Date Night

Love is in the air and it is exhausting. It seems everyone is so excited to meet someone new and see if they 'click'. To the point where this new trend has spread across Tendaji - Blind Dates.
The concept is pretty simple - you have a friend (or a matchmaker) set up a date with someone you've never met before. Some find this exhilarating - a chance to go beyond the same old and meet someone new. But others see this as unnecessary anxiety forced upon them by their friends or society's pressure.
Either way, you find yourself set up on a date not of your choosing, with a stranger who you've never met before. This could either be the person of your dreams...or a big mistake. Guess the only thing you can do is see where this date takes you.

For those who are already in a relationship, it's hard to host a 'blind date', but you can get close. It's time to surprise your significant other with a night date, just the two of you. No family, no children, just a chance to spend time with the one you love.
[ It's date night! This prompt should include a date with a stranger, either set up by your friends or by a matchmaker. If you're RPing your character with another, we ask that it be someone new (within reason to where your character is currently located). If you're RPing alone, create a new NPC and see where the night takes you.
Who knows, maybe this will be your character's future partner...or maybe an awkward enemy. What's the harm in the name of love?
For those who have characters already in a relationship, we're instead looking for a "Surprise Date" where one of the partners surprises the other with ad ate experience. ]

There was something romantic about the soft sound of waves across the dusk touched beaches. When they first arrived to Kahikina and wandered about to get their bearings, Amarone couldn't help but notice the Hapuna land was charming under the sunset. The light drifted off in the distance, and the crest of the waves was a soft pink as it caught the dying lights. It didn't take long for the girl to decide she wanted to further encourage her traveling partner to relax, and what better way than a stroll along the beach and a small fire for a meal.
So, with quick planning under the guise of 'investigating' the locals, Amarone gathered her supplies in a pack and persuaded a water-kin to set up a secluded campfire for them to wander to. That was the easy part...finding a way to persuade the ever serious Niabi to take a break this close to the new Aishan land would require a bit of work, or so she suspected.
First she needed to find the tall Aishan woman among the colorful locals of Kahikina.

They had been in Kahikina for such a short while, but the trip was progressing and Amarone seemed to be happy collecting and documenting her travels and research. The wind earthling was still ever surprising to Niabi and was hard for her to follow intellectually. Amarone had an interest in everything it seemed.
Niabi had been standing post, waiting for whatever was planned for next on their travels and trying to do her best to look at the locals from an investigatory standpoint. She was trying to be helpful for Amarone, but it wasn’t really in her nature to observe others customs and habits. The kahikinans were very strange and hard for her to understand. She had a drink in one hand, trying to keep herself hydrated. The day felt hot and dry, even though the sun was already beginning to set, the weather hadn’t cooled to match the dying sun.

It was so strange to struggle to find her companion. Back on Tendaji, the Aishans stood out like the tall trees they called gods, but here they often blended with the tall and willowy water-kin from the rivers. Amarone often had a laugh about such things, and jested she might lose her companion if they wandered too far off from one another. But she was glad Niabi was always like a shadow, and had grown to appreciate and adore the companionship.
Finally, after walking a bit along the beach where the waves had hardened the sand, she saw her friend somewhat in the distance. Adjusting her pack, she moved closer and let out her standard shout of greeting, catching the attention of almost everyone in the vicinity, "Niabi! There you are!"

Niabi heard her name being shouted from the across the beach and immediately cocked her head and eyed the direction of her traveling companion. She outstretched her hand with the drink, acknowledging Amarone and waiting for her to close the gap between them.
”You’ve found me.” She gave a quick smirk and took another sip of her drink. ”Do you want a drink?” She offered to Amarone. ”It was made by this Kahikinan here -“ She pointed to a stall a few feet behind herself. ”I can get you one.” She finished her own drink and eyed the empty cup. ”And maybe another for myself.”

When she saw the wave, Amarone felt a burst of energy and nearly bounced over toward Niabi with a bright smile. Her energy was endless normally, but seemed even moreso when she was around someone she cared about. Looking down at the offered drink, her eyes brightened at the thought and she nodded eagerly. Amarone always was one to try something new, and so she didn't even bother to ask what was before glancing toward the Kahikinan behind them.
"Get them to go, they'll go great with the food I acquired." She raised her pack and waved it lightly.

Niabi smiled warmly to Amarone and put in the order for the new drinks. Once they were finished, she grabbed the drinks and closed the gap between her and Amarone again. “Lead the way. It’s been a long day, I’m ready to relax with some dinner.” It would be nice to spend some time with Amarone outside of researching and exploring. Some well deserved downtime.

As they walked down the beach, Amarone easily fell into the same routine of their discussions, light hearted and all over the place. It was a quick walk, and as they got closer the girl began to quiet up and smile brightly, bouncing about and very obviously not being good at hiding the surprise. Or maybe it was the secluded beach with a small bonfire and the gentle rush of waves that might have given away her intent.
"We've been traveling so much these days, I figured it might be nice to take a moment and enjoy the beauty of Kahikina."

Niabi relaxed as they walked, sipping on her drink and listening to Amarone bounce from subject to subject, adding her own thoughts in occasionally. It was something she had some to enjoy about Amarone. She didn’t need to think about keeping a conversation going or what to talk about next because Amarone’s mind was always moving. She also didn’t need to feel shy to share her opinions; Amarone was open to all points of view and took it all in stride. Sometimes Niabi felt as though Amarone thought of her as a unique intimate look at Alkidike thoughts, though she wasn’t sure how close to the rest of the Alkidike her views really were.
They had reached their destination and Amarone was near exploding out of her place next to her, she could feel the excitement. the fire was beautiful against the newly set sun and the embers sparked in and out like stars in the night sky.
”It looks wonderful.” She smiled to Amarone and took a seat on the ground, settling into the hard packed sand near the fire. ”Come join me.” She offered a hand to help the wind earthling to sit next to her.

The reaction from her friend warmed Amarone's heart, once again reminding her how much she adored her traveling companion. They were friends, more than friends maybe, or at least her heart beat in that direction. Amarone wasn't a romantic, but she did make sure to examine herself and these feelings often kept her up late at night. She prodded and poked them and molded them for ages before determining that they were more than a simple friendship.
Taking the hand, she eagerly settled down next to the taller girl and looked out to the sea, leaning back on her palms as the fire kept her warm.
"It's a wonder to consider how long we've been together...time is quite interesting with how it can feel so long and yet so short at the same time."
She hoped their trip would never end.

Niabi nodded at Amarone’s words. Time was such a strange thing. It had felt like it had taken forever to get to Kahikina but thinking back at the trip it also felt so short. It had been over a month since she had left Chibale to start traveling again.
”It’s been a very strange journey, but it’s been… enjoyable so far.” She tried to think of the words to describe how it was that she felt, but it eluded her. She was happy traveling with the little wind woman, and thankful for that chance encounter in the forests of Jauhar. If she hadn’t crossed paths with Amarone she would probably still be on Chibale, afraid to leave home.

Maybe it was the atmosphere, or maybe it was her tendency to just dive in without much afterthought. Either way, as Niabi spoke slowly, Amarone's heart moved quickly and she spun a little bit to face fully at her companion. Eyes bright against the dying light, similar enough to the color of the sea, she looked up unwavering at her partner.
"I've also enjoyed your companionship." She replied simply, for once not babbling away as her cheeked reddened slightly, "I must admit, I do not wish for it to end. I'm curious if you're of the same mind?" Tilting her head and leaning slightly closer, she diverted her eyes only a moment before resting her hand on Niabi's with a tentative, yet sweet smile. Or so she hoped.

A multitude of thoughts bubbled up through Niabi’s mind. Her brain brought up some of the more significant events in her life and how they all brought her here to this moment.
She looked at Amarone, seeing her eyes move away from Niabi before touching her hand. Niabi flipped her hand over slowly to close around Amarone’s, holding it gently. ”I think I’m of the same mind.” Niabi leaned closer, closing her eyes and closing the gap between Amarone and herself. She touched her lips to Amarone’s and hoped that she wasn’t being too bold, that maybe Amarone would return the show of affection.

Bold was welcome for the smaller earthling, her smile growing as her partner leaned closer and Amarone rushed forward to meet Niabi the last few inches. Her whole body hummed and she felt as if she were glowing. She had to be as bright as the setting sun, and she knew her smile was once she pulled back.
"If only I could bottle this feeling..." She whispered as she squeezed the larger hand that was entwined with her own, looking down at it in marvel and amazed at how the buzzing and bubbling seemed to settle into a gentle warmth. Love, adoration, contentment. It was all something she wasn't quite sure about before, but it all felt perfect now. As perfect as the companion next to her.
Regretfully pulling away, Amarone reached over to reveal their snacks, the silence comfortable as she started to pull it out and display it for them to share. They could talk later, but for now she was happy with where they landed, her cheeks still warm and her lips tingling from the sweet kiss.

Niabi felt her own rush of emotions at the enthusiasm of the returned kiss. Amarone seemed to feel the same way that had crept up on Niabi the past month. It was strange to her, the waves of emotions she thougth she wouldn’t feel again.
Niabi hummed in agreement at Amarone’s words, watching the wind earthling pull out food for their date and enjoying the feeling of contentment that had settled over her.
