Pendour fiddled with the settings on her signet ring.

"Sess?" she asked, bringing her hand close to her mouth so he could hear, maybe, and hoping it would go through. She hadn't tried calling anyone before, event though it had been a while ago, now, that Soleiyu had encouraged her to upgrade the ring so that she could.

Sessrumnir did not deserve any more cryptic, scribbled notes, though. She wasn't sure exactly how long it had been since he would have gotten the message from Jet. Enough had been happening that Pendour hadn't really been keeping track of time on top of everything else, but they'd ended up on Encke's world to get away from the youma that Jet had sent after them, and at that point she felt like she owed Encke some explanations.

That meant it had probably been long enough Sess to get suspicious, or even worried, so as soon as she'd touched back down on Earth, and let Encke go on his way, Pendour had pulled out her ring.

"I'm okay," she said quickly. "Sorry for not saying anything sooner. Things got, um, weird? We had to hide for a little."

That was the simplest way to put it.

"But I'm okay," she said, again, hoping that her words were going through.

"I'm fine," she said, again, wishing there was some way to make him believe it.

"We can talk in person if you want to make sure this isn't a recording or something? I'm," she trailed off to double check the street signs, since she hadn't really been paying attention to their exact location back when they'd been busy running, "Sort of by the mall? Um, the south one."

Not exactly close, but she started to walk in that direction as she kept talking.

"Encke was with me. Jet went after him more than he went after me. But, I think I actually managed to stop the worst of it? I was panicking, and I upgraded, and that helped."

It was hard to tell exactly what her magic might have prevented, but she didn't think Jet had been trying quite as hard as he could have to send his little message. She knew that when he had attacked, she'd kept Encke from being badly hurt.

"We got away to space when he tried sending youma after us, but, um," she paused, and squinted into the shadows of an alley she was walking through, not knowing quite how to put this. "If you're wondering, I think he maybe doesn't actually want to work out your differences."

"A Knight, yes." she said. It was still almost hard to believe for her, too, but the cape fluttering at her back was a reminder of what had happened. "So it shouldn't be hard to find my aura. I'll be at the park."

Mostly, she was happy that he seemed to believe that she was okay, now. If she kept talking, maybe that would help more until they were able to see each other face to face.

If Jet had captured her or something, she didn't think that he would just let her go talking and talking about her upgrade, and her friends.

"Encke was on the hill, yes. He was close to us. He was the one who helped Oberon with Caedus's starseed, if you remember that. He's very, um, purple? Oh, except his hair is red."

Since she knew Sessrumnir was coming to meet her, she broke into a run, and she found that she could easily run faster than she ever had before. It took some focus for a few seconds not to run into the corners of any buildings, but as things opened up as she neared the park, she pulled her ring up again and added, "Oh, and he's my best friend."

When Pendour spotted a flash of green tunic through the trees, she ran faster.

She ran right into Sessrumnir's arms, and she returned his squeeze with one of her own. It was tighter than he might have been expecting, with how soft her movements often were, but Pendour did not hold back so much when it came to showing people that she cared. After a few seconds, she loosened her grip a little but didn't pull away. Instead, she rested her forehead against Sess's chest.

Encke might have gotten her through the initial panic, but after everything that had happened, Pendour was still shaken enough that it was nice to have the physical contact to ground her.

Or, maybe that was an excuse and she just liked hugging him and hoped he didn't mind.

"See? I'm okay," she said, as usual not sure how to respond to being called beautiful. Instead, she shifted to look up at Sess with her good eye. "You, um, made Jet really mad, though."

Sessrumnir's hands on her hair were soft as soft, and Pendour did not move away. Instead, she melted even more into his touch, leaning heavily against him, and tracing light circles on his back with her own fingertips, in turn.

He probably would have noticed the way her shoulders tightened a little when he mentioned returning starseeds, even though she didn't say anything against it immediately.

Even though she hated violence, she wasn't sure how fiercely she was going to be able to argue for Jet's life.

"I might be able to get through to him," she murmured a few seconds later, deciding to stick with her morals and try. "He said he was going to hurt me as a message to you, but after I used my magic he didn't try so hard."

He'd still stabbed Encke, though, and Pendour sighed. "I don't know," she whispered. "I healed Encke, he's home, I just. Don't know."

"Well," said Pendour, smiling sadly into Sessrumnir's shoulder, "Last time he stabbed me in the back I lived, didn't I?"

It was meant to come out lighthearted, but she knew that Sess might not take it that way. She knew that he thought her idealistic, and reckless. It wasn't like she didn't care when she got hurt. She still had nightmares about losing the other eye, or a million other things that could happen that would leave her less able to do what she wanted.

"I'll be careful, though. I can promise you that."

She shifted more this time, finally shifting away from the hug.

"I can't promise that I won't try to reach out to him, though. Of course that's what I'm going to do, just like I don't think I can ask you to promise to be gentle with him."

The thought of Sess going out to fight made her stomach twist, but she pushed it down. She understood why people made the choices they did, in situations like this. She just had to be patient with the people on the side of Order, too, patient with teaching them gentleness.
