Crafting a well-catered supplier list had been difficult, but thankfully finding clients hadn’t been as difficult. Solari had a nice list of associates as well and her black-market empire was growing every day, a little faster than she would have liked because really, she didn’t like working much. However, she had some individuals helping with the business now at least that she didn’t have to focus entirely on building and more so on what she liked doing which was stealing. Meetings, however, Solari keep made sure she kept up on a personal level, she wanted to know exactly who her buyers were.

This next client had selected the spot they were meeting in. It was a high-end café of some kind and Solari had been thoroughly impressed upon entering. She’d been the only foreigner within, and the others had looked at her wondering what she was up to. Granted she now wore full Belrean fashion and tended to blend it a lot easier than when she had first arrived. She ordered a tea and one of those overly sweet pastry things before setting at the back of the café away from prying eyes and ears. She would have loved to look out the window but that was far too risky.

The waitress came around with her items and Solari settled with her back to the wall and eyes on the front as she sipped tea from the tiny cup. She was meeting with an Astrasol, a high lady of some kind. She’d looked her up before the meeting and had been surprised to discover she was a hybrid and not pure Belrean. Not that it mattered much to Solari, business was business after all. The wealthier clients were especially well-liked. She wondered what kind of item this Astrasol needed to acquire that she couldn’t simply buy.

[ Astrasol 1 ]

Astrasol was bored. Each day that passed by felt the same. She would go out and purchase items with her endless supply of money, wander around with her brother and mock those who crossed them, and return home to shoot the same arrows at the same marks. While she lived a luxury, her days felt dull and boring, and when a rich girl was bored, it often led to trouble.

Lately, she had been hearing rumors of the shadier side of town. Even with Belrea being a progressive capital of order and invention, darkness loved to fill the little cracks that made up each settlement. It was in this darkness that the young hybrid found a little fascination, and began to dip her toes to see if she could get some thrill.

To be able to purchase items that would help her along in her quest to be the top of the chain was something that Astrasol hadn't quite wrapped her mind around yet. Her parents would disapprove, of course. Especially her mother, but the rebellion was something that caused her heart to race, and so Astrasol snuck out with a cloak to cover her hair and a mask to cover her eyes.

Eventually she'd need to find temporary dye, but for now this would work.

One of her new 'friends' had introduced her to a supplier, something that could get her into the market of collecting unique items and selling them later for a profit. So, Astrasol had found a way to contact the supplier and recommended a location well out of the way of her usual haunt, but still high end enough that they wouldn't get too much attention. As long as they acted like they belonged. Hopefully her supplier wasn't an incompetent buffoon.

As she entered the cafe, she was pleased to see no familiar faces tittering about. So she casually pulled off her cloak and handed it to the attendant, before approaching the counter to order her own steaming drink.

Solari had just taken a bite of her much too sweet pastry thing when a newcomer came into the café. Cloaked at first which was a little weird, and when this clocked figure uncovered Solari knew she was staring at her client. She didn’t have her down at first, just observed her while she took a sip of her tea. It was always best to observe first before she made any kind of move. Hybrids were always interesting to her, but Solari had to admit this one was pretty. She really loved the contrast of her hair against the darker skin.

After she had ordered, however, Solari waited until she looked her way and then raised her hand so she’d spot her in her corner. She took another bite of the pastry and downed it with some more tea. She really didn’t understand how people could eat these things; they were way too sweet for her taste. She also knew some Belreans who added sugar to their drinks which Solari found completely ludicrous to do. Grabbing the napkin, Solari whipped her fingers across it and took out her pocketbook and a quill and ink. She liked to take notes to reference at a later point.

As she completed her order, the tea was slid across the counter in a sturdy clay cup. Steam bellowed up from the drink and Astrasol was pleased to see that it had the perfect coloring. Picking it up and blowing gently upon the drink, she glanced around the room through the steam of her drink before her eyes caught sight of a flicker of movement. The description added up, a water-ling from across the sea with an ombre fade and foreign outfit. She stood out, which was not ideal but fine enough.

Waving off the attendant who offered her a table, the sharp sighted hybrid moved casually across the space and set her drink down at the table across from Solari. Without so much as a greeting, she gracefully settled down and raised a single, snowy brow at the note taking setup.

Solari gave the Hybrid a slow smile.

“So,” she began taking a sip of the warm tea. “I hear you’re looking for some particular items.” As she spoke, she alternated between looking at Astrasol and then sweeping her gaze across the café. No one was close enough to overhear them of course, but if someone seemed to be paying a little too much attention to them, she’d have to handle it. Her clients treasured their anonymity as much as she like her privacy.

“Can I ask you how you came about our…” Solari’s eyes narrowed a bit at the word. “Organization?” Some tips came from whispers on the wind but she liked to keep track of who was referring who and who her associates were speaking to.

[ Astrasol 3 ]

The hybrid moved her long white hair off of her shoulder, pushing it back behind her back as she leaned forward slightly and took another sip of her drink. To anyone looking in, it appeared that two girls were just casually meeting over treats, though Solari did stand out a bit with her unique coloring and clothing. But fashion was starting to shift to more Tendaji styles, so it wasn't so abnormal that Astrasol found any concern.

Instead, she blew gently on her glass and looked down, before her eyes glanced back up at the woman before her.

"Hmm...well, you know how ladies who are bored tend to find themselves trouble." She said with a deep, low voice, flashing a coy smile, "Let's just say that whispers tend to spread."

She didn't want to state that she had wandered into the darker parts of Belrea, not out front, but being the rebellious daughter of a military woman meant that Astrasol found herself pushing boundaries a bit these days.

[Solari 3]

While Solari was unknowingly off the mark, she took the woman's words to mean she'd gotten involved with some kind of shady man or in some cases lover. That's how a few of her clients came to be, so no surprise there really. Solari didn't pass judgment, everyone had to start somewhere right? And what better way than through your husband. It was less messy that way.

"Alright then, how can we be of service miss...?" The waterling wasn't expecting her real name of course, just as Solari would not give up her own. Aliases were always the safest bet and she still needed to have some kind of name for her if they were going to have multiple dealings together.

[ Astrasol 4 ]

Astrasol continued to sip at her tea with delicacy, her mind wandering a bit at the plans she had but also the lack of long term understanding. That's why she needed someone with a more professional awareness to help her with such actions. Being a little naughty was oh so much fun.

"It's Astra." She replied easily with a smile, "I'm looking to invest in some trading. I hear your organization can help with procurement and sales. I'm looking to become a bit more self-sufficient these days if I can help it."

[Solari 4]

Solari wrote down a few notes before reclined in her chair, studying Astra with a glint of curiosity in her eyes. Astra's request for assistance in the world of trading mirrored the kind of client Solari could appreciate – someone with ambitions and a taste for the finer things, all neatly wrapped in a shroud of mystery.

"Nice to meet you, Astra," Solari said, her tone smooth and measured. "I'm Sashi. You're right; we specialize in procurement and sales. Self-sufficiency is a noble pursuit. Tell me, what kind of investments are you interested in? Exotic goods, rare artifacts, or perhaps something more... unconventional?"

Was she perhaps some kind of noblemen’s child looking for her own fortune? Perhaps she sought her independence from a husband who’s hold on their finances was too tight? Whatever it was, she was intrigued even though it was none of her business why her clients needed her services. Solari's gaze lingered on Astra's eyes, her curiosity extending beyond the professional realm before she looked away.

[ Astrasol 5 ]

Astrasol's brow raised at the temptation of unconventional, and she leaned back to consider the options. Exotic goods and rare artifacts were something easy to manage, especially with all the adventurers that were making way with Kahikinan's development But unconventional, how interesting. She smiled coyly at the woman before her.

"I must say, I'm curious about what the world has to offer beyond the typical I've seen."

[Solari 5]

Solari's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Curiosity is a virtue," Solari replied, a wry smile playing on her lips. "Especially when it comes to the unconventional. The possibilities are vast. Have you ever considered enchanted relics? Or maybe objects so old they’re greedily guarded by the wealthiest members of society."

She leaned in, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Or perhaps you’re some rare creature collector." Solari had received some unsavory types of requests before, which she usually turned down though these were doable.

"And then, there's potions, elixirs, and concoctions. Some have requested what they believed to be items fallen from the sky, gifts from the Gods themselves. What tickles your fancy in the world of the unconventional?"

[ Astrasol 6 ]

A virtue indeed. Astrasol wasn't one to indudge in the foreign types, but there was something about Sashi here that just really drew her in. Maybe it was the danger, or the sense of freedom, or simply the fact that Matori earthlings had unique markings unseen anywhere else. Either way, she had to hide her eager smile behind her tea and focus on listening.

Raising a brow at the comment of the creatures, she shook her head.

"No...creatures seems a bit high maintenance and I'm high maintenance enough." She brushed her soft hair away from her shoulder.

"I've got to say, I do like the idea of procuring something that is so valued by others. And it would be a nice way to manage my wealth...."

She paused. Maybe she could become a sponsor of an auction house, it'd be a good way to move goods and make money without the risk of keeping them safe. That sounded just the right way to enjoy a treasure without stressing over the hoarde.

[Solari 6]

Solari leaned back in her chair, her eyes watching Astrasol carefully. She took a sip of her tea, savouring the moment as she absorbed the subtle nuances of their conversation. She liked clients like this, the ones who knew how to be subtle. She liked the pretty one’s too and she had no doubt that Astrasol was indeed high maintenance from her well-groomed lovely looks.

"Managing your wealth through the acquisition of highly valued items is indeed a great way to manage excess wealth," Solari replied, her wry smile returning. "Did you have anything in particular you wanted, or would you like me to come up with a list of high-value items for you to review?" Some clients already knew what they wanted to get their hands on, others sometimes picked from a list Solari curated.

Solari's mind raced with possibilities, contemplating the future business they could undertake together. Enchanted relics, valuable artifacts, and the secrets they held… If of course, she had the means. Before Solari got too far ahead of herself, she was going to have to research and make sure she did a thorough background check on Astrasol. It was her standard procedure before she accepted any new clients. She couldn’t have any guards or whoever kept the law around here sniffing in her business.

[ Astrasol 7 ]

Solari was right to the point, which Astrasol appreciated. Living along preening and chittering birds that were her friends made the day lag on, so a businesswoman who spoke the language she desired was quite satisfying and a great use of her time. Oh yes, this had been the right decision, each action and interaction further reinforcing the decision she made. This was dangerous, this was exciting, and this had the potential to pay off tenfold. Plus who would suspect the daughter of a well-known military woman to indulge in such behaviors.

Astrasol's smile grew a bit further.

"A list of items would be ideal. The investment is no concern on my end, so don't hesitate to recommend any one item."

[Solari 7]

"Perfect," Solari replied, a hint of satisfaction evident in her tone. "I'll compile a list of items that I believe would be suitable for your needs." No bargaining for a deal? No limit? Solari was really pleased with Astrasol as a new client. They were going to do some interesting things. She took a few more sips of her tea to hide a growing smile.

"Before we go our separate ways, can I ask you a few personal questions? If you don’t mind of course" Solari continued, her gaze lingering on Astrasol's face. "I'm always interested in learning more about the individuals I do business with. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Any hobbies or interests that you're particularly passionate about?"

Solari's question was casual, but beneath the surface, she wanted to learn about her and maybe, just maybe add a little flirtatious note in there too.
