The sun was sinking beyond the horizon and Corryn was dismayed to watch it go. It was always easier to search a grid pattern while daylight was still around. Her gaze swept over the small roped off area that she had assigned to her task for the day before sighing. The teen wasn't keen on being out past nightfall and yet she still hadn't located what it was she was hunting for.
Figuring that her search could wait until another day Corryn began the process of deconstructing her grid search area. Rope was bundled up neatly and the pegs (in reality, just sturdy branches) where thrown back from whence she'd grabbed them. Her phone came out as she glanced at the area that she had been searching. A poster had mentioned losing a treasured object in the area and Corryn had replied that she'd attempt to find it. But for now she sent a message to the recipient saying that no luck had been had tonight and that she'd try again. But she also added an additional message confirming if the coordinates were accurate,
That taken care of Corryn busied herself in packing the rope away into her pack and taking random pieces off her metal detector that wouldn't hold up well in general transport and added them to her pack as well.
She could come back tomorrow, unless plans changed.

Even if she was an Eternal had been through a few winters now as a Dark Mirror, she still considered her outfit to be too cold, even if it did keep her mostly warm-ish. She had brought the jacket which had made the cold more bearable but she would have rather have not been outside in the first place. But she had to admit that it had been some time since she had powered up, and she did not count the being forced into the mirror just to battle the monster as going out and doing her duty. That was unexpected and made her much too annoyed. Tonight though was just supposed to be relaxing and as the sun had started to go down, she had managed to find herself near the forest. She wasn't sure why, but it had drawn her for some reason and she managed to find a civilian! Hiding behind a tree she let loose one of her wraiths hoping to drain just enough to ease her guilty conscious. When the wraith came back in an incredibly short amount of time she was surprised at how full it was. She let her second one out and when the same thing happened she knew that something was going on. Normal civilians didn't do this and she was pretty sure that awakened Senshi or Knights wouldn't do it either... She had a gut feeling and she found herself listening to such feelings more often than not! And so without thinking she moved from behind the tree and walked over to the other, glad that she had boots on. When she was close enough she said loudly, "Hey you!"She never claimed to be a people person.

"Hey you!"There would have been a time when Corryn would have assumed that she was trespassing with a proclamation like that. But now it didn't faze her in the slightest. Already she knew that the land that she was occupying was open to public use and she turned around with a small frown before taking in the appearance of the person who was trying to get her attention. Her eyes flicked to the outfit the female was wearing before giving a small sigh of envy. It wasn't a look that would work in a ren faire but man she did have to give out style points where they were due. Instead of standing there looking like a fool Corryn narrowed her gaze before placing her metal detector on the ground and crossed her arms.
She wasn't as upset as the gesture might appear but it was better to show a little consternation in having being addressed in such a manner and she huffed a little, "not sure where you came from but c'mon, what's with the "Hey you!"?" Kinda sounds like you got a bone to pick with me and I don't even know you,"
She let her arms fall to her side before she continued in a softer tone, "I'm not doing anything wrong by being here you know. Just trying to find something that was lost. Pretty sure you aren't here for the same reasons and I don't really feel like chatting if you are gonna be so ... contentious."
Picking up her metal detector she made to pass the other before pausing for a moment, "was there something you wanted to talk about with me?"

Mithra shrugged. "I'm not very good at greetings." She said, watching as the other continued to gather her equipment. "I'm not a park person either so you don't have to be worried about me kicking you out of here." She said with a slight smirk. Mithra fully turned to the other when she had asked her question. "Yes... and perhaps you'll think I'm a bit crazy. I thought so too when it happened to me. But I believe that you've got potential to do more. A different more. You'll learn a part of the world that you never knew." She had to say this carefully. "Of course there's danger involved once you learn of it. That's what always happens when it comes to magical shenanigans doesn't it? I can't guarantee you'll be totally happy after learning what's been going on around here. But I can say that if you do and want to join in on it, that you'll have more knowledge to help yourself, those who you care about, and even the world around you."It was true. As far as she knew at least. The Dark Mirror were trying to help, in their own way. Even if they seemed to be fighting their own realm they still wanted to make a world that could be used if the Earth could no longer be saved. She gave the woman a shrug. "It's up to you." She had a more serious look on her face now. "And I'll say this, even if you don't take my offer, which you don't have to of course, there are others out there who may force you into their ranks." She was referring to the Negaverse, but for a moment wondered if any White Moon Mauvians had ever forced someone into being a Senshi. She held out her hand to the other girl. "Your call."

This wasn't something that she had been expecting and the puzzled look that crossed her face spoke of the confusion that Mithra's words brought. Oh the part about not being a park person was understood easily enough but it was the whole other speech that had Corryn's mind spinning. Her eyes blinked a few times after the final word had passed the other's lips before she shook off the mental paralysis.
"I'm sorry, but can you run that by me again. Without being entirely cryptic?"
There was a gist ruminating in her mind about what had been said but it was only a rough outline but Corryn thought she understood but it would be better to have clarity over confusion.
"Sorry, it's been a long day and what you mentioned made only the barest amount of sense. Would you be willing to just give straight facts? If you want to walk and talk at the same time that is okay too. I'm done here for the evening," Corryn left the last word hanging in the air as an open invitation that she was willing to accompany this 'stranger' in order to get a better understanding of what she was talking about. Hopefully whatever sales pitch this was; and it indeed sounded like one; would be straightened out enough for Corryn to make an informed decision on whatever was being proposed.

Mithra grinned. "Good. Sounds like you won't get overwhelmed. Usually have to do the cryptic stuff to get people interested, you know?" She said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Basically there is a magical world going on between Order and Chaos. I'm on the Chaos side, a Dark Mirror Senshi to be specific, but that doesn't mean we're evil. It's just that we get our powers from it. We're also trying to save the world our own way like some other Senshi appear to be unawakened." She wouldn't state why she knew that. She was at least halfway sure it would convince the woman not to give them a chance. "I can take you to a place where your powers can be activated. If you're willing to try it. After that and if you are a Senshi, then I can tell you more, all right?" She said, while pointing in the direction they needed to go in order to find a mirror. It was a good thing that Mithra knew where most of the gyms were in this city and that she had access to most of them.

So there was a magical war that was going on and this person was a part of it. Huh, who knew. Corryn shifted her supplies before taking in the explanation that was given to her before pausing in thought. So it sounded like if she were indeed one that had a potential to be just another soldier why hadn't others found her first. She wondered how this senshi had been able to find her. There was a lot of questions that she wanted to ask but instead she kept her mouth closed and instead began to trail the other woman in quiet acquiescence.
There was no indication around to point out to Corryn where she was being taken to but she knew that the direction they were headed in was one that she tended to avoid. Gyms were not her forte. But if they needed to go this way then she was just gonna go with it.
"Is there anything you can tell me about this place that you are leading me to," her voice was full of curiosity as they continued to walk.SSBrosB sorry for delay, very short also.

They were almost to the gym now and luckily there hadn't been anyone who had seen them on the way here. At least she knew a back-way into the gym to avoid the cameras. "It's a gym. People work out, exercise, or they sign up for a membership and never come back." She said with a chuckle. "If you're talking about after that, I'm going to be pulling you through a mirror. It's going to feel weird, trust me. And once you're in we will be in a giant room that is white and empty except for a black mirror in the middle of it. You'll go into that second mirror and... you'll come out of it." She didn't say how. She wasn't sure if it was different for everyone. "You'll come out a Dark Mirror Senshi." She said as they weaved into the back of an alley behind the building and Mithra opened the back door. "But first we're going into the laddies locker room."

Corryn took in the explanation of where they were heading. So the gym was just step one in the process. Her gaze widened a little when her guide told her that she would be pulled into a mirror to see what would become of her future. Corryn shrugged nonchalantly as the back door was opened without a fuss and she took in the interior of the gym before waiting to see which direction they needed to travel in next.
"Hey, as long as we don't go messing around with invisibility I'm a-ok with anything that you need me to do," she paused before shaking her head, "sorry, bad reference. I wouldn't expect you to catch it. So would there be room in any of these lockers to stash my stuff before we go through the mirror?"
Corryn paused momentarily before casting a wary eye around her. She had no idea what her guide's name was and she thought it'd be better to rectify that, "oh, by the way ... what do I call you?"
Following after Mithra Corryn took in the deserted gym before sighing. Hopefully this decision to follow wasn't going to kick her in the butt. Even if she hadn't agreed to do this would the end result have been the same? Perhaps the time for questions would have to wait. For now she was going to go along with this as she was intrigued. She fussed with her belongings before speaking up, "totally just realized that we've both neglected introductions. The name's Corryn."

Mithra chuckled at the other's joke. "Even if it is a reference, I do wish we had some sort of invisibility. I'm sure someone does, but we're best in the dark. Though I think I stand out quite a bit." She said, giving a look at her own uniform and the bright teal that shined on it. "And your stuff will be fine, ever heard of subspace? But if you're really worried about it..." She said as she moved over to a locker with a lock and swiftly opening it. "This is mine that I rent. You can use it for now. I'll give it back to you after this." One thing Mithra could say was she wasn't a thief. "You can call me Mithra for now. If you get chosen I'll give you my real name." She wasn't about to go and tell it to everyone after all. She needed some anonymity. She waited for the other to finish before moving to one of the large mirrors. "We'll be stepping through this one." She said as she moved one of her hands towards the mirror before slowly dipping into it, her hand disappearing before she took it back out. "See, nothing happened." She said just in case the other was wary about an arm getting eaten or something. She held her hand out to the other. "It won't hurt, but it might feel a bit weird."

Stowing her gear in the locker that Mithra had allowed her to use took only a few minutes. The door was closed to the small enclosure and she felt a small ripple of relief wash over her. At least her possessions would be safe for however long this small adventure took. Learning the name of her guide Corryn watched as Mithra approached one of the large mirrors in the room and nonchalantly pushed her arm through the reflective surface. When the arm was withdrawn Corryn gave it an unobtrusive glance before noting that nothing seemed amiss. Her mind sharpened: now this was a neat trick. There was no real explanation as to what she was seeing so instead of trying to rationalize the occurrence Corryn merely shrugged off the question that she wanted to ask before stepping forward.
Almost with a child's reticence did Corryn accept the held out hand that Mithra offered to her before she found herself being pulled into the mirror proper, "Guess this qualifies for most reckless thing I've done, but oh well. I guess we'll find out if your assumptions about me are correct soon enough."
Corryn wasn't one hundred percent sold on the idea of becoming embroiled in a magical war, but if the side she was representing was more interested in saving things, well, she could get behind that.
The atmosphere around her changed to something entirely foreign and she gave a soft exclamation before whispering under her breath, "so not what I was expecting."
"Hey Mithra, does it always look like this?"

Mithra gave her new aquaintance a shrug. "This room does, or at least I haven't see it look any different." She said as she looked at the white walls around them and then the giant dark mirror in the room. "If you come out of there then you'll be able to travel around here, the Mirrorspace. It's not too much to look at right now. We're still learning about it ourselves, but it does make for a convenient way to move about the city if you know where the mirrors are!"She looked back at Corryn. "All you have to do is step into that big black mirror and then you should come out a Dark Mirror Senshi. I don't know what your powers might be themed after. I got Mantis Shrimp, but I'm pretty happy with that." She said with a smug grin. "If you don't want to do it just say the word and I'll take you out of here." And drain her into unconciousness so that she doesn't remember this. Mithra thought to herself. She didn't want to have to do such a thing, but they did have to protect themselves after all and they couldn't let random civilians wander around knowing.

The mirror that Mithra was indicating that she would have to step into, if she chose to do so, was one that happened to be the blackest mirror that Corryn had ever seen. There were of course warning claxons going off in her head that maybe she had taken a bite of something that was all to willing to bite back. But something had clued Mithra in that maybe something about her was special and wouldn't it just be the correct thing to go along with the whole scenario and at least see it through.
Heck if Mithra was wrong then it would simply be a case of "no harm, no foul" but something was prodding at the back of her mind and Corryn had a feeling that her escort into Mirrorspace knew what she was talking about. And in that case she owed Mithra the decency to at least see if anything happened. Steeling herself for possible disappointment Corryn walked past her guest and towards the mirror. Her feet stopped inches before the large reflective surface before staring at the image displayed back at her. Inhaling sharply the teen pushed her arm into the mirror before following after it mere seconds later.
What could have seemed like an eternity later (at least from Corryn's viewpoint) did she stumble out of the mirror and completely in an outfit that was different from what she had been in before her entrance. Her first instinct was to stare at herself now with a new appearance before turning to Mithra and giving the other a puzzled look, "so judging by the fact that I look almost completely different ... does this mean I passed whatever initiation that was?"

It took a few minutes, and for a moment Mithra wondered if she would be able to get any wifi in here if she had her phone with her, when Corryn came out of the mirror looking different. An interesting different. Mithra certainly couldn't discern what her sphere may have been. "Seems you did. I'm assuming you were told what sphere or powers you had in there? I was told about mind but let me know if you don't know yours. We might have to experiment." She walked over to the other, taking a closer look at her outfit. What did it mean? She didn't know, but it wasn't a bad uniform! "Now you should be getting a Henshin pen soon here. Also I'm assuming you were given a name? As I said, I'm not really called Mithra, but it seems that I'm a reincarnation of a Senshi from Mithra. Real name is Stacey. So I'm assuming you got your name as well."

The sense of being stronger was the first to register in Corryn's mind. Her gaze took in her wardrobe change before tuning back into what Mithra, or was it Stacey, had been saying. Something about hearing a name while in the mirror. Reaching up to set the hat that she had acquired more firmly onto her head she paused to recall her time in the mirror. Had there been a name that had been whispered into her ear? Her expression brightened before she nodded. There had been a name that had registered with her just before she exited the Black Mirror.
"Yep, I think what I heard on the way out was my name. Pretty sure Parysatis isn't some everyday word that people could hear, even if they aren't exiting out of a magic mirror."
Corryn, now Parysatis, took in her reflection once more. The new dark mirror senshi glanced around before moving away from her reflection to stand near Mithra. "You mentioned Mantis Shrimp as being what your power was themed after. I think if I heard correctly, mine could be mosquitoes."
As soon as she finished that line her gaze turned questioning. Had she recalled that last piece of information correctly? It was a mystery to be sure but even as she thought about it, something clicked in her mind that it was truly who she was.
"So I guess that would make me Parysatis, the senshi of mosquitoes," phrased as it was it sounded more like a question than a statement but even as she uttered the words did an object materialize in front of her. Parysatis grabbed at the strange item before letting it lay flat in her palm, "This is my henshin pen that you spoke of Mithra?"
