Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.
The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.
Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.

For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.
[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.

Zota had spent hours getting ready for this blind date, but her heart felt ready to leap into her throat. Usually a social butterfly, this situation was entirely new to her. There were so many questions. So much uncertainty. So much potential for disaster!
Yet.. there was also the potential for something wonderful.
She gave herself one last staredown in the mirror before letting out a deep breath and pulling up a smile. She could either panic, or she could accept the challenge and try to make a friend. The choice was clear. A clip was adjusted in her meticulously arranged messy bun and she headed back toward the town center where she had been told to meet her blind date.

His mentor had signed him up for the blind date thing saying that he needed to get out more. Apparently spending all his time at the clinic wasn't a teen thing.
So he'd dressed in his best and made his way out. Tiam left his hair alone, the way he usually wore it wasn't all that bad anyways - down with some braids and rings. He was nervous about who his date would be but at the same time was excited to be able to meet someone new.

It couldn't have been a better day for a date! The air was warm, the streets of town busy but not overly crowded, and the breeze was gentle and sweetened by the scent of the nearby bakery.
Zota approached the fountain, keeping an eye out for her date. Everyone hanging around the fountain seemed to be occupied... To pass the time, she sat on the fountain edge and looked up at the sky. There were only a few wispy clouds above, but it was enough to occupy her until her date arrived.
The scent of the bakery was so delicious though... Hopefully her date would enjoy getting a snack!

Sadly, Tiam was a bit late getting to his blind date. Not terribly so, but enough to make it noticeable. When he arrived he looked around almost frantically, hoping his date didn't leave so he could explain his tardiness. Slightly out of breath he scanned the faces.
When he noticed Zota at the fountain he took a deep breath and walked over as calmly as he could. "Hello. Are you Zota, my date for the eve?"

Zota was quite content daydreaming about sweet breads that she didn't focus on the voice until she heard her name. She gave a polite smile when her eyes landed on the leafling, but her cheeks flushed slightly. Speaking of snacks.....
"Yes. You must be Tiam." She stood up and offered her hand in greeting. "Thank you for coming out with me tonight. I have been looking forward to it."

Tiam smiled at her and took her hand in his own so that he could bring it up and place a chaste kiss to the back of it. "Nice to meet you. I was looking forward to it too, sorry I was late." The leafling released her hand as he spoke.
He moved a bit so that he angled his body to the right and motioned with his hand. "Shall we?" He wanted to take her to get something to snack on before he took her to the lake side. This time of year was when the fireflies came out and it was really special to see in the evening. Unless she had something else in mind.

Such a charmer already! "It is alright. I haven't been waiting that long." It had been a hot minute, but her imagination had made the time go by quickly. His looks were certainly worth the wait, but she was eager to find out if the inside matched.
She nodded and gently hooked her hand around Tiam's elbow. Before they got anywhere though, she bit her lip bashfully. She wanted to see if her date had anything planned, but the sweets had been taunting her since she had arrived! "I couldn't help but to notice the amazing smells coming from the bakery. Would you mind if we stopped there for a moment?"

When she grabbed onto his arm he smiled at her then tucked his arm close to keep her from getting separated easily. He was about to start leading the way when he noticed her look and then she spoke. Tiam chuckled and smiled widely. "Of course. I was going to suggest something to snack on before we went to the lake. Anything in particular you want?" It would given him an idea on whether or not his date had a sweet tooth he could cater to.

Zota grinned in turn. The lake! That sounded like a lovely idea! "Oh, I know exactly what I would like." She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. Gods, the bakery smelled amazing. "They have these little cinnamon apple rolls that are just divine! We could split a pack if you would like to. You may certainly order whatever you would prefer, of course."

He smiled at her. The fact that she already knew what she wanted, and even picked something they had on their menu, said she knew the place. So he felt confident in going to the place. As she told him he could certainly order whatever he preferred he simply bowed his head. "If you don't mind I'd like to go with your recommendation and split the pack." Tiam figured since she knew what she was getting then there was no way he wouldn't like it.

"Okay." Zota blushed lightly and headed into the shop to place the order. The four rolls came in a small box. Perfect for splitting with someone. How romantic would this be?! Splitting a pack of delicious cinnamon rolls by a picturesque lake! Zota felt like she could be in a little story book! No matter if this went anywhere after the date was over, she would surely remember today in nothing but a warm and positive light.
She added on a tart but light drink for them to balance and chase down the rolls and turned to Tiam with an excited grin. "I'm ready. Which lake are we going to?"

Tiam smiled as his date seemed excited about the choice that was made. Since she knew what to get he stayed back a step or two while she ordered. Once everything was gotten he offered to carry everything and even offered his arm for Zota. "I don't actually know the name of it. I will admit to not paying much attention." Tiam felt his cheeks warm a little at the embarrassment. "But its the one that is just on the outer edge of town. I promise not to take you too far in case you aren't comfortable." He wanted to make Zota feel like she was safe so she could enjoy her time. If it went well he was considering asking for a second, though he had to admit he did fear she'd say no.

Such a gentleman... She handed over the bottle, but held onto the box so Tiam didn't have to carry all of it. She happily took his arm as well, hugging herself close enough to be affectionate but hopefully not improper. "That's okay. As long as you know where we're going." Zota smiled encouragingly, allowing Tiam to lead the way.
By the time they arrived at the lake, Zota felt almost completely at ease. Tiam was utterly charming and easy to talk to... While she wasn't quite bold enough to request a second date outright, she already knew that she would be happy to meet with Tiam again if he asked. "Oh! This one is Scorra Lake! ..I don't know if that's actually the name, but that's what people around here call it." She looked around a moment and pointed to a gathering of colorful, elegant birds wading in the shallows. "There's a flock of scorra that have lived here from before I was even born." A beautiful setting for a first date!

He was pleased when Zota took his arm and didn't seem at all bothered by her closeness. When they arrived and she told him the name of the lake he looked over at the Scorra. "Well, that makes sense. If I'd of thought about it I guess I could have just said the lake with the flock of Scorra." He chuckled a little at his own lack of sense there.
He picked out a spot for them to sit, making sure it was dry enough for Zota to not get her clothing wet. "I'm fairly new to the area so I don't know much about it, but this lake has been a favorite spot since I got here." Tiam had moved here with his mentor so he could learn at his side but it left him precious little time for personal things. "Since you seem to know more than I do then I might have to trouble you for a tour sometime." Tiam figured that would be a subtle way to ask her out again but he did look away a bit shyly as he once again felt his cheeks warm up.

Once she was carefully arranged on the blanket, Zota opened up the rolls and the drink. Little cloth napkins had been included with the snack, and she daintily place one over her lap before tearing off a roll for herself. It really was a beautiful scene...
Her head practically perked up at the mention of a tour, cheeks flushing happily. It wasn't exactly a second date, but definitely close enough in her mind! "I would be glad to show you around, Tiam." Resisting the urge to giggle like a school girl, she took a bite of the delicious roll and started thinking of other, possibly romantic places she could show him.
