When snow fell lightly as it was doing now, Langite didn’t like it. He didn’t mind the cold, the cold was fine. Heavy snow was fine, if it were a blizzard or a snowstorm. Something substantial, that would be utterly acceptable, but the gently billowing snow flurries…always left him feeling utterly unsettled.
Normally when it was snowing like this, he spent his time inside, with the curtains firmly shut, but he had patrols to make and that wasn’t an option for him at the moment.
When he felt the order senshi in the area, he gave a soft sigh and shrugged to himself before making his way over, pausing and looking the woman over in some confusion. He had never seen a blue senshi before, nor one that had ears that were so…interesting.
The fact that she felt like a senshi ruled out any possibility that she was part youma but…how interesting.
“Good evening. It’s a dismal night to be out, don’t you agree?”

Ever since her meeting with Tristan, Dagon found herself hesitating. Constantly on the back foot, and less eager to go charging into fights. What Tristan had said--Dagon knew that her initial understanding had been somewhat muddied by magic. It seemed reasonable to her--the Senshi of Trust would make herself trustworthy.
But she had been so sincere. So sure that her beloved was not evil, that the Negaverse itself was not evil. And yet...and yet there was what Viatrix had told her. Using civilians as cattle, tearing souls out of chests.
Perhaps it was simply...complicated. The ones that had come to her planet had come conquering and to conquer. This was a bit different.
She was out on a walk, and sat dwon on a bench, hand extended to catch the falling snowflakes. It was chilly, but it was still something of a miracle to her to see weather of any kind. Dagon's skies had been still for so very long.
And now there was one of their Senshi before her, making conversation. She narrowed her eyes, slightly, distrustfully, but he was just talking. Perhaps she would benefit from being spoken to.
"It has been many centuries since I have seen snow," Dagon replied, tone idle, almost disinterested but not quite. "So it is something of a pleasant thing, for me, in fact. Light or heavy."
She was wary. Watching. Evaluating.

Langite hummed softly and shook his head. “I can imagine that it must be nice if it has been that long. It snowed like this the night my mother passed on, and I can’t stand when it’s snowing this lightly. I don’t mind snow in general, but when it’s like this, it simply brings bad memories.”
He watched her for a long moment. “You aren’t from Earth, are you? I wasn’t aware that there were senshi who were from other places. Is this new? When did you arrive here?” At least, he was assuming that she wasn’t from Earth, but she might have been simply sleeping in an undersea cave and had awakened or something similar.
“Though, you are a senshi, are you not? If I am mistaken, my apologies.”

Dagon inclined her head, briefly. "Grief colors your memories in very specific ways," she acknowledged, "and reminders can be....difficult."
She wondered how she would handle a sudden, stark reminder of the loss of Kalari or Adalinn. How being jolted back there might affect her. She knew what magic to that end did to her, but that was magic. There was...something different, she supposed, in the possibility of being surprised with it. Or haunted by it, as snow might do.
"You are correct in your guess," she said. "I am Sailor Dagon. And I am not from Earth." How much should she tell him? How much could she trust to her ostensible enemy? "Why don't we make a deal, Negaverse Senshi." She regarded him thoughtfully. "If I answer your questions about who I am, and where I came form, would you answer a few for me?"

Langite was quiet for a moment, considering. Finally he nodded. “If the questions are something I am able to answer, and if they are things that I know the answer to, yes. I will answer what I can for you, Sailor Dagon. I am Langite, and it is a pleasure to meet you.”
He gave a small, formal bow and his words seemed as sincere as his even voice could make them.
“What sort of questions do you have for me? It is only fair if we do a question for a question, and if I can not answer, or do not have an answer, I will let you know, and you may ask another, if that is acceptable?” He was quite curious. After all it wasn’t every day that someone actually met an alien.

Dagon nodded. That was fair and reasonable. There was, however, downturn to her expression, as he gave his name. It didn't seem right--but then, perhaps she was over-assuming. She certainly hadn't known every Senshi out there.
"Well, Langite, first, let me answer your remaining questions. I arrive don Earth approximately a month ago, by your calendar. I was drawn here from my world by a pull of magic, and followed it because my world is near-dead, and I had hoped I might find answers to revitalizing it here."
She regarded him, thoughtfully.
"Tell me, then: why do you fight for Chaos? I realize that is a bigger question than you've yet asked me, but it is one that....I find unsettles me. It was Chaos that destoryed my world, you see. Soldiers of Chaos, like you, who killed my wife and daughter, and who tried and failed to kill me as well. But I want to understand if the Chaos here is...different than the Chaos I know."

Langite nodded slowly, thoughtful. “I was told that I had the power to help protect the Earth from those who were here when they ought not to be. That there were people who were too stubborn to go back to their dead worlds and sought to do the same to this planet. Though, I am doubting those words slightly, as you are the only true person from off the planet that I have met, and you say you arrived recently, though…”
He looked a little amused, though there was something else in his expression. “You do have a dead world, just as I was told, so I’m not sure. Are you here to steal the life from the Earth to bring back your own planet? Or would you start a new life here on the Earth? If it came down to that choice, would you leave this planet for dead to revitalize yours?”
Her answer would truly decide what action he would take next.

"from everything I understand," Dagon said, very carefully, "the Senshi and Knights that are on your world at current were, for the most part, born here. So this is, one might say, as much their world as yours."
His question made her think. Truly consider, and turn over the answer. She wanted to see Dagon revitalized. she wanted her world to live again. Wanted to feel the sea breeze, and hear the ocean tides flow, and dance in the surf.
But there was only one answer.
"I would not see one of the few lights left int he universe put out for my selfishness," she said. "What I seek is not Earth's life-force, or whatever vital spark it still retains. I am looking, specifically, for answers as to how to drive out the poison that is killing my home. And if the answer were that I had to sacrifice a living world, for one whose last people died two centuries ago? I would not. I would find a way to make a home here, and accept that the past is lost to me forever."

Ah. A good answer. Langite nodded in approval and gave another slight bow. “Good. Then I have no objection for your being here. This is my home, and I will fight for its well being. I hope that if there is ever a threat against it, you would fight for it too. It is a lovely place for a home. I hope that you are able to find peace and happiness here. If you have lived alone with nothing but grief, you deserve some light. It isn’t today, obviously, but it will come.”
He gave a soft sigh and looked up, eyes fixed on the softly billowing snow in the light of the streetlamp.
“Spring is on the way, and you will see how truly alive the Earth is. I hope you will take the time to enjoy it. The flowers, the wildlife. It is difficult in the city, but there are many parks that have flowers, and if you leave the city, the nature is superb.”

Dagon nodded. "As you should. And as I will," she promised. She intended to put her home back together--but for the time being, she would be staying on Earth. And there was no reason, she suspected, that she could not protect both--at least so long as she was able to revitalize her home.
"Thank you for your answers," she said, "and for the advice. I will look forward to springtime."
She stood up, giving the Corrupt a brief nod. He had left her with yet more to think about, yet more to consider. What a strange world this was--but what a lovely one, that she could have so many questions.
