Sylvite was still having a bunch of issues with office stuff. The stress was making her normal focus issues that much worse, and getting through a simple report right now was basically impossible. She was trying to do some of it, though. At the very least, she had to do her check-ins for her subordinates. She had to be there for them, no matter what else was going on. She had to. She'd promised all of them that she'd be around. She'd promised Axinite. She'd promised herself. At least, she had to be there for them as much as she was able to, which right now meant sitting in her office while she waited for meeting time with all the paperwork untouched. She'd broken two fidget cubes earlier from getting to aggressive with them and also probably because of her General strength, and even though she'd picked up a couple of little fidgety items to replace them, she was kinda nervous about breaking them too, which brought her back to a different idea. Phone games. While she waited, her office and the outside hall was filled with happy music and the occasional sound of popping bubbles.

Their last mission had arguably been one of the Negaverse's biggest successes yet, and yet, once the excitement faded, Fulgurite didn't necessarily feel particularly hyped about it. His team had done a good job. Sylvite and her partner that day, Rakovanite, had led their team into keeping their generator up some of the longest of any other group. They had done their job. They had done their job well. They had succeeded in the mission the Negaverse sent them, and on top of them, came out relatively unscathed with praise abounds from the Queen who had been a General-Queen when she forced him into this ******** mess-- And perhaps that was it. Something about all of it still rubbed him the wrong ******** way. It left him on edge, as much as he tried to bury it by just punching some of the people he ran into on patrol. Perhaps it wasn't the wisest move. Probably feeding right into the cycle. Sylvite calling him in for a visit was a nice break in the tension, and he teleported into the comfort of Negaspace before heading down to the office at the scheduled time without any second thoughts about the matter. He tapped on the door. "Sylvite?" Heard the popping bubbles through the door - was she playing a video game?

The door was cracked. It swung open when Fulgurite knocked on it. Sylvite kept tapping at her phone for a couple seconds, until she lost the level, huffed, and then looked up with a smile and a wave. Yeah, maybe it wasn't her usual over the top bubbly enthusiasm, but she was still happy to see Fulgurite. She liked seeing all of her subordinates. Other than the occasional, y'know, treason, she hadn't had any big trouble with them. Some of them had things she was keeping an eye on, though. Adonis always seemed like he was on the verge of getting into trouble, and she never quite knew if she was getting the truth out of him. Gismodine was still jumping at every shadow. Fulgurite was easy to talk to, though. Yeah, he was a little indecisive, but that didn't make things awkward. So, Sylvite waved him in, with a little, "Hey!" The chair pillow was freshly fluffed up. Sylvite had gotten into her candy stash, but there was still some left for him at the edge of the desk. "Welcome, welcome. How's it going? Any different now that the aliens showed up?" And the rest of the battle thing, and the rest of the fallout, but he was the one who got to bring that stuff up, if he wanted.

Fulgurite always appreciated the open door policy with Sylvite. Felt a bit less like the s**t and smoky mirrors and finding out people weren't really who they thought they were that was his introduction to the Negaverse and more like an actual friend -- and he knew she was his superior, sure, but. Better than prior experience. "Hey." He gave a half-wave and offered a friendly grin before strolling in and quite happily going toward the chair pillow. He definitely enjoyed being comfortable in these meetings. And the free candy. Couldn't ever protest the free candy. He might have snatched a few without asking. Figured that since they were pushed toward his seat they were probably his-- Took a moment to unroll one of them before he responded, taking a moment to consider what the right answer was to everything that had ******** transpired. He was tense. Felt like he was vibrating and on edge and wanted to sock people extra hard for reasons why he wasn't entirely certain. There was a small part of him that said that wasn't healthy, but it was easily squashed and overridden and he ignored it among everything else. "The aliens? ********, never thought we'd see actual aliens, ya know? Because the senshi are aliens but... not." He popped a candy in his mouth. "I guess their technology is helpful. Definitely succeeded in our Queen-dictated mission, right?" Something about the way he reinforced Queen seemed a bit sarcastic. He quickly added, "They're still staying here, right? Think we gotta worry about them?"

The candy-snatching was acceptable and even appreciated. Sylvite had totally pushed them over there to make she he knew he could grab some. Once he did, she fished for a tootsie roll of her own and popped it in her mouth. If she focused on the taste of the sugar and the way it stuck in her teeth instead of on recent events, it helped some. "Yeah, I was not expecting the aliens," she said, 'cause that was easy enough to talk about, too. The aliens were not the part of that whole situation that was keeping her up at night. "I don't think anyone was expecting the aliens. I guess it makes sense though? It seems pretty unlikely that all the worlds are dead. They seem pretty chill, too. From what I can tell, they're just here looking for that fugitive dude." They weren't looking for resources, or trying to live here, or do any of the stuff that made the senshi-type aliens problematic. At least, as far as Sylvite could tell. She didn't know as much about them as she probably should have, with everything else happening. Which brought them to tonight. "But I mean, like, now that the alien stuff's settling down, how are you doing? What're you up to?"

He guessed it was pretty unlikely the entire universe was dead. All these people from different worlds with whatever strange powers they had and they were all dead -- statistically, it didn't make any sense. "Some fugitive of theirs made it all the way here?" Fulgurite quirked a brow. "Earth is some kind of ******** nexus. Whatever, I guess." At least they didn't have to worry about them. Didn't know if he preferred that or not. Having something else to focus on might have been better than focusing on whatever he felt about this whole s**t. He tucked it away with another piece of candy nevertheless. Rounded back to the question about his own mood, what he was up to, guessed it made sense even as much as he wasn't sure how to answer it. He guessed he was alright. For a given value of alright. "Uh. I mean. I don't know. Negaverse is happy about all of this s**t so I should be too, right?" Another candy. "I'm mostly just tense though. Been patrolling a bit more to help. Not sure if it's helping." Well. It was somewhat helping. Temporarily. "I've otherwise been working on florist things. Uh, spent new year's eve with Dad, that was kinda nice."

Sylvite nodded. "Yeah. They're definitely chasing that one guy. I don't really know the details, though. I only really saw them during that one meeting when we got pulled off the battlefield." He must have been some kind of fugitive, though, right? Like, some kind of criminal. He was probably a really bad criminal, if people were chasing him down planet to planet and trying to catch him in big battles like the one that had happened that night. Whatever was happening with Fulgurite now as more important than alien drama from a couple weeks ago, though. "You're tense?" she asked, tilting her head and then puffing her cheeks out. "Patrolling's not helping? I guess that makes sense. It's good to get out and walk around, but patrolling's like, fresh air with a side of work." She didn't mention that she'd been stressed too, and no matter how many laps she walked around the city, it didn't seem to get much better. "Hmm. We could get ice cream?" she asked. That would have to help, right? She didn't think she'd ever felt worse after getting ice cream.

Alright, note to self, if he saw that one guy, report him as a fugitive. Then again, no need to encourage an actual invasion or whatever. Best to not associate. Seemed like the Negaverse had gotten what they had wanted out of them. If they were gonna leave them alone, he was content to just leave them and their intergalactic fugitive problem alone, too. Fulgurite snorted. "Yeah. Patrolling's like getting stress out by knocking people out for the cause. Guess it feels better at the moment." He shifted in his seat, running a hand through the top part of his hair and ruffling it before returning to his candy. "But mostly just feels like hollow work nonsense." Also, admittedly, felt rather odd to say out loud no matter how many times he acknowledged that was what he was doing. What the ******** else was 'draining energy'? He didn't exactly mention he had occasionally taken the method of literally knocking people out instead of draining them to unconsciousness. Probably wasn't as important to the conversation as ice cream, which made him lean forward a bit. "s**t," his eyes widened, "well, I haven't tried that yet. I'm down for getting ice cream. Been a hot second since I've had any." So long as he didn't go overboard it should be fine. Maybe they could go to a place that had a pistachio flavor or something...

"I mean, it's not hollow," said Sylvite, admittedly kinda hollowly. Her passion came back a little bit as she kept going, though. "I know draining gets kinda repetitive, but we need that energy to stop the White Moon, and trust me, we need to stop them before they hurt anyone else." She might have been tired. She might have been pretty jittery and shaken from all the death, and all the treason, and all of the stuff that people on the other side had been saying to her lately about the Negaverse, but no matter what, she was able to hold onto that. Order did awful things. Order was worse. They needed to be stopped. Yeah. She needed to take care of the people she was responsible, for, too. She needed to show them the truth, to help them stop Order. So, ice cream. "Yeah, I think we could both use a little pick me up," she said, scooting out of her chair so she could step over and hold her hand out to Fulgurite. "The place at the mall should still be open, they've got a lot of good stuff."

The way Sylvite focused on the hollow bit and the way she sounded caught his attention, and Fulgurite's brows rose in curiosity. Did she see patrolling in the same way--? Right. Stop them before they hurt anyone else. He couldn't quite help the nagging voice in his head that asked about what about the people the Negaverse hurt internally that he quickly buried down, buried it down under the question of why the Negaverse had such suspicious ******** recruitment methodologies if the White Moon was really fully in the wrong -- "Yeah. Guess so." He idly brushed a few hairs away from his face. "We're supposed to be doing the best to protect Earth or whatever, right?" By punching people and drawing their energy from them. Maybe it was better that he didn't inspect that. Besides, there was ice cream. Fulgurite came to his feet, stretched and rolled his shoulders, and took Sylvite's hand. "But protecting the Earth requires a recharge. I'm good with a mutual pick-me-up. I think I've been there before? Sounds familiar..." Before they left, he did scoop up a couple more pieces of candy with his free hand. Just in case.

"For Earth," Sylvite agreed, and she grinned for the first time in a while. See? He was getting it. She was remembering it, remembering just what is was that they were fighting for, even if all of the recent stress and betrayal and dead people had gotten her on the verge of forgetting that just a few minutes ago. They both could use a little bit more of a boost, though, and that was where the ice cream came in. There was this chocolate chip cookie flavor that they'd started around the holidays that Sylvite just couldn't get enough of. It could chase away the rest of the bad thoughts, she was pretty sure, so that all they would have to think about was protecting Earth. Yeah. That was definitely how it worked. In any case, she grabbed Fulgurite's hand, and the two of them vanished.
