Senshi: Dark Mirror Sailor Murikabushi, Senshi of Hunger (IAU Minor Planet Center)

UNIFORM: My concept art. Official art forthcoming (I wanted to get him stamped before getting the art commissioned), to be filled with an MYO slot that Noir purchased for me! The general overall vibe is the love child of Marie Antoinette, Madame de Pompadour, and Gothic Lolita fashion.

Tiara — purple ribbon draped between pink pearls, going all the way around Murikabushi’s head. At the center of his forehead is a silver pendant that looks like a smaller version of his brooch. (inspiration, taken from a painting of Marie Antoinette)

Collar & Chest Bow — Thick, structured ribbon (red with purple satin piping), lined with black lace ruffles along the hems. Creates a wide, open, deep-cut neckline, somewhere between a boat-neck and a sweetheart neckline, detached from the bodice, with his chest bow tied at the center. Bodice & Dark Mirror Overlay — Black leotard/swimsuit-style bodice. From bust to waistline, styled like an overbust corset, with violet over the boning. That styling ends at a violet, v-shaped belt above where his skirt attaches. The Dark Mirror Court overlay (dark purple, but translucent/transparent) attaches along the bodice’s upper hem/bustline, with a thick stripe of purple satin holding it in place. The overlay fits like a surcoat, resting close to the bodice, then the skirt and panniers, until it ends shortly above the skirt’s bottom edge. The satin from the top continues down, lining the overlay’s hems, and matching ribbons cross over each other down the chest, tying the overlay together.

Bottoms —Black, attached to the bodice. The skirt is fairly short on a pair of very long legs, but it is voluminous, continuing to showcase the Marie Antoinette, rococo, Versailles, etc. styling (inspo). The body of the skirt has layers of ruched silk draping, pinned around pink pearls. Overall, the ruched parts similar to the designs on skirts like these (from Gaia’s various “Charmed Rose” sets) and these takes on Belle’s yellow gown from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, arranged in three tiered layers (same basic idea as this skirt’s tiering, but with the different design).

Structurally, his skirt sits on a wide set of “abrupt-shouldered” panniers (i.e., they’re bigger and wider than hips should be on someone with Murikabushi’s proportions, and they jut right out to their full width, rather than sloping in gradually), a la court fashion at Versailles (inspo 1, inspo 3, inspo 3), designed to make the waist look smaller and more tightly snatched, even when it’s not. Fluffy pink petticoats help give it some extra flounce, and peek through the bottom hem ever so slightly.

Brooch — Round and silver, with inlaid amethyst in the shape of Murikabushi’s sigil: a serpentine dragon curled in an ouroboros circle, but perpetually chasing its own tail, unable to actually catch it, much less devour it.

Sleeves — Detached from the bodice, and stylistically inspired by these kinds of Marie Antoinette sleeves, albeit not quite as opulent, at first stage. Top band is a purple satin ribbon (like the lining of his purple overlay), with a small black ruffle over it, then two tiered rows of black chiffon making up the actual sleeve.

Gloves — Black, half-fingered opera gloves, go high enough up his arms to meet his sleeves. They have red ribbons on the upper hems, around his biceps, tied into red bows to match his collar, sash, and butt-bow.

Sash & Buttbow — Red satin, gathered up and fastened at his waist with his brooch, then draped down around the ‘hips’ of the panniers (inspo 1, inspo 2, inspo 3). The different sides come together in the back to make the butt-bow.

Shoes — A body like this pair (sleek pumps with a pointy toe and a decently sized, spiky heel), with a brocade pattern more like this pair, but done in some combination of purple, red, and black. Like the second pair, has modest pink frills around the edge of the shoes’ vamp, and a little pink bow over the toe-box.

Accessories — Transparent purple overlay, per Dark Mirror uniform requirements, discussed above. Murikabushi also has black thigh-high stockings keeping his legs covered (they stop just shy of where his fluffy pink petticoats peek out), and the standard Dark Mirror metallic bracers: silver, with their edges given a more triangular look (not sharp enough to be weaponized, but harsh and angular enough to contrast with the more flowing, drapey, opulent look to the rest of his uniform).


Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Gnawing Hunger.
Extending an arm, Murikabushi bends his wrist back; as he calls the name of his attack, he curls his fingers into a fist, then jerks his hand down as if tugging a cord. Enemies within 10 feet of him begin to feel a powerful hunger or sense of craving, one they feel cannot be sated, and yet, they are compelled to try. This craving can be for anything—food, drink, affection/intimacy, alcohol or narcotics, the answers to the math homework, etc.—but it is quite distracting. This spell lasts for 25 seconds, and Murikabushi can use it three times per battle.


Super Sailor Scout Attack: Ravenous Hunger.
Extending an arm, Murikabushi bends his wrist back; as he calls the name of his attack, he curls his fingers into a fist, then jerks his hand down as if tugging a cord. Enemies within 15 feet of him are wracked with an intense hunger—the sort of hunger that gnaws at your insides, like you haven’t eaten all day. The craving can be for anything—food, drink, affection/intimacy, alcohol or narcotics, the answers to the math homework, etc.—and enemies are compelled to satiate it, but find it even more difficult to do so than they would expect. In addition to the intensity, this hunger makes them feel somewhat sluggish, making it harder for them to think, decide what to do, and see any actions through to completion, even those that they believe will satiate their hunger. Affected targets are still capable of acting and fighting back—though people may react to Murikabushi’s hunger differently—but until the hunger abates, they will struggle.

This spell lasts for 35 seconds, and Murikabushi can use it twice per battle. Additionally, this magic can be varying degrees of thrown off or ignored with focus, determination, practiced self-neglect that makes one feel like this hunger isn’t so bad, being accustomed to deprivation and therefore more capable of powering through the effects, magical protection, or some other, similar means of resistance.



Eternal Sailor Attack: Starvation Drain.
Murikabushi extends both arms, wrists pressed together and bent back. As he draws out the word “Starvation…,” he curls up his fingers; as he calls out “Drain!,” he jerks his hands back, bringing his arms in close to him and pressing his wrists to his chest. Enemies within 20 feet of him are drained of their energy, which is transferred to Murikabushi, revitalizing and strengthening him for the duration of his attack. This drain leaves targets consumed with a feeling of insatiable hunger, wracked by a void within them that can never be filled—and yet, they are compelled to try. This hunger can be for anything—food, drink, affection/intimacy, alcohol or narcotics, the answers to the math homework, etc.—but it leaves enemies desperate to satiate it, no matter the cost, what they must do, or whom they must hurt in the process.

Although affected enemies can still act and fight back, they will find this a daunting task. Targets may react to Murikabushi’s hunger differently, but the overall experience emulates the effects of extended deprivation. This means that the targets may feel dizzy, disoriented, and may be more sensitive to mental and emotional manipulation magic, as the hunger reduces them to much baser instincts. They will also experience body aches and exhaustion. These effects may linger once the attack is over, at player discretion. The attack lasts for 45 seconds, and Murikabushi may use it once per battle.
