Date Night

Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.
The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.
Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.

For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.
[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.
Who knows, maybe this will be your character's future partner...or maybe an awkward enemy. What's the harm in the name of love?
For those who have characters already in a relationship, we're instead looking for a "Surprise Date" where one of the partners surprises the other with ad ate experience. ]

Subira 1 When her grandmother had told her that she was being sent on a date with someone that the matchmaker had chosen for her she could only stare at the woman with shock. The excuse about her bring gone so long and not coming back with a partner being brought up. So Subira had given in. It was embarrassing to say the least but if she didn't get along with the person, whoever they were, then she could just tell them. Surely they'd understand. Worst case they didn't get along. Best case they did. Somewhere in the middle meant she'd get a friend out of it. Opting to leave her weapon home for this, cept for a small blade she concealed in her skirt, she had nothing to keep her hands busy so she was left to fidget by picking at her nails.

It was almost painful how different Chibale was to Sulburi. Ignoring the gross differences in the population density, the social structure of the Aishan sisterhood was quite different than back home. Instead of how much gold one had, it seemed that power and experience trumped this world - and no matter how much he had he would still be seen as the bottom of the totem pole.
Svadra wasn't one to be bitter about his situation, in fact he was quite languid about how he approached life, but still the culture shock and homesickness left him longing for something a little...normal.
So when a random sister wandered about offering services in matchmaking, Svadra offered himself up as a means to make some friends, socialize a bit...and who knows? Maybe he'd find his special someone.
Now that gave him a bit of a laugh.
Still, he was surprised when the matchmaker returned with an arrangement, something shocking considering who he was. But the woman insisted that he had some fantastic traits (and a nice bloodline from his mother's side), and so he accepted it as it was and prepared accordingly.
And so, as he approached the arranged location at the arranged time, Svadra snapped out his customary fan and looked about, his bi-colored eyes searching for the descriptions of his match that were shared with him.

Subira 2 The matchmaker had given her a name only. No description to go along with it. According to the sister she would 'know them when she saw them,' whatever that meant. So Subira was left to pick on her nails in a horrible nervous habit that she really needed to break. A deep breath and and she turned around, tilting her head back a bit so that she could look at the sky. She could just imagine what her mothers would say to this little.. event? She didn't really want either of them to know about it right now. Not until she knew how it played out. When she brought her head back upright she forced a deep breath in then out slowly. "Just meeting a stranger. No problem. You met plenty of those when you went across Tendaji." She didn't have an issue with speaking to strangers before but then there were no expectations. Did this person have some of her?

There weren't too many Alkidikes around - the location was surprisingly intimate - but of the few he was able to quickly evaluate each in turn. Maybe it was the fact he had earthling eyes and therefore had better evening vision, but as he studied each with a soft fanning of his face, he finally caught sight of his date for the night.
The woman appeared tall, though Svadra was also tall and thankfully got that from his mother. She had simple markings and a feather like line that went down her front, as well as many golden accents in her dark hair. He might have called her exotic, with her outfit colors and style, to be sure. Either way, she stood out enough that Svadra knew he had his partner for the night. With a snap of his fan shutting and being swiftly hidden away in his dark, draping clothing, the Aishan male approached with ease.
"Subria, is it?" He greeted lowly, a small smile on his face as his eyes evaluated her response.

Subira 3 She moved her hands to her hair as a huff of air left her. Subira was growing it out long like Ujana's and imitating the same style as much as possible. Lifting the long dreads up she moved them over her shoulder so that she'd have something to fidget with. Not too long after doing that she heard her name. Well that must be her date because she couldn't place the voice as someone she knew. "Yes." She turned so that she could look at the person clearly. What she saw made her stop altogether. Subira's lips twitched into a smile as she took in this person's whole look. The fact that they were a hybrid only made her smile grow. "I take it you are Svadra then." Leave it to the matchmaker to figure out she had hybrid siblings and was open minded. She knew that wasn't her grandmother's doing. "An honor to be your date for the night."

Her smile was well enough, and Svadra immediately knew that this was someone more on the tolerant side of the Aishan spectrum. There were quite a few of them these days, but every so often he noticed the looks they gave him, similar to the ones he received in Oba when people realized he was a bit more fluid than most. Not that he cared, he simply was an observant type.
He made a move to settle in place, the small location quiet and relaxed for those who were matched by the matchmaker. It was intimate, to be sure, and most likely intentionally set to increase the romance factor. Svadra wasn't quite sure of the simple setting, but he didn't mind it that much.
Instead, he turned his focus back onto his 'date' for the night, nodding in turn.
"I am honored as well. And a bit surprised. I wasn't expecting to be matched so quickly, all things considered..." A casual admission, but clearly no hard feelings as he brushed his wavy dreads back over his uncovered shoulders.

Subira 4 At his admission she chuckled a bit and nodded. "Fair enough. If we're being honest I am surprised to be paired up as well." Seeing as how she'd just recently returned from leaving Chibale in the first place she didn't think anyone would have agreed to being her match. "Most sisters around here aren't exactly jumping at the opportunity to be involved with someone who might up and leave again." Subira offered a cringy smile as she rubbed at the back of her neck. "Do you have any siblings?" Subira figured she might as well find something to talk about otherwise this was going to be painfully awkward the entire time.

He leaned forward a moment at her response, raising his thin brow to show his surprise at the comment. But as she expanded, he leaned back and nodded slowly, no judgement or really much of any expression as he considered the comment for a moment.
"Roots do run deep in Chibale..." He finally replied simply, as if that was an explanation enough. But he understood, being an outsider himself, he found the differences between himself and others a bit of a canyon, metaphorically.
At her follow up question, his smile grew as his eyes glanced away and he though about his sisters.
"I have two. Both bloomed with me, but we're quite different. Kaiva and Xilya. We've all gone down our own paths."
As his smile fell a bit and his eyes focused again, he turned back toward Subira, "And you? You're a traveler...is your family not in Chibale?"

Subira 5 She made a hum of agreement to his statement. He wasn't exactly wrong. Of course she was pleased to hear he had siblings. "Triplets!? A blessing to your parents for sure." Being an only child was a lonely thing. Subira had been an only child for a few short years before Eurig had been born and she'd been super excited about it. Then the twins came and she was even more happy. So the question about her family made her grin. "Ah, my grandmother and my mentor are in Chibale. Makes it easier for training." While she wasn't exactly a young teen she still needed work on her skills. "The rest of my family is slightly scattered at the moment. One of my mothers and my younger siblings live in Jauhar. My earthling mother is traveling and I believe my earthling brother is at his father's.." At least she assumed that was where Eurig went off to. She never did get a proper answer from the twins but seeing as they were still mad at her..

He smiled the same languid smile at her comment of blessed parents. Oh yes, both seemed to love their blooms very much. IT was especially obvious once Svadra realized the truth of the situation - that even today hybrids rarely bloomed from Aisha. To have three was such a blessing indeed, and further made him proud of his heritage and happy he chose this path.
He hummed in thought, nodding as an Aishan rushed by offering meals for the dates. A plate was left between the two of them with finger foods, a mix of meats and fruits in season. He idly offered for her to take first pick of the options. Partially because he was raised to be polite, partially because he was still getting used to the food selection even after all this time.
He ticked off in his head the locations she spoke of.
"Jauhar is still quite close?"

Subira 6 "Oh yeah, Jauhar is just across the waters." She pointed to the shore and in the direction to the mainland. "My family lives about three towns in. Its a bit far but not impossible." If she left bright and early then she'd get there by late night if she walked. And that was including stopping for meals and breaks. She took a small slice of the meat off the plate that was left with them and smiled in thanks. "Where do you live? Since I'm assuming you are here for a visit." It wasn't a bad thing though. Subira thought they should have more visitors.

He glanced across where she pointed, nodding but not quite connecting what she meant by the towns and the distance. He did understand that Jauhar was a mess in terms of Aishan and Earthling settlements - the line between the two wasn't as clear past the channel. He glanced back at her and noted she had grabbed her own bite, so he took a snag of the sweet fruits. It was something sentimental enough compared to the Oban treats he was used to.
"I've found myself a little lodge nearby. I actually plan on training...though they don't let me too close to the tree." He added lightly, no remorse but simple fact. He was lucky he could even be on an isle, or so others had told him.

"Training is good. Have you selected a path?" She had to admit that she was curious. Subira had known what she'd wanted to do from a young age so she wondered if Svadra did too. "And I'm glad you found a place to stay. I know it can be hard around here." Not many tolerated hybrids around Aisha. And those that did were still jumpy. Though she trusted her siblings to be near Aisha with no issues at all. "I hope they don't treat you too badly while you are here. If they do then you can find me. I'll try to help."

"I've decided to follow the Sacred Heart path." He answered simply, "There is a master across the water who has trained hybrids like myself. It's a group I get along well enough with, and it fits my needs."
He did wish he could visit the tree more often, but still was quite sensitive to the stares, leers, and grumbles. One of his peers warned him that he had quite the challenge, not only being a hybrid but being one from Oba. There was a lot of bad blood.
"It's...satisfactory." He replied simply, before blinking a moment and leaning in more, "But I appreciate the offer. I do hope to find more allies here. After all, my goal is to join the sisterhood and protect my birthright."
Smiling languidly, he leaned back and waved the waiter over, nodding for more drinks and snacks as he settled in.
"The night is still young, how about we speak of other things and get to know each other a bit more?" While this night may have been a bit of a surprise, Svadra wouldn't say it was displeasurable. In fact, he was quite pleased to have met such an interesting, dare he say it, new friend.
