Nasrin always enjoyed spending some time along the beach. The young hybrid healer had been living in Matori for the past seven months with her family so that she could better understand the more traditional, magic aspect of healing. Her Belrean family had always been more science driven and it was always interesting to see how things differed here on the main continent. Admittedly the stay had been rather pleasant and Nasrin was having fun getting more in touch with her magical and potion making heritage. It didn't hurt that she had a very close friend staying nearby as well with her in the local inn and Nasrin cherished every moment that they had together while in Matori. A soft sigh did leave her lips though as he pondered things, the girl bending down to pick up a small seashell almost absent mindedly. Now that her lessons were almost finished would that mean Taaru would go along his own way while she went back to Belrea? Did she even want that? "Spirits. I really don't wanna think about that." Nasrin closed her eyes and shook her head against the building worries before losing her grip on the shell and sending it flying across the sands. Whoops!

Visiting family was a busy affair. It was wonderful and fulfilling, but utterly draining as well! Zota was much more used to the isolation of her home with her immediate family with the occasional visits to town. Here, there was her immediate family plus extended family, and it was so busy! There was always someone around and the weather was different and the food was different and.. it was a little overwhelming. She loved talking to people, but even Zota needed a little space sometimes!

Thankfully, there was plenty of open space in Matori to escape to. She was quite enjoying her walk along the shore, her feet getting stroked by each wave that came up. There was only one other person walking on the same beach, and they seemed distracted. She saw the shell go flying as she drew closer to pass the other girl, jumping a little when it landed at her feet. She stifled a giggle and bent to pick it up. "Did you want this?" she asked, holding the shell out.

"I am so sorry!" Nasrin's cheeks darkened with a flush as she rushed up to the youngling to reclaim her shell. "If you don't mind." She sheepishly held out a hand before letting out a small chuckle. "I suppose Matori beaches can be dangerous with flying shells." The young healer teased lightly since it seemed that the youngling wasn't injured or upset at her. Thankfully the shell hadn't hit her! Now that would have been a super awkward situation. Nasrin tilted her head as she studied the shell in question before letting out a soft sigh. "I suppose tossing a potential gift is a bad idea, right? I'm trying to get the perfect gift for my friend since he's done so much for me but honestly I'm at a loss." It was the season for gift giving after all with the winter solstice coming up. Now that she was worried about separating from Taaru, Nasrin wanted to find a present so that he wouldn't easily forget her in the future.

Zota's brow rose curiously. Were flying shells actually a problem? Was she being teased? .. wait, the woman was teasing herself! Zota prided herself in being able to read people and what their words were saying, even though she was young and still had much to learn. "It's alright," she chirped. "It didn't hit me. I'm just happy it didn't break; especially if you want it as a gift!" Fingers rising to tap her lips, she raised her eyes to the sky with consideration. "Yeah, you don't want to throw a gift around... Maybe it's not the right gift then? I bet you wouldn't throw the right one."

A laugh escaped Nasrin's lips at the observation. "I suppose that's true. It would be a shame to throw the right present." The hybrid still kept the shell in her hand as she glanced across the beach. It wasn't as if the perfect gift would wash ashore, right? "Well since you seem to have infinite wisdom what would you suggest as the perfect gift? Do you have someone to prepare a present for this season?" Nasrin glanced towards the girl with a small smile, her soft blue gaze full of honest curiosity. When she was a youngling she had made sweets to share with her parents and always made flower bouquets for others too. Not like she would expect a flower bouquet to last long in this situation. Nasrin wanted something that would last a long time and so that option was out, especially since she also made certain to leave floral arrangements in their inn rooms anyways.

Infinite wisdom? The idea tickled the youngling greatly and she straightened up to shoulder the responsibility she was being given. "Perfect is hard. I think... it depends on what your friend is like. Are they from here? Do they tell you about secret things they like?" Oh, did she have someone? "I want to make something for mama and papa and my sister. Mama grew up here, so I'm making her a necklace with shells that she can take back home when we go. I don't know what to do for papa or Ana yet."

"Well he's well traveled and from Zena." Replied Nasrin with a small smile. "He loves animals and archery, so does that help?" Maybe that was the simplest starting point for finding a good gift. "I want something that he can remember me by if we ever have to part." Okay so maybe that sounded a bit cheesy now that she said it out loud but the young healer simply grinned at the thought. So what if it was? She didn't care as long as Taaru felt the same. She twisted the shell in her fingers before holding it back out towards the youngling. "That sounds like a lovely gift for your mother. Maybe you should also think about your papa or Ana's hobbies?" It had given her a lot to think about after all. What if she made a special quiver for Taaru or something like that? A protective armband even since he was an archer? That way he could always see it and be wearing it. Nasrin smiled at the thought. "I think you've helped me piece together some ideas, actually. Is there anyway I can help you with your gathering for the necklace or with anything else?"

"Oh!" Nasrin giggled as she realized something. "I suppose it's only polite to introduce myself. I'm Nasrin and it's been nice to meet you child of wisdom." Her gift idea savior! It was a playful tease but honesty Nasrin was happy to have the company to help her work through things like this. If she had been left alone then surely more shells would have gone flying across the beach!

Zota perked up excitedly. "That sounds like my Uncle Koril! Except for the archery.. I think? Maybe he does like it. I don't know. I can see him doing it. He lives in Zena and has lots of animals." Was this woman's friend like her uncle? "My papa likes archery, too. Maybe I'll make a pretty accessory for his quiver!" That sounded nice. Ah, but then the other said said there were already ideas coming! She had helped! "Thank you, but I want to collect everything myself."

Polite? Oh, how rude of her to forget! The youngling blushed sharply and gave a small curtsy. "I'm sorry! My name is Zota. It's nice to meet you, Nasrin." Giving the woman a quick once over, she gave a sweet little smile. "You're pretty. Do you live here?"

"Oh? I guess he would get along great with Taaru if they ever met." Commented Nasrin with a small smile. "His family has a whole range of animals up north in Zena at a sanctuary apparently." She would like to go visit it one day even if the thought of the colder country always sent a shiver down her spine. Nasrin was just too accustomed to ocean climates with lots of sun and warmth. How would she fare in the cold? Either way she found herself focusing on the child again. "An accessory? That sounds like a lovely idea for an archer. I won't help you gather things but maybe I'll keep you company while I look for my own materials then." What an energetic and responsible youngling to want to take care of this on her own! Nasrin let out a laugh as she bent down to scoop up a piece of shell, the pretty fragment gleaming like a rainbow in the sunlight. At least the beach provided them with plenty of crafting materials.

"No need to apologize!" Nasrin gave a small curtsy in return. "Thank you for the compliment, you're very pretty yourself." The healer nodded. "I have family here but I actually came from Belrea. What about you?" She had to study the youngling closely to pick up the Matori traits but they were there in the golden appearance of the girl. Another Matori hybrid like her then?

Taaru... If she could remember it, she would have to see if her uncle knew this other man at all! The offer for company had her nodding excitedly. "Sure!" While she had come out for some space, Nasrin was a new enough face to ward off the overwhelming effect her family had. Chatting with someone new would be refreshing! The deep pockets on her skirt would be perfect for carrying little shells and stones as well. It was as though this walk had been fated!

The returned compliment had her blush shift from embarrassed to pleased. "Thank you!" She was a youngling who took great pride in her appearance... "Papa is from Sauti. Mama is half Oban and half Matorian. I hope I'm as pretty as mama when I grow up." It was a tall order, for certain; but she thought she would be able to come close, at least.

"Aww, I see." Nasrin smiled at the youngling. "I have no doubt in my mind that you'll be super lovely when you grow up." She promised with a little wink before going about to dig for shells. It seemed like the youngling had quite the interesting family though. Honestly she wondered about her parents now that she thought of things. Should she send them presents as well? Perhaps so. Nasrin smiled at the thought before pointing out a little tide pool. "What about that place, Zota? There have to be a few cute things in there!"

The assurance made Zota brighten considerably, her hands clasping together in front of her chest. She really hoped so!

"I bet it does!" She hurried over to the pool to get a look, peering hopefully into the shallow waters. She knew the little pools could hold all sorts of things! The first thing she saw was something that looked like a small star! Cooing softly, she reached in and plucked it up with interest.

That is, until the short points of the star began to curl around her fingers.

Zota let out a shriek and flailed her arm wildly, the unfortunate creature flying up into the air in Nasrin's direction.

"Eeep!" Nasrin flailed but found herself catching the starfish...right on her face. The healer laughed as she pried the small creature off, her sides still shaking as she carefully taking it back towards the tidepool. "Maybe we should uh stick to ones not quite so lively." She teased as she gently tugged the little thing from her skin and onto a rock. Talk about a memory! Still, Nasrin was simply amused more than annoyed and she couldn't help laughing at the situation. Terrified and attacked by a starfish!

Either way she found herself pointing towards some empty shells that were floating along the edges. "There's some empty ones there and a piece of a starfish...they shed their legs as weird as that is." She explained as she remembered learning about them from her family members. Still it could add some nice design, right? The color was a really pretty teal that transitioned to almost orange at the tips. Soon enough though Nasrin knew she would have to go back to town, but the young woman decided a few more minutes with Zota surely wouldn't hurt her. That was unless more creatures from the tidepool came flying at her face! A grin of amusement crossed Nasrin's lips at the thought. Who knew finding presents could be so exciting?

Zota hurriedly brushed her hand off from the feeling of the sticky star, nose wrinkling with distaste. Gross! Her eyes snapped up at the other's yelp, her face heating up once again after realizing what she had done. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was alive." she blurted out. Yet, Nasrin was laughing... and soon enough, Zota was laughing as well. It really was funny to see; and of all the spots for it to have landed!

"They what?" She hurried close again for a look at the shedding, her nose wrinkling sharply. "Eww..." What crazy biology had a creature shed its own leg? Shedding skin was weird enough. Of course, she was happy to distract her thoughts by looking at the surrounding shells. "What do you want to make for your friend?" she asked as she plucked up half of a clam shell. The outside was a speckled pattern on the outside and iridescent on the inside. Pretty!

"No worries! It's a fun memory to share." Replied Nasrin with a playful wink before glancing over at a few more things in the tidepool. "A bracelet. It helps archers to have a guard along their wrist so I'll have to grab some leather in town and hope my sewing skills are up to par. Explained Nasrin before grabbing at another shell and gesturing towards a whole collection. "Maybe those along with some of those broken pieces of coral that were washed in? I think that would be pretty."

Her lips pursed in a sad protest though as she collected one final piece of coral for herself. "Thank you for everything today, Zota." She stated sweetly with a small smile towards the youngling. "It was a pleasure and I hope to see you around town again. For now though she would have to say her farewells so that she could get back to town and gather all of the materials she needed before the shops closed!
