Hobbies:
- Stickers – Like many children, Miteksi has dabbled in doodling since a young age. He never grew out of enjoying scribbling and instead just honed in on the things he enjoys: specifically birds and plants. Almost exclusively birds and plants. Look at how cute and dumb and small birds are. How bright and colorful and tiny-headed and soft. And how plump and green and vibrant plants are… He sketches up “squishy” avians and foliage with cute little faces and round bodies, finishes digitally anything he really likes, and prints them out as stickers. He hangs out to sketch and birdwatch at the park and will give out stickers to anyone who sits with him. Surprise, surprise, there’s an ad on the back for his Etsy store, where all his stickers are posted.
Hiking – Maybe he got his love of birds and plants from all those camping trips his parents took him on when he was younger. His mother claimed that they should be “woodsy” for their Native American heritage (to which Miteksi profoundly resisted in his formative years, ever-eager to not just be what his mother wanted him to be). He still dislikes her dumb rasoning because just let people enjoy what they want to enjoy without attributing unnecessary backstory to it, but, yeah, he begrudgingly admits to loving the camping and hiking scene. Looks nice to traverse river-run trails and mountain crags, smells nice like pine and campfire smoke, feels good to not be sitting in a brick nest. The only drawback is it’s dangerous to go alone, no matter how familiar with the easiest trails he is.
Theater – Miteksi had the “lead role” in his first grade class play (he was the heart), and he literally never looked back at the plebs playing the kidneys. That young age confidence boost (for no real reason, mind. The teachers were happy to tell him how talented he was, but honestly he was just the most vocal and least timid) made him want to think seriously about pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. It couldn’t be that difficult! He expressed this at length to his parents, but they still insisted was going to attend Romano’s because it was the “better school” due to it being harder to get into. It’s kind of bullshit that Romano’s doesn’t have any clubs he can enjoy (and he is very vocal about that too). But whatever. There’s a local church that hosts a summer theater camp that Miteksi attends every year. It’s what he looks forward to all school-year and what most of his actual friends partake in.
Virtues:
- Fearless – What’s the worst that could happen? is a frighteningly frequent argument from Miteksi, and totally valid in his eyes! He tackles problems and obstacles head-on because the worst that could probably happen is just failure, and there shouldn’t be anything to keep him from trying again and again. He’s not easily embarrassed, so if someone wants to laugh at him, they can, and he’ll shrug it off. It doesn’t quite dip into recklessness; he’s not stupid, but Miteksi doesn’t overburden every action with thoughts about terrible outcomes and consequences.
Optimistic – Because, ultimately, he’s never had an experience where everything didn’t turn out alright. The world rights itself, y’know? Things suck sometimes, but there’s definitely just as many opportunities for them to not suck, and you just have to do your best to accept the bad and rejoice for the good. Miteksi is a firm believer that while actions have consequences, none will ever be so dire that it’s impossible to recover from. There will always be something out there to make things better. Just be attentive and dutiful in seeking it out. Let the bad out, and bring the good in. Everything will balance. It will be okay. Usually starts his day off in a grouchy temper (he hates waking up!), but at least it can only improve from there.
Adventurous – Unsurprisingly, Miteksi relishes in the thought of a vast world and great universe. New things are very exciting and intriguing to him, and his interests in the wilderness make him naturally explorative and curious. He loves doing things: checking out the new restaurants, wandering streets and parks and forests, and meeting new people. Has a huge case of wanderlust and an insatiable urge to just experience everything he can. He’s not usually afraid to try things and always has ideas for things he and his friends can do together. The saddest part is how one person could never hope to experience everything the world has to offer.
Flaws:
- Dramatic – Everything is falling apart all the time. Don’t look at him like that; it is awful, okay? Miteksi has a way of escalating and antagonizing moods, which wouldn’t be the worst if he was always in a positive temper, himself. But more often than not, it seems like when he (or someone he knows) has a bad or inconvenient experience (the line at the DMV was long, a fiver fell out of his pocket and was lost to time, the waitress was busy and didn’t check the table regularly enough), it is the worst thing imaginable, and he has to make sure that everyone knows about it. He’s not ashamed of sharing, loudly, and it can turn to harping fairly easily, making everyone involved just feel worse from his oblivious venting.
Vain – Miteksi cares a lot about his own appearance, and absolutely will not, under any circumstances spend less than forty-five minutes getting ready, and it really should be more! If this is taken from him, the day may as well just be completely wasted and ruined. It would be all fine and good if the only person he was judging was himself, but he is quite trite and snooty with unkempt strangers and has a penchant for deciding how friendly he should be to someone based on how they look. Warning: come at him with unstyled, unbrushed hair and he will be curt at best, blatantly rude at worst.
Hedonist – Miteksi is a good student. He is generally reliable, usually pleasant enough, and moderately proper. But like a switch he turns all that off regularly. He has pretty freeform parents that have always been open to letting him do as he wished, so long as no one got in trouble they couldn’t get out of, so Miteksi is a big proponent of making sure to routinely enjoy himself to the fullest extent. If he’s to be trapped in such a strict and regimented school, then when he’s not in class, he’s going to do all manner of things he couldn’t get away with under his teachers’ watchful gazes. He’s very into weed, alcohol, cute girls, and just allowing himself to do whatever he feels like doing. Not every moment of every day has to be scheduled. He makes new plans on a dime, doesn’t feel obligated to tell anyone, and can go off on his own without warning. His parents are fine with this. His friends are wary.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
- Eyes: a pale sort of gray-green, a bit downturned
Hair: magenta-pink and relatively short, swept bangs with a couple of face-framing strands, cropped to nape of neck
Face: heart-shaped face with short, pointed nose, full lips, round cheeks, and narrow brows
Skin Tone: warm, mid-dark
Body Type: He is just a teenager, so still has a little growing to do, yet, but Miteksi is above “average” for his age, standing at 6’2”.
Clothes: Mitty is a… moody dresser. He loves clothes and fashion and has a closet full of stuff he’s worn a handful of times. Tends to dress drably and semi-formally when ill-tempered: in grays and turtlenecks and slacks. But can also be very flamboyant and colorful and shamelessly loves crop-tops and leather jackets and chain-pants and floral design on the bottoms of his pants. Has “ideas” for pretty much any garment that can be conjured for him, and he’s not afraid of a little skin showing.
