Sylvite hadn’t come to meet her, and Sava had taken to patrolling every night, the smooth rainbow stone safe in her subspace pocket waiting to be given to the General. Honestly, a part of her had the small hope that Sylvite had gotten out. Had found the courage and strength to purify and that one day, they would meet again as knights and be able to have a true friendship. It was a fairytale dream, she knew but.

It was a very nice one.

As though the world wanted to add on to her hope, she suddenly felt the signature from a knight, and Sava’s face lit up with excitement. Quickly she crossed the distance between herself and the knight and blinked, feeling a little disappointed that it wasn’t a purified Sylvite but. It was someone.

“Hey there! It’s a nice night, isn’t it? Still cold but, spring is coming, so that’s always good to know!”

What she could see of the knight was a green outfit and long red hair, not a type that she had met before so…that was quite interesting.

“I’m Sava. It’s nice to meet you.”

The past couple days had been incredibly difficult for the Earth Knight. During the times her mental state was more stable, she worked on figuring out her current situation. Tried to get an idea of what she needed to do to at least get the bare necessities taken care of. Of course, there was an obvious way to get herself some things to survive on, but Hy wasn't willing to steal. She hadn't fallen so low yet.

So she survived the best she could visiting shelters as needed.

And when she couldn't handle the pain of what she was facing, she let herself fall into the embrace of addiction. Her small stash wasn't going to last much longer though and that scared her as much as her current living situation.

It was during one of her moments of clarity that Hy-Brasil heard the overtly chipper voice of another. She had felt the other's signature coming, hoped they bypass her, but it seemed lady luck wanted to continue spitting on her. So, the woman steeled herself the best she could for the interaction.

Turning on heel she faced her new companion. The white of the other Knight's uniform stood out. Hy could only imagine how visible the cosmo knight was traversing the city. The woman seemed to be around the same age as Hy which was atleast one thing in her favor. Hy wasn't sure she could deal with a youth's abundant energy right now.

In truth, she should be thankful it was a fellow knight and not a chaos agent to have found her. Perhaps she'd been too quick to judge lady luck.

"I'd much prefer it be summer right about now. At least the nights would be more pleasant." A bit of snappish retort, but Gwen wasn't feeling too hospitable.

"Hy-Brasil."

An awkward pause ensued as Hy debated whether to just walk away or not. In truth though, this was the first person she'd maybe have a true conversation with since she'd woken up. Maybe it would be a good time to catch up.

Leaning against her staff, Hy-Brasil sighed. "Sorry. I've been a bit...on edge." She flicked a small brain back over her shoulder. "I've been a bit out of action the past for a while so I am trying to assess what's been going on in the city and the war."

Sava blinked and it took everything she had in her not to take a step back, or say something equally snappish, but she nodded. “No, I agree with that. Summer nights are pleasant. It’s nice to meet you, Hy-Brasil. I get it, it’s hard to be on edge, and it’s hard to be jumping into things…and a lot has happened. If you want to find someplace to sit and talk I’m more than willing to fill you in. Or if you’d rather come back to my place we’d be able to talk in private.”

She shrugged.

“If that’s too awkward we can stay out here, but it is cold.” She wasn't sure how long a while was…but. At the very least she’d have to tell her about the battle on the hill, the arrival of the Velencians…everything that had happened…

“I’m…I can fill you in on things from the last year or so, I’m afraid before that I was a part of the Negaverse so. I don’t have. Really clear memories of things.”

It wasn't something she ever spoke of so freely. The people she knew were aware of it, obviously. Most of them knew her as Cavansite after all but.

Sava was being incredibly kind with an offer of someplace warm to cozy up in and catch up on the time Hy-Brasil had lost during her time away. The Earth Knight's initial response was to brush Sava off and ignore the offer, but the idea of getting out of the cold, if only for an hour or so was far too tempting of an offer. After all, dilapidated homes weren't the warmest of hideaways this time of year.

Gnawing on a bottom lip in thought Hy relented to the idea. "If you're sure you don't mind me joining you at your place, that would probably be the best. I don't know about you, but I've never been one for the cold." In truth, she wouldn't have budged from her old apartment on the coldest of nights.

At the mention of the negaverse, Hy stilled. Her dislike of the Negaverse was...well, was a kind way to describe it. In fact, you could say she loathed them with all of her being. So, to be standing in front of someone who had turned from Metallia's army was interesting. She'd never actually sat and spoke with anyone who had changed coats.

It made her more interested to talk to Sava, if nothing else.

"A year of catching up is better than what I know now." She sighed. I imagine that the most recent events are what really matter anyway."

Holding out a hand, she offered a tentative smile. "Lead the way."

Sava was going to insist again, reassure the other Knight that no, she wouldn’t mind at all, but finally it seemed as though she was willing to relent and even held out a hand to her, which Sava took almost without thinking. “Of course. It’s not so very far.”

Truthfully, she was pretty sure that Hy wasn’t intending for Sava to continue holding her hand as they walked, but she did, taking full advantage of the physical contact and thrilling to it. It was nice, having that anchor, and she didn't want to let it go so quickly.

When they neared the apartment where Sava made her home, she hesitated and glanced around before letting her powered form fade, leaving Melody in its place. “We’re almost to my place, and it’s never a good idea to go home powered, obviously.” Not that she hadn’t. It was always warmer when the magic was wrapped around you, but.

“I’m Melody when I’m you know…not Sava. But.” She gestured to the apartment building and unlocked the door, tugging her new friend into the warm.

“Make yourself at home. I’ll get us both something warm to drink, and you can think of some questions to ask, so that I won't have to just...free think everything!”

When Sava took her hand, Hy almost ripped it back for the pure sheer surprise and unexpected feelings that rose at the physical touch. Though it hadn’t felt like two years when it came to memories, her body was very well aware of the lack of physical touch it had experience in it’s suspended animation. It was only pure will power and the feeling of warmth that came from Sava’s hand that kept Hy’d clasped within the other Knights.

It was only when Sava powered down that Hy realized she’d have to do the same. A redness creeped along her cheeks and enflamed her ears. Staying powered in condemned buildings had been Hy’s go-to to avoid the worst of the cold, her cape utilized as a make-shift blanket. But, she followed the other’s actions. Staying powered up would be a problem in someone’s actual home. A legit beacon to anyone around.

Upon powering down, Gwen was let standing in her sateen green cami and ripped jeans. Both articles of clothing looked as if they could do with seeing a wash cycle or two. Perhaps, in the cami’s case just being discarded completely. Her brown heeled boots were the only article of clothing on her that appeared appropriate for the weather the experienced. Of course, immediately upon powering down, Gwen wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to stave off some of the biting cold.

There was no response from the woman as Sava….Melody led them to the apartment and let them in. The warmth was immediate and the goose pimples that had risen began to calm as the heat caressed her skin.

Melody was very accommodating and Gwen found it heartwarming as she followed Melody into the heart of the apartment. “I am Gweneth.” She finally offered her name as Melody hurried away to make warm drinks. “But you can call me Gwen.”

Gwen glanced around the apartment. It was clean, and inviting. Homey even. Her heart hurt thinking about her own apartment now inhabited by someone else. It had been such a lovely place, somewhere she felt comfortable and safe. Now, she was happy to find a place that didn’t look like it would cave in on her over night.

Aware of the fact that she wasn’t exactly the cleanest, Gwen opted not to sit on the furniture and instead wandered slowly around the room looking at pieces and photos that marked the apartment as a home. After all, she didn’t need to really think about what needed to be asked. Her own questions were pretty straight forward.

“Do you live with anyone else?” She questioned out of curiosity. The place had a feminine touch to it that felt cohesive enough, but considering the prices of some of the apartments in the city, Gwen wouldn’t have been surprised if Melody had a roommate.

“Nah.” Melody gave a sad little smile and a sigh as her eyes took in the apartment too, having taken in Gwen’s appearance with a small frown, already heading towards the bedroom to get the other woman something better to wear. “I think I did. Before I purified, but I’ve forgotten all of that life. I mean, most of my time was spent powered up, I remember that…but if I struggle to think hard enough there was…someone at my old home, not that I have any idea where it is or was or…whatever but. I live alone now.”

Oversharing wasn’t necessary, but as she held out a folded, fluffy blue towel and a pair of warm pajamas, she gave a much warmer smile. “Come on, the bathroom’s over here, you can get yourself a hot shower and put on something warm and I’ll make hot chocolate for the both of us and see about fixing some food too. You can stay for as long as you want, I do get lonely so it will be nice to have someone to come home to.”

Melody did miss it. Living with Sterling, Priam and Yu…but.

She simply hadn’t had the heart to stay after Yu had left again. And as much as she wanted to, she hadn’t even seen the other two lately…maybe…

Maybe she’d call sometime soon. But. Maybe not.

Gwen listened are Melody disappeared into another room, presumably a bedroom, as she took liberty to continue to look around the apartment. It was small and quaint but had a very homey feel to it. She liked it for its simplicity.

“I’ve lived alone for a while now. It’s definitely not as comforting knowing there’s no one at home waiting for you. I mean, I had my dog and all, he helped, but it’s not the same.” It had been quite a long time since she shared a space. Frankly, considering her life the past few…well…a few years and months ago she would have hated to let someone watch what she had become. At least had had that sort of privacy.

With the return of her good samartitian with towel in hand, Gwen could have kissed the woman, she coudn’t remember the last time she had a decent shower. Frankly, she was amazed Melody could even deal being in the same room as her. Gwen was certain she had to have some sort of ridiculous funk of a smell considering her living conditions. Squatting certainly wasn’t hygienic most of the time.

“Thank you.” She said as she gratefully took the towel and pajamas offered to her.

The promise of food and hot chocolate was what kept Gwen from fully indulging in the warmth of the shower, she could ahvhave stood under that hot spray for eternity if her growling stomach would have let her, instead, once she was fully clean courtesy of Melody’s shampoo and body wash, Gwen forced herself to turn off the water, dry off and rejoin the other woman with hair still wet with the promise of not drying anytime soon on its own, it that Gwen cared, wet hair was always a given for a few hours after a shower and honestly it was soothing to continue the smell the rich fragrance of shampoo on it.

“Thank you again for the pajamas.” She said as she worked at drying her hair a bit with the towel. I feel like a new woman.” Blotting at red locks she stood in entrance. “Do you need help with anything?” She questioned politely.
