Quote: Prompt 3 (Drink Yourself Silly): Pop up shops are a dime a dozen in Destiny City this time of year, and for as much weirdness as they cause, there’s still something alluring about them. Walking through the city, you happen to come across one that seems particularly cozy and is decorated in such a way that you just know they’re trustworthy. The menu only has a few items but there’s something for everyone.
Maybe it’s hot chocolate, maybe it’s coffee, maybe it’s some chilly winter sweet--whatever it is, it’s delicious. And magic, but you didn’t know that when you ordered it. It started with an itch at the back of your throat, but what happened after that was anyone’s game. Some of the drinks turn into a tickle in your nose, and now you’re suddenly sneezing snowflakes for the next hour. Maybe you finish your drink and you suddenly feel warm--like you’re in the middle of summer. (Do you even need your coat? It’s so hot! --Or is that a fever?) Or, the itch turns into something else--and suddenly you feel the urge to sing. It’s compulsive, you can’t help yourself, you must sing. It’s like you’ve forgotten how to communicate in any other way. It fades an hour after you finish the drink, but still... Eso had gone out of his way to approach Andreiya with an outing suggestion. Eso didn't know the other well, hardly anything beyond a name despite them fighting together in the battle. With Eso being more comfortable going out among the humans, of course he heard about this little pop up shop everyone of the humans seemed to talk about. Remarkable drinks, sweet, and either warm or cold. That sounded honestly amazing right now. So he'd approached the other, asking to take him out on an the friendship.... date? He didn't know what you called it when you spent off time with someone you barely knew, but wanted to get to know. It wasn't like he chose Andreiya at random either. Recently Andreiya had been promoted, so it was, in sense, a celebration! Eso was going to 'pay' for everything, too. So, with his human disguise on, which honestly he looked the same with paler skin, human ears and eyes, he waited for the other to show up nearest the little plaza. Eso couldn't escort him here, he'd been out looking for something for his... romantic interest? His affection for Tenoch was unusual and he didn't know what to call it. Either way, he was waiting, hands behind his back, humming to the tune that seemed to be playing over some loudspeakers. Nice, festive music. Tiny humans sometimes sung the words, but it all meant nothing to him. Just felt... like a low, happy buzz under his skin.

Andreiya–Andrei, he reminded himself, while he was wearing this fake skin–had been doing his best to try and be professional. He didn't want to look like he was messing around, or having too much fun. He was working hard! He was a good Velencian, with good Velencian values!
…And a sweet tooth.
He couldn’t say no; it would have been rude, first of all, and second of all he was far too tempted by something he hadn’t tried.
He was nearly identical to himself while Andrei, only his ears were smaller and his skin was less colorful. He’d taken to wearing oversized sweaters because it felt like they had bigger pockets, which was good because the pants he wore very rarely had any at all. He liked the boots he had, only calf length but they were good for trudging through the snow.
He hadn’t really had any reason to be out except for this excursion, and he arrived precisely on time.
He raised a hand in greeting; he had come with only himself. He approached from behind and heard Eso humming. “Do you like their music?” he asked. “It keeps getting stuck in my head. I have read that plants enjoy music.” His garden was his passion project, and was working very hard to maintain it in the winter climate; he had a small patch of land that he was constantly building something on or improving to keep his little plants healthy. “I wonder if they would like this, too.”

Eso lifted his own hand and then nodded to the question. "I do enjoy their music. It is very uplifting. At least the ones playing now. I have heard some 'music'," he actually used air quotes here, "and it just sounds like noise! Like, not even good noise." Not like the noises that often soothed him to sleep. This was the type of noise that made everything too much and oft times Eso ended up with a headache. "I'm Elias." He gave a little grin and then hummed a little. "I don't see why not. It's very gentle music, but not really boring." He thought that now. Just wait for Carol of the Bells. Hands went behind him, lacing lazily as they chatted a little. "What plants are you growing? I need to pop in and see, don't I?" Eso was so curious. Which is why he wanted to try this one pop up shop. So after his question, he politely motioned for Andreiya to follow him and started walking in the directions he'd memorized. "I'm very glad you agreed. Human food and drink fascinate me. I am obsessed with their 'boba tea'?" Again, air quotes.

Andreiya nodded along as they spoke, and easily followed after Elias.
“I am growing many plants. I am testing soil quality and how different things affect their growth. I want to be able to support our world, and I think this is the most effective way to spend my time. I have learned that there are plants that can grow in nearly any condition. I wish we knew what condition our world was in so I could better understand what to research, but,” he shrugged.
“I suppose it is a dream to get soil samples and environmental reads to work with.”
He sighed a bit dramatically. “I cannot say that I am obsessed with this food and drink, but I do need it. I have no idea how they make so many flavors. Sometimes it is too much for me, but I am famished and I could eat anything right now.”
Maybe even meat.
But, probably not.

The information on their world was very limited. He could understand Andreiya's frustration, even if he was a touch dramatic. Elias wasn't going to judge. His eyes glittered with mirth as he listened to the other and then hummed. "I think it's charming how many flavors they have. I want to taste all of them and figure out which ones are the best." Who cared if it was all opinions. "As for food, you're in luck!" He spotted the place and pointed with a little laugh. "I think this is the place." And so he tugged the other along, nearly dancing with his glee. This 'holiday season' was infectious for good moods, it seemed. Elias pushed the door opened and motioned the other in with a dramatic flourish. "After you."

Andrei let himself be tugged along; he didn’t pretend to protest because he really did enjoy how much enthusiasm Elias presented while he was tugging him along. “Okay,” he said uncertainly, and nervously stepped through the door when encouraged to do so.
“Have you been here before? –Or have you just heard about this place? It is very, um.”
Oh, what was the word. Or, what was the nice word.
“Festive?”
That seemed right.
“It is a little, um. Powerful! On all of my senses. Oh, but it does smell good. It is cute. Come in. Do you want to share? I think I might want to try too much at once. But I do not want to waste anything!”

"This place? I've only heard about it. But the humans are very into it, and we do need to explore aspects of this life while we're here. If this 'pop-up shop' is the 'hit' thing, then that is definitely worth experiencing." At least, that is how Eso thought about it. Powerful? That was a very interesting term for it, though it was apt. Then Elias was asked to share and he positively turned boyish with his smile. "Of course! We can try a few things and split them so we do not waste it. A brilliant idea." His arm slid around the other's shoulders once they were settled in line and looking over what menu they did have. "A frozen hot chocolate? How does that work?"

Andrei gave him a look as he Elias wrapped his arm around his shoulder but he didn’t try to draw away–and maybe, even, liked the extra warmth.
“I suppose we will find out when we order it. I want,” he paused, squinted at the menu, and struggled a bit with the strange Earth lettering. The ComTech could help translate things, and he was certainly liberal in the frequency of its use. “The Raspberry White Hot Chocolate.” It looked unhealthy but his mouth was watering at the thought–and raspberries were healthy! Sort of! He didn’t know, he couldn’t even bring himself to put much effort into justifying the choice.
“You seem like you are settling in comfortably. I wish I could relax like you. You make it seem easy. I feel so bristly all the time. I will have to try harder to fit in. I want to have fun, too.”
…Even if they were working. He knew they were working! He was trying his hardest!

"It's not easy," Elias confessed, his voice quiet. They were up now, and he ordered a medium for both of them. Then he paid and shuffled him and the other to the side before looking back at Andrei. "I'm struggling a lot, actually. Still, there's nothing I can do but continue on. There is no use wallowing." Elias was really trying to not do that. The decision was made and it could not be undone. Why was he regretting it? "You just need to find someone to help you get out more. I do not see you out and about too much. I even get Tenoch out with me." Maybe he'd make it a goal to get this one out every two weeks or so. "Next time maybe you and I can do something fun. There's supposed to beach in the summer. I have read about them and they sound fun enough, but a lot of humans of all sizes and ages." He was saying in a round-about way that there would be children there. While Elias liked earth, children were something that made him want to hide away. They were so loud!

Andrei watched Elias curiously, worriedly. His brows were knit and there was only compassion and concern in his expression. “You do not look like you are struggling. Thank you for telling me. You are very strong to push through with such enthusiasm. I get out, but not out,” he admitted.
“When I go out, I do usually keep to myself. Experiences like this are new to me. I suppose I do need someone to help me ‘get out’ more. But if you are going out and doing fun things, I would like that. I will try to experience more. I would like to have more positive experiences here. It has been a struggle. I have had many experiences I do not wish to repeat. I know this is work, this trip to earth is not a luxury trip, but. I would very much like it to be a little less miserable.”
He sighed, but seemed to think on Elias’ words, and managed a little smile. “I am glad to be here with you, though. This is nice.”
