Date Night
Solo or RP Format Counts as 5 RP growth Points Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7
Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.
The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.
Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.
---
For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.
[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.
Who knows, maybe this will be your character's future partner...or maybe an awkward enemy. What's the harm in the name of love?
For those who have characters already in a relationship, we're instead looking for a "Surprise Date" where one of the partners surprises the other with ad ate experience. ]

[ Zayana 1 ] As she stood in the midst of a crowd in a small town in Sauti, Zayana painfully noticed how much she stood out. She towered over the earthlings that mingled over the spicy drinks of the region, many sneaking peeks at the Elaria and whispering behind their hands. More than once she swore she saw someone sign in relief when they realized they weren't paired with the girl. Gritting her teeth, she cursed under her breath her daughter yet again. Mom, you have to get out more.
Mom, you need to find someone to relax with.
Mom, at least give it a shot! The prodding and pleading only could be managed for so long until finally she gave in, and put her name into the proverbial hat and wait until her partner for the night appeared. Hopefully this wouldn't be as painful as she expected it to be.

That damned nosy innkeeper really shouldn't have done this. San'thari was more than alright with spending another year alone. All she needed was her plants. Her purpose was already found in the concoctions she mixed, helping the ill or injured with ailments and wounds. Why did everyone insist that she needed someone? No matter how she felt about it, the innkeeper she'd become friends with over the last couple of years had set her up on a 'blind date'. There was a large pit in her stomach when she'd heard the news. Now she was here in this crowd and who on earth was she supposed to be on this date with anyway? Green eyes came to land on the Aishan and her brows knit a little. She'd never met an Aishan before. Her hand came to her bangs to shove them out of her face, but she stepped closer to the other. What was she supposed to do now?

[ Zayana 2 ] Glancing at the note, Zayana evaluated the minimal information she was provided. - An Earthling (not a big deal, if she thought about it) - Goes by San'thari (hopefully she could pronounce that right) - Leaf woman (if she recalled right, the Leaf tribes were hit or miss on how they felt about outsiders) - Carries around flowers and herbs, or at least smells like themThat last one caught Zayana off guard, and as she looked out she noticed many of the dates had flowers. Why was that the 'key tip' the matchmaker had given her? Letting out a groan as she leaned back a little, Zayana hoped the woman she was meeting might have a better list of traits...or at least have been told she was meeting an Elaria considering Zayana was the only one mad enough to join this event.

The groan was heard and San'thari looked up at the other before taking a deep breath. She hadn't been told a lot, but the way the other was acting was similar to herself, and so putting two and two together... San'thari had no herbs on her, but she had a few flowers tucked into her hair, small ones in various shades simply because she tried to at least look nice. "Hello," she said, hoping her voice didn't betray her nerves. "..Would you happen to be here for a 'blind date'?" She really did try to resist the urge to use air quotes, but here she was, doing it with the last two words. "Ah, I'm San'thari if that helps." The way she stopped was almost abrupt like she was holding back saying more.

[ Zayana 3 ] The little voice that approached her made Zayana quickly collect herself - she might be a bit of a recluse, awkward at best, but she didn't want to cause any issues with this adventure. As her daughter assured her, if anything this would just be an awkward encounter and they could skip town the next day. If it all worked out...well they'd figure out the next steps if needed while still going on their little adventure. "Hello." She said, keeping her voice a bit more positive than her previous demeanor might have seemed. Looking over the woman before her, Zayana immediately felt like she might be a bit skittish. Nothing she wasn't used to, considering her recent travels, but it would need a bit of a gentle hand. "San'thari, yeah." She asked after a quick glance to her slip of paper, "I'm Zayana. Looks like we're a pair tonight."

With a deep breath after the confirmation, San'thari gave a little bit of a warmer smile to the other woman and nodded. "Well, at least the most awkward part is over," she gathered. It was nerve-wracking trying to figure out who was who. She put her hands behind her back and then glanced around before back up at her. "Zayana. That shouldn't be hard to keep straight." A nice and simple name. "What are the plans? You seem to be more informed than I am of things," she said, gesturing to the paper in Zayana's hand. "I was just told I was matched and to have flowers on me somewhere, really.."

[ Zayana 3 ] She blinked at the easy acceptance of the smaller woman before her, before letting her shoulders relax and a smile cross her face. She was getting better, after all these years, with her interactions with others. Sure, she was a bit cold like her mother, but her curiosity was still there, and her daughter's energy was infectious at times. Focusing back at the task on hand, she glanced about, "To be honest, I'm mostly passing through. My daughter encouraged me to join in the festivities. Most Aishans are open to being partnerless, but I know that's not always the case elsewhere." She shrugged, "I guess we can wander about, or maybe find something to eat and get to know each other..."

"A daughter? How nice! Is she older? What is her name?" San'thari didn't have much interaction with children, but she always did enjoy watching them along her own travels. When Zayana suggested wandering, San'thari nodded and gave the taller women a smile before motioning for her to start walking. She did take her own steps, hands going behind her back. "I travel a lot as well. I sell herbs and medicinal remedies. So of course, I need to go where the plants are since I have no garden or home of my own yet." Yet being the word there. She longed for her own house with a large garden diverse enough she could grow her business. Maybe add on an actual healer or two. "I've been many places. Not Oba, though. I'm... a bit intimidated. Where is the most interesting place you've been?"
