
Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.

For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.
[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.
Who knows, maybe this will be your character's future partner...or maybe an awkward enemy. What's the harm in the name of love?
For those who have characters already in a relationship, we're instead looking for a "Surprise Date" where one of the partners surprises the other with ad ate experience. ]

Tonight was Adenah's last night in Oba for months. As soon as the sun rose tomorrow she would be on what was set to be - hopefully - her last job with the guild. In all honesty she knew she should have been resting and mentally preparing herself for it, but there was an energy that thrummed in her blood. A sort of manic build that border lined anxiety and she hadn't been able to sit still. All she knew was that Dovian wasn't supposed to be working tonight - although the chances of him pulling extra time was high - and she wanted to spend some time with him. So, she'd forsaken all of her jewelry and more glitzy wardrobe in favor of a more simplistic one. A pair of short pants, albeit some that had gotten a little tighter after childbirth, and a tight strapped top. She'd pulled her hair back into a bun and even went as far as to bring her own gloves. Tonight she was planning a date night, but a very Dovian date. The only part she didn't have yet was the man himself.

Dovian was otherwise unaware of his lady's plans for them. He wasn't planning on pulling overtime this night. His worry over Adenah ran high and it made his focus slip. He'd already gained a new burn because of it.
He was in the process of cleaning up his work station. Tools were gathered and put where they needed to be. Mostly so he can find them in the morning. When he was done with that he went to the basin of water to wash the soot and sweat off him as best as he could.

When Adenah opened the door to the forge she wasn't surprised in the least to find him still there. Still, she was happy to at least see him packing up for the evening instead of halfway through some new project. "Well, well, well, sir; seems as if you're done with work for the evening."Sauntering over with an absolutely devilish look, Adenah lifted her gloves and waved them a bit. "Got any plans or do you want to have a little fun?"

He heard the forge door open and was about to tell whoever it was that they were closed for the night but the voice that reached his ears stopped him. Dovian smiled as he turned his head to look at who it was. "Yes, Ma'am." He folded his arms in front of his chest, ignoring the dripping water for now. "No plans that I was aware of, what did you have in mind?" His gaze travelled down her body to take in what she was wearing. It was a bit dressed down from her usual. No jewelry or anything like that. With a single raised brow he gave a questioning look.

He may have been able to ignore the water, but Adenah definitely couldn't. Her eyes lingered on the way the moisture gave his skin a shine, even if some areas were dripping with liquid soot. When she finally did manage to focus back on him there was a smirk there. "How good are you at repairing carts?" It was hardly the most romantic thing she could bring up, but Adenah had a plan. "I'm leaving tomorrow and the cart I have been using is rough. So, I thought the two of us could spend a little time working on it and adding some finishing touches." Going out and spending money on festivals might have worked for her, but it didn't for him. She didn't feel right taking him along to a play or some sort of dance, but this...Maybe he could teach her a thing or two? And they could spend time working on something together.

He studied her as she seemed to be entranced with his current state. Dovian almost thought he'd have to snap his fingers at her to get her to focus again, but she managed to reign herself in on her own. Of course he couldn't help the smirk her wore after. "I hope you don't get that distracted when you're working." A lapse in focus like that could be disastrous. At being asked how he was at repairing carts he furrowed his brow in confusion for a second. "I'm decent at it but its not what I do all the time." He'd had to fix a few for the forge and some clients brought some in to have the metal fittings fixed. "Depends on what all needs doing. We might be able to fix it up."

Adenah rolled her eyes with a little snort. "As if. I flirt a little here and there, but my tastes are pretty specific." She definitely appreciated the finer things in life, even vocalized them from time to time, but there was really only one soul that could take her off her game like that. Digging around in a pack at her side, Adenah pulled out a scrap of paper with a few things written on it. "Not much. Structurally it's in pretty good shape, but some of the joints need reinforcement and the drivers seat is completely shot. If I'm taking this thing to the edge of creation I'd at least like it to be comfortable, but I don't' want to spend a life's savings on a new one."

He snorted a little at her insistence that she had specific tastes. Dovian didn't mind that she flirted. It helped her with her job. And if she did good on a job she was safer. Besides that, his jealous side usually only showed when he was sleep deprived. "Uh huh. Remind me to stay away when you are working then. Can't have you doing that." He pointed at her face as he said it. "Seat is an easy fix. Some springs, a rod or two, and a board." Well there was more to it than that but he knew how to fix that. Dovi held his hand out for the list. "Lets see what you need and I'll grab a few things. I have parts around the shop." He might mainly do weapons but he did work on other things occasionally.

Adenah handed over the list to Dovian and started to resituate her things. She stowed her gloves away in a pouch on her side, and checked over what supplies she'd managed to scrounge up on her own. "I have a few tools with me, as well as some gold that we can use to buy what else we need." The list itself was pretty straight forward and basic, except for one spot at the bottom; -Padding for the seat
-New spokes for the left front wheel
-A blanket to test the carts stability
-A kiss
-Some wine

He took the list from her and took a look over what all was needed. Dovian made a humming noise and nodded his head, one hand tapping the paper lightly. "I have most of this in the shop. The wine we'll need to buy." He shook his head with a slight smile. "Ah, this one though.. that might be difficult. Kind of expensive." He pointed to one of the things on the list, his smile turning into a smirk. "A kiss cost quite a bit these days." He made a show of handing the list back to her with a shake of his head and sigh. "If we can't get one does that mean your trip is delayed?"

As he looked the list over, Adenah's fidgety fingers found their way to the closest table top. She found a bit of shiny metal there, clearly some sort of scrap and started to flip it over her fingers. When he started talking about expenses she turned back to him, just in time to see that little smile and then that smirk...Gods, she couldn't believe the way her heart fluttered just seeing it. "Do you think we could get it on a loan? Four payments spread out over the season? My reputation won't cover it, but surely yours will~" She traded the bit of metal for the list and folded the paper before stuffing it into her pocket with a sigh of her own. "Unfortunately, that ones a bonus. With or without it, I have to go."

"Ah.." With Ade taking the list back he moved so that his arms slipped around her waist and pulled her closer to him. "Well then I guess we'll have to get you a few extra." Dovian pressed a kiss to her temple first. "On loan of course." The next kiss was to her cheek. "You will have to pay them back." A kiss to her jaw. "With interest." He trailed his way to his fiance's mouth with little kisses. Since he had most of the other stuff he was in no hurry to make it to the market at the moment. He wanted to enjoy the time he had with Adenah.

When he pulled her close she gave a little 'mmm' and snuggled close, only to start tugging back with little laughs. Everytime he playfully placed his kisses she ducked and smiled, half heartedly pushing against his biceps with her hands. "With interest? Gods above, I'll be in debt for the rest of my life." Honestly, what was she supposed to do when he was being so utterly adorable and sweet? They really needed to leave and get to work, but just spending time with him right here, just as they were, was enough to make her forsake everything else. Well, almost everything. There were two little souls in Matori that needed her and it was because of them that she kept her head. "Are you sure you're not part of the thieves guild officially?"

"Having you indebted to me for the rest of your life sounds good." He rumbled against her neck as he placed a few more kisses there. Her question about being part of the thieves guild made him chuckle against her skin before he stood up to look at her, again with that smirk. "Honorary member." A final kiss to her lips and he took a step back. "Lets fix your cart so I can enjoy putting you in debt more." Dovian jerked his head toward the door as he moved to grab the few things on her list that were in the forge.
