Langite had been pleased to get the invitation from Lopezite to meet up with him for a patrol, it was nice to be remembered, and nice that his General wanted him to check in.
He arrived at the park right on time, making his way over to the General, feeling where he was by the very noticeable aura. “Good evening, General Lopezite. It has been a while, I do hope that you’ve been well.” Langite didn’t think he was in any trouble, but it was still better to just be polite about things regardless.
“I believe I have been doing quite well. I have done my best to meet my quotas, and I have been active in my patrols. I did meet someone who is not from the Earth though, you were right about people coming here. However, I have been working to convince those who are against us that they are wrong. Thus far I have managed to assist in bringing one person to our cause. And I will not stop with my attempts.”
He spoke quietly and gave a half bow to Lopezite, hoping that all he had to say would be received well.

Lopezite offered a warm smile when Langing arrived, and waved his hand in greeting. “You’re doing a great job. I’m proud of you. Things have been hectic for a while, I would have liked to check on you more to make sure how you were settling in. I’m sorry for that.”
But, sincere in his apology and his praise.
“I’ve been doing well, thank you for asking. Outside of being incredibly productive and already making a name for yourself, how have you been?”

Langite gave a smile as well. “It’s not a bother. It’s not as though I got into any trouble, if such had been the case, I would have asked to meet much sooner. I am glad to hear that you are doing well despite things being hectic. I have been fine as well, just.” He shrugged. “Going through day by day. I have been trying to make allies, trying to make connections with everyone that I meet. I want to make you proud.”
It was the truth. Lopezite had brought him into all of this, and he owed him so much because of that.
“Do you have any opinions on how to better myself? How can I get stronger so that I can better protect our home?”
It was a question that had been in his mind a lot lately. He was starting to have a hunger for it. For the ability to do more. Be more.
“I feel that there is a need, now that we are truly being invaded.”

Lopezite nodded; he thought Langite was easy to be around. Straight forward, blunt, but not in a way that he found particularly rude or jarring. It made it easy to talk to him and easy to make plans with him.
“You do make me proud, Langite. I’ll try to tell you more often. Making allies is a good start, you never know when you’ll need help. But knowing your own strengths and weaknesses and improving on them is the best bet. Are you taking care of your body? Self defense will be the most important thing at this point in time. Gathering energy will help, but that’s a skill you’ll want to keep practicing no matter what. Do you have anyone you can spar with? I’m more than willing. Especially with our guests.”
He didn’t know what to make of the Vanguard, to be honest.
They were here, and somewhat offering their services. To what end, he didn’t know. He wanted to be prepared for anything, though.

“I always take care with my body. I work very hard to remain in top health, that is not an issue, I got for long runs every morning, and do a kickboxing class on the weekends, though I will admit, my fuku does not make it easy to utilize that skill…but I’m sure if I ever get into a situation that I would need to, I would be able to.” Langite gave a wry smile, but it faded after a moment and slowly, he shook his head.
“With all due respect, I wish to have no dealings with the aliens. I don’t understand why we are allowing them to remain, to use our planet…when they are what we should be fighting against. They are invaders, Lopezite, and I don’t…trust them. I apologize.”
He looked away, hoping to hide his anger. But, it was plain on his face.

Lopezite nodded, open minded about it. He trusted Metallia, at least. “I don’t trust them either,” he assured. “But I have heard rumor that they are sharing technologies with us. If Metallia thinks they are worth keeping around, there must be a reason. We should trust in her, if nothing else. And, if they try to betray us,” he shrugged.
“There are only a few of them. We have the advantage. But it is wise to be cautious. Trust is to be earned, not freely given. I appreciate the fact that the Velencians have made clear that their goal is to leave, at least. They are temporary.”
At least, as far as he could imagine. He hadn’t really spoken to any of them so he knew only what he had been told by the Negaverse. But, he trusted them. “As long as they aren’t doing anything to threaten us or our goals, I think we’ll be fine. But, I respect your caution. I think it’s admirable to be prepared. Is there anything I can do to reassure you or help in the meantime?”

Langite shook his head, and gave a small smile, pleased that Lopezite shared his worries. It was good to know that his fears were shared by another…it always helped a person not feel as though they were over reacting. “I will agree to that. And I hope that they leave quickly. In my poor opinion, they have more than overstayed their welcome.”
Letting out a breath, Langite shook his head.
“I think that I am okay. But I appreciate you meeting with me. I would like to check in with you more often, I think. If I may. If that would be too much of a bother, just say so and I will continue to forge my own path. Though, I would be forging it regardless if we meet or not, I just don’t wish you to be pressured. I know that life is busy no matter what happens, so don’t think I will feel forgotten.”
He meant it too, it was nice to have a mentor, but all through life, he hadn’t needed one. But it was always nice to know he did have a place to turn should he need it.

Lopezite knew what it was like to be without someone looking after you, and if he could help it he wasn’t going to give anyone that experience in the Negaverse. “I won’t be pressured,” he promised. “If anything, know that you’re welcome to contact me more often. I’ll try to reach out more too, we can schedule things a bit more regularly. So you don’t feel like it’s one sided. Because, it isn’t,” he assured.
He wanted to be a better General than his had been.
“We should take this opportunity to patrol together, though. I can give you the full run down of what I’ve been working on. I’d like to hear more about what you’ve been up to, and where you want to go with the Negaverse. I want to be able to support you in everything, and help you get onto the path you want to take.”
He had faith in Langite; there was something about him, something drive.
He knew he’d go far.
Lopezite wanted to make sure he had the chance to.
