Juggling energy? Really? That was bold.

Cybele didn't often go out of her way to track down lieutenants or basic corrupts. They were the ones who were most likely to have been misguided or coerced into things. They were the ones who weren't so twisted by Chaos.

It would be better if someone who wasn't so bitter could offer them a second chance. Cybele tried it sometimes, but she wasn't sure how good she was at it. Someone like Albireo would be better here, she was sure.

She'd stumbled across this corrupt anyway, and the smirk on his face put her in an immediate sour mood more so than the energy he was carrying.

She crossed her arms as she approached, tapping a silver-shoed toe on the sidewalk. "Having fun?" she asked, tone dry.

Cybele glanced at the corrupt. She glanced at the alleyway. She thought of conversations she'd had while corrupted, herself, about how some agents chose to drain certain unsavory types due to remnants of their own morality.

She might have felt he was one of those types if he hadn't sounded so cocky about it.

"I don't care about the draining," she said, which wasn't quite true, but it was by far the least of her problems with the Negaverse. "I care about the good cause."

She took one step forwards, then another, her eyes narrow. She wasn't quite trying to be threatening, not yet, but it may have come across that way anyway.

"How much do you know about Chaos, anyway?" she asked.

"I'm not looking for a pitch," Cybele said, lips twitching. As if she'd ever want to hear about Chaos. "I was trying to make sure you're not just one of the misguided types."

She wasn't exactly sure what to make of his story. At least, she wasn't sure what to make of the family drama side of it. From the sound of it, though, and from the sound of his flippant tone, it seemed that he'd made a choice.

"But," she shook her head, slowly, "Since it sounds like you see no problem with hurting people, with killing them, in the name of power and fashion?"

She exhaled sharply, once. Her eyes flashed.

Then she closed the distance between them and she punched.

Jadarite was not bad at teleporting, she reminded herself.

She'd heard warnings that it made people nauseous at first, and she hadn't thrown up once. She just didn't have the experience to be graceful about it.

"On my way," she said, tapping red fingernails on her communicator pen, but long moments passed while she attempted to muster up the focus needed to bend the laws of physics to get her somewhere in an instant.

Cybele, meanwhile, did not back off. She shook her head, unimpressed, then she stepped forwards to throw another punch while his hands were occupied with making his calls.

She'd grown used to tangling with angry generals as a Super. She was always a bit cautious, but Captains did not scare her, especially Captains that did not show up immediately.

Eventually a noise on the club's rooftop signaled Jada's arrival, but even then, her head swayed as she looked down and surveyed the scene.

Jadarite wheezed. The world did not look the way it usually did. Instead, it spun. From her vantage point, she tried to get a better look at what was going on below, but for a moment there, while she blinked away the stars, it was impossible to tell her green and purple charge from the green and purple girl who was after him.

Her vision mostly cleared after a few seconds, and Alkmene jumped onto the roof, so at least she knew where he was.

The Order senshi had stopped short a few feet from the building. Now, she stared daggers up at them.

Cybele might have come across as fearless in a lot of situations. She might have stared down death many times. Even so, just the thought of being that far off the ground made her head spin. She pressed her lips together and took a step back.

Jadarite considered Alkmene's question. Since she'd shown up with a senshi's starseed and gained her promotion, she'd quickly gotten a reputation for being a decent fighter, and she was not feeling the need to ruin that even if it wasn't exactly true.

"I recommend discouragement," she said, hurling her axe down in Cybele's direction.

It worked, too. Cybele had been quickly loosing interest in chasing this mysterious corrupt, and when the axe clattered into the concrete a few inches away from her, she exhaled and started backing away, eventually ducking into the alleyway they'd just come out of and vanishing from sight.

There was something sharp in Jadarite's smile as she looked down towards the lower level where her axe was glinting in the lights on the outside of the club. "Yes, I am liking this upgrade," she said, and stood up taller. It was only now that the last of the vertigo was fading.

"Your magic will improve in time," she told him, because it was probably in the job description to be reassuring. It wouldn't be as good as the axe. She wasn't sure that senshi magic could ever really stand up to a literal weapon, but she would see what she could do to help Alkmene make the most of it.

She was also going to have to improve her own magic so she could better whisk people away from situations like this. She could see it now. If she tried teleporting back to Negaspace, holding onto someone else on top of it, she'd end up collapsed in a heap in Faustite's office, possibly throwing up on Alkmene's shoes.

That just wouldn't be a good look for anyone.

"We can go, but not like that," she said. "I have to rest first. Come on."

With a sharp nod towards the other side of the building, away from Cybele, Jadarite started off in that direction and stepped down to the street below to start getting some distance.
