Sylvite was doing better.

She wasn't doing great, exactly. She might not even be doing good, but the weird feeling had gone away a little bit after she'd spend some time with her subordinates. She'd talked about the reason that they were fighting so hard with Fulgurite, and then afterwards they'd gotten ice cream, which had chilled her out way more than the nights and nights of running around the city until she felt like she was going to pass out.

She'd been able to work a some on her paperwork, even, which had been good because she'd gotten pretty behind with how scattered her focus had been.

Although it had still only been so much of that before she'd needed a walk, and now she was out here, heading towards a knight aura that she'd felt.

"Sava?" she asked as she turned around the corner.

She blinked. The thought that she was supposed to get the knives out was there, but she didn't do anything about it. She just took half a step back.

"You're not gonna try to take me to your space lair or something, are you?" she asked. She'd run. She didn't wanna end up in a place controlled by a Knight ever, ever again.

Sava blinked and broke into a smile that lit up her face. It was strange how seeing this General made her happy. Like she was seeing a younger version of herself…

“Sylvite. I hope you’re well. And if you want to go to my space lair, the offer is always open, but no. I’m not going to take you by force, that would be very rude, and I don’t play those kinds of games.” She shrugged, her smile turning wistful. “One of these days I do have to get up there though. Maybe I’ll plan for tomorrow or something. Rip off the bandaid and just…go.

But it would be so much better with a friend with her, that was for sure. “How are you feeling, Silberry?” Honestly, Sava wanted to simply call her strawberry shortcake, but she didn’t want to insult the General by calling her short…oh well.

The smile caught her off guard. The nickname really caught her off guard.

It wasn't bad, exactly. It was actually cute, like, really, really cute. She wanted to be Silberry. It made her feel the same way that hugging Sava had made her feel the other day, so, like, all warm and nice.

The only thing was, she really, really wasn't supposed to feel that way about a Knight.

"I mean, you don't have to go up there," she said instead, making sure to keep her distance. "It's probably all dead and stuff."

She bounced a little on her heels to keep moving. "I'm still not a traitor if that's what you're asking," she said. "I'm-" she paused, her mind flicking back to the events of the past week or so, and she said, flatly, "Okay."

“I know I don’t have to. But I do want to. People think it’s odd that someone who’s made it to my level of…knightness did so without going to my Wonder.” Or, at least one person did. But…honestly, Sava wasn’t sure that their opinions mattered in the slightest so…

“Also, Silberry, I have never once called you a traitor. I don’t think you are a traitor. And I will never do anything in my power to make you become a traitor. Like I’ve said before…I get it. Things can get overwhelming, especially when you’re a General. Sometimes you need a break. Are you able to like…take your favorite subordinate and go for a little vacation? Leave the city for a week or so and just decompress and relax. I mean…I know it’s winter so your relaxing won’t be on a nice beach somewhere but…there are…uh.”

Sava wrinkled her nose. “Maybe there are indoor…water parks or something? Or head to some other set of mountains and get a nice cabin and just…chill? Take time for yourself, but just make sure you’re not alone. When you get twitchy, being on your own is the literal worst.”

Okay, so she wasn't just here to talk about the treason thing. Sylvite nodded. She nodded cautiously, but she didn't pull out her knives or just straight up vanish this time.

"Ski lodges are kinda the winter vacation place, right? Or, like you said, cute little mountain houses where you can have hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows and watch the snow."

She actually smiled a little bit at the thought, even if it was short lived.

"Can't right now, though. Gotta go to class, gotta graduate. Then maybe I'll have the money to go on fancy trips like that." At least, in like thirty years when she'd paid off all her debts, there might be a chance of it. Her parents still hadn't really gotten to that point.

She hadn't left the city much.

"My subordinates are sweet, though. They bring me snacks, it's adorable," she said.

Then she was quiet for a second. She considered, chewing on the inside of her cheeks. Then, she bit.

"What's up in space anyway that people think it's so important that you see? It's just dead stuff, right?"

“Well, if you ever get a chance to, even if it’s just a quick weekend trip…hell, even if it’s just…leaving the city itself and getting a cheap hotel in the next town. Distance can really help, sometimes.”

Sava hesitated, half wanting to offer a weekend trip to her wonder just for the distance, but she had the suspicion that such an offer would again be heartily rejected and would lose whatever ground she had gained with the General.

“Well…as for what’s up in space…I mean. Come on, Silberry. It’s space. Aren’t you even a little curious? It’s like…somewhere completely new! Plus, it’s…somewhere that’s just mine. Nobody can get me up there. No bill collectors or ex girlfriends. No..nothing. Again, I don’t know what’s up there…but it’s a blank canvas that I can make my own. My own secret…clubhouse or whatever! How could you not want to see it if you have the chance!”

Wrinkling her nose, Sava laughed. “...I ask myself that every day but have I gone yet? Nope.”

"I mean, maybe," said Sylvite, but she didn't sound very convinced. There were better things to stress buy than a room at a cheap hotel.

Getting away to space, though?

Okay, Sylvite could admit that in an ideal world, that sounded awesome. Like, maybe in the past, before the Senshi and Knights had wiped out all the planets, going to a different world might have been the ultimate kind of vacation.

She wasn't sure if she could think of a dead, destroyed place as a getaway like that, or even as a secret clubhouse, but Sava was right that neither of them knew exactly what it was that was up there right now.

It did make Sylvite curious. Not, like, curious enough to actually ask to go and get herself trapped or something, but curious.

"You should tell me what it's like up there when you get back," she said.

Sava hummed softly, nodding and looking thoughtful. “Maybe I will. Maybe I’ll…go up tomorrow. I really need to. I really want to see it…” She sighed and chewed her lower lip for a moment before shrugging. “When can I see you again? Obviously not tomorrow, but…maybe the day after? I’ll give you a full account of what my Wonder is like! I’ll be a virtual tour guide, and…”

Her face brightened. “If I find anything pretty, I’ll bring it to you. Like maybe…I don’t know. Space rocks! How cool would that be?”

There was excitement beginning to bubble inside of Sava and for a moment, she wanted nothing more than to just beg the General to come up with her…but.
“I hope there’s space rocks.”

Was she supposed to accept gifts from space? She probably wasn't supposed to accept gifts from space.

On the other hand, she told herself, it would be a good way to get information. She could even put it in the database or something, a record of what the stupid dead worlds and wonders were like.

"Yeah," said Sylvite. "I like pretty things. I like rocks."

She had a couple of sylvite crystals shoved in the back of her desk with all of her other cute little trinkets.

After a long couple of seconds of thinking, she nodded. "Okay. The day after tomorrow. This time, yeah? I'll be here."

Sava grinned and nodded. “Perfect. You have yourself a deal.”

And she had herself a full blown excuse of why she should go up to her homeworld…it was a fair trade, she was sure.

“I’ll see you then, General. I’ll find something pretty for you if I can. If not…well. Then I’ll…figure it out.” With a small nod and a wave, Sava walked off into the night, Tomorrow she would go up.

Tomorrow she would truly begin to learn about herself.
