Okay. It was the day, and Sava was in the park drawing in a breath and trying to work up the courage to actually just…do it. To go up to her Wonder and face all of her demons…and find something to bring home for Sylvite. The poor General seemed like she was so close to just…well. Not breaking down, that sounded terrible, but…she seemed so close to just…leaving chaos behind, no matter what she wanted to say in protest.
She was wavering, and any little push could be the one that would help her save herself.
So…here was Sava, going to go to her homeworld.
She really was. That was the plan…and she was going to do it.
…But the idea of going alone just sounded kind of awful and…well.
Maybe she should call Ein and invite her or…or something. Maybe.
With a groan she sank onto a bench and covered her face with an arm. “I don’t even know how to get up there!” She knew…the theory but.
…But.

Pendour had been out a few times since her upgrade. She'd walked around the city, even, and not just headed straight up to her Wonder, but those walks must have been on nights when everyone else was busy, because she hadn't found anyone to talk to. When she finally felt the aura of another Knight nearby, of course she went over towards it as fast as she could manage without tripping over her newly lengthened mermaid train. The woman she found was all rainbows and starshine, and as Pendour approached, she spent an awkwardly long moment staring at the way her outfit shimmered in the small amount of light. "Cosmos, right?" she asked, voice soft as soft. As usual, she held her face tilted so that her scars didn't show so much. "That's lovely." She smiled, and that was soft, too. "Oh, also, um, hi, and is something wrong?"

Sava jumped, startled and looked up when the voice spoke. God, she was so deep in her own thoughts she hadn’t even felt the other Knight coming up. “Ah…Sava, but um. Yeah. Cosmos Knight. I’d never presume to be Cosmos. Uh. Nothing’s really wrong...I just promised someone I’d get them something from my Wonder…but I’ve never gone up, and I’m…not really sure how to.”
She looked at the Knight in front of her and had to admit, she had a beautiful outfit. For a long moment, she stared at the symbol, trying to make her sluggish brain register…
“...Nep..tune? I think that’s the symbol for Neptune. I have tried to learn the symbols, but it’s been a hard thing. Saturn is easy though. And Venus and Mars. Jupiter is just a four…ah…but.” Sava gave a small smile. “It’s nice to meet you.”

Just a Knight. Right. Pendour knew that. She was happy that's she'd guessed the planet right, though, or, the Princess in this case since she didn't think the Cosmos quite counted as a planet. "There are a lot of symbols. You're right. Then, when I think I know them all, I find out that there's more. Apparently there are knights from, um, Ganymede? Anyway, I'm Pendour, Knight of Neptune, yes." She held out the symbol hanging from the pearls at her chest. "We've got the trident? I don't think it's too hard to remember. It's like the god, Neptune." Of course she perked up at the mention of space. She always perked up at the mention of space. "Oh, I can help with that! You should be able to hear you Wonder from up there in space, if you focus a little. Then at that point, you say your oath, swearing the loyalty, and you should be up there just like that." She only paused for a second before she added, shameless, "Can I come with you?"

Sava blinked and gave a little smile. “Yeah, that is true. I didn’t think of it that way. But that’s a great bit of knowledge.” She brightened even further as Pendour mentioned she knew how to get to space and wanted to go with her. “...Yeah? You’d want to? I’d love the company, if I’m being honest. I’ve been putting it off and putting it off but. I made a promise to get something from the wonder for someone so…I should stop putting it off, I think.”
With little hesitation, she held out a hand for the other Knight. “You are very welcome to come with me. I can’t promise I’ll stay long but. If it sucks, it’ll be nice to have a friendly face there with me.
She closed her eyes tried to listen for her wonder, tried to figure out what Pendour was talking about.

"Putting it off?" Pendour didn't meet the woman's gaze. Her good eye was locked on the sky, on the stars. Her voice was soft as soft, though. She was trying to be reassuring. "Wonders are a little empty at first, but there's usually not anything awful there." Uncomfortable, maybe. Her own cove had held some dark secrets at first, but she'd come to terms with them, as the glowing marks on her skin showed. "The last Cosmos wonder that I saw was especially beautiful." Pendour smiled as she slipped her hand into Sava's and squeezed gently.

Sava drew in a breath, nodding slightly. “Yeah. I wasn’t always a Knight. I was a Negaverse General for most of my tenure, but came to this side of things just over a year ago. She held onto the other Knight’s hand, enjoying the feeling, and closed her eyes, trying to focus on her Wonder, trying to figure out how…
The words echoed softly in her mind, and Sava paused, murmuring them softly as she heard them. “I pledge my life and loyalty to Cosmos, and to Sava I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine.”
Such an odd thing to think about saying, but it must have been the right thing, for when she opened her eyes again, they were no longer on Earth.
Soft rolling hills stretched as far as Sava’s eyes could see, dotted with small patches of colorful wildflowers, and bisected by a beautiful rainbow ribbon of river.
The water sparkled and almost seemed to tinkle as it flowed, and the Knight drew in a sharp breath, eyes wide and utterly curious. “...Oh. Well…this…this isn’t what I had anticipated…but, I have no idea what I would have anticipated, honestly.”

There was no way that Pendour would have been able to guess that the woman in front of her had spend time in the Negaverse until she said something. That hadn't even been where her mind had gone when she'd said she'd been procrastinating on visiting her wonder. She knew that for some people, space just wasn't such an important thing. "Well, we're glad to have you," she said, because while Sava's past didn't matter at all to her, she felt like she should say something. "And I think your Wonder will be glad to have you, too." She squeezed the other Knight's hand even tighter when she said the magic words, since she thought that Sava maybe needed someone to squeeze her hand right now. "Oh," she whispered as they arrived, and while she didn't move from where they had landed, she looked around in every direction before her good eye eventually settled on the river before them. "I love this," she said, and her smile was widening. She was happiest when she got to explore new places, and this one certainly had Cosmos's beauty to it. "I've never seen a Wonder that's a river before."

Sava gave a little smile in return, feeling a rush of warmth at the easy way that Pendour seemed to just…accept her. It was…rather wonderful, to be honest.
She looked around the wonder and drew in a soft breath. “...It…isn’t anything like I expected, but…I’m not upset about that at all…it feels very…welcoming which…isn’t something I’d normally think that a place could feel but…”
Slowly, she let go of the other Knight’s hand and made her way to the edge of the river, kneeling beside it and reaching into the water. It was so very clear, and she could see the small, smooth stones at the bottom, as well as something glinting in the light.
Reaching in, she pulled out a beautiful stone that shone with all the colors of the rainbow and with a small smile, knew that this was exactly what she was going to give Sylvite. Hopefully she would love it.
Again, Sava reached into the water and pulled out a small golden ring which she slipped onto her own finger. It felt as though it belonged to her. All of this felt as though it belonged to her…it…
It was wonderful.
“...Thank you for letting me know that I could come here. For helping me figure out how.”

If this place wasn't like what Sava had expected because it was welcoming, then that was the best kind of surprise. Pendour's smile was soft as she followed the other woman right up over to the edge of the riverbanks. The way the water trickled and gurgled as it flowed reminded her a little of the sounds of her own cove up on Neptune, and that made her even more relaxed than she would have been otherwise. She glanced back to Sava just in time to see her pulling a ring from the water, and Pendour's soft smile widened at that. "Oh, you found it," she said, her voice still soft. "That's the signet ring of the Knight of Sava. See, that's proof your Wonder thinks you should be here. It's talking to you. It's whispering, welcome. You belong." Then Pendour giggled, softly, because that was a little metaphorical even for her. "I'm glad I got to come see this place," she added, "And anyway, it's my pleasure, helping people connect with their worlds."

Sava looked up and smiled softly, nodding. “I…think I’m actually ready to go back, if that’s okay. I have some things to do back home but…I’ll bring you up here again if you ever want to come? It would be nice to be able to bring a friend when I come back again. It seems like it could be pretty lonely by myself.”
And now she had her gift for Sylvite…she had everything she could want.
“If you would want to exchange numbers and be like…friends I’d love that too, just so you know.” Sava held out her hand, her smile turning into a grin as she watched Pendour.

Pendour was quick to nod. This place was so lovely that she could have easily spent hours here, but if Sava was overwhelmed, or had things to do back home, it wasn't like Pendour was going to push her to stay any longer. "Let's go then," she whispered. "Let's go, and let's be friends. Of course you can have my number. I would love that." More than coming back to this riverside, she would love to see this sweet knight again.
