After her trip home to see her mother and siblings she decided it was best to make another trip to the island. She wanted to pay her respects to Aisha and see all her friends. Not to mention she also had to stop in and see her mentor, the woman she had left no note for when she'd decided to up and vanish with the rest to go on an adventure. Young and dumb was a fair description for her.
Of course that meeting was one she was putting off. Subira had visited her Mother Tree already and had spent time simply basking in her presence. It had been so long. Now she just had to build up the courage to face her mentor. Which is why she was left pacing back and forth on a side path telling herself she could 'do this.'

Zayana had only just arrived onto the isle, having needed to barter her way over. She wasn't surprised that many of the sisters didn't trust her, as she was an Elaria wandering alone. But as soon as they saw her daughter, and they pled their case, they were begrudgingly allowed passage. But it was very clear if they caused any trouble, they would be swiftly removed and banned from the area.
Zayana huffed a moment in thought, her daugther nowhere to be seen and many dark eyes glaring down at her. Gosh, it was almost worse than Zinris. It was as if they saw her as an enemy waiting to burn down the great mother.
For now, she'd take her time before visting Aisha. She needed to show she was not a threat, and so she instead told stories of her travels to the younglings, and patiently offered to help the older sisters with any tasks to ensure she was welcome and had lodging.

Her pacing led her farther and farther down the path until finally she was within sigh of something that caught her attention. Or rather someone. Their Grey skin caught her off guard and she paused mid step to look toward the sister that was there. Subira's head tilted to the side as she watched for a second. Now that was a color she was not used to seeing. Not that she minded. Curiosity got the better of her and she made her way toward the Grey skinned sister. "Hello." She called out to Zayana. Subira made sure to keep a friendly lit to her voice. "I've not seen you here before. My name is Subira." She was hoping that with the introduction that she'd get a name and figure out more about the new sister.

It had taken a few days to not be so hesitant around the Alkidike sisters, something her daughter encouraged as she wasn't even aware why she was so cautious. Maybe it was the fact she was raised to see these sisters as enemies, even if she fled the people who pushed that teaching. Old habits die hard.
So, when the voice called out, she thankfully didn't jump or dive into a protective stance. Instead, Zayana took a breath and turned to examine the girl before her.
"Hello..." she said slowly with a nod, "I'm just passing through...I'm Zayana."
Be nice, be respectful, and she would be just fine.

Passing through. She could understand that since she was too, technically. Subira nodded her head with a smile. "Nice to meet you." And it was. The Alk had only met a few other Elaria during her travels and they were a lot more stand off-ish than Zayana. "I'm just here for a visit myself. My family lives on the mainland." She motioned with her thumb toward the shore she knew the mainland to be near. Subira had a grandmother in Chibale but she didn't live with her.

The girl was friendly, which allowed Zayana to relax a bit as she rolled her shoulders, loosening he tense muscles.
"Oh' She replied in surprise, glancing to where Subira nodded and glancing back toward the woman before her, "My daughter wanted to visit each of the trees...so here we are." She replied with a friendly conversation. It was easy to be comfortable sharing such things when you were on the soil of your sisterhood. Plus, considering how many hoops she had to jump through to even get on a boat here, she trusted that this place was safe, as were the sisters within it.

Knowing that the Elaria had a daughter that wanted to see all the mother trees made her smile. "I'm glad she has the curiosity and you are nice enough to take her." Subira knew there were some parents out there who wouldn't take their daughters out like that. "I hope she's enjoying it so far. How many has she seen?" She was curious to know if this was the beginning of the adventure or the end.

She smiled at the complement, both to her and her daughter.
"Our first stop of Zinris to see Elzira. It has been...more than awhile, so it was nice seeing how healthy she was. Especially after all of those rumors..."
She tried not to feel anxious about the thought, the idea of the seed being stolen making the mother sick. Thankfully she discovered that it was more of a...maturing than a sickness.
"Now we're here, and we're going to head to Chiume soon to see the newest tree if they permit it."

Subira did not miss the words. 'First stop in Zinris.' That meant that this Elaria had been elsewhere. "Not to be rude but.. Does that mean you moved away from Zinris?" Was it the same as when Subira had left? Did this woman also help to plant the seeds for another tree? "I only ask because I went with the sisters from Chibale to plant a new seed so I was wondering if you had done the same." Subira lifted her hands to show she wasn't trying to pry too much.

Ah, guess she really should have been clearer.
"Yes, we're from Kiros. My daughter is an Elidae. The one that's stood out these past few days." She shrugged at that, knowing her daughter was pretty proud to be herself and also be with the Alkidike sisters.
"My mother was one of the ones who worked to get a seed there...I just followed along and spent time in Kahikina while they settled in. I wasn't really part of that group...though Esena did bless me with a bloom soon after she was able."

Her mouth formed an 'o' as she nodded. That made more sense now that she thought about it. "Congratulations then. Belatedly." Subira chuckled.
"I never asked to be blessed even though I had the chance. A good thing since my siblings would have been upset with me." Subira gave a sheepish smile. The half lecture she'd gotten from her younger siblings had been an experience.

Laughing at the congrats, it came out in a short bark almost.
"Thank you, she's my greatest achievement."
Then she shrugged at the extra information, "There's no rush. When you're ready, you'll know. And Aisha will know." She added helpfully, "There's a reason why I only have one, after all!"

Subira adored children. Always had. But she wasn't so sure she was parent material. Babysitting was one thing, raising them was another. So she cringed a little. "I don't think I'll ever be ready. The idea of being permanently responsible for another is frightening." Still, she was impressed with others that could do it.
"I do hope that the two of you are enjoying Chibale so far. Anything I can help with? A tour or suggestions for the best food?" Since her mother loved to eat snacks she was in the know about where to go for what might hit the spot for a hungry belly.

Zayana smiled in understanding, "Oh yeah, it's a lot." She replied simply, nodding but also knowing she wouldn't take it back. She loved her daughter, and was very thankful she had her family to support her in raising the young girl. It took a village, after all.
"We are, for now we're just settling in. We are in one of the homes saved for visitors. Though I'll take some food suggestions if you have them!"

She had to think about it for a second before she recognized what the girl meant by homes for visitors. "Oh yeah. My Grandmother's place isn't too far from those." Subira smiled. "Hope they're comfortable. I've never stayed in one."
When the Elaria mentioned suggestions on food she perked up. "Sure! You want more snack foods or meal types?"
