The reindeer have been spotted eating everything, running in front of cars, chasing people down. It’s strange, almost as if they are possessed. They’re aggressive and hostile and not having any of this holiday nonsense. Are all reindeer like this? …Or have you run into a very aggressive youma masquerading as one? Note: If you use this for a powered battle prompt, it does not count for the ‘one youma battle per growth’ ; this is a special prompt where the creature will attack anyone. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to count this for a battle. The reindeer will not respond to any commands and cannot be destroyed; it will always run away before it can be defeated.
There was no guarantee that there was safety in numbers, but Beira was desperate. A normal patrol meant he just meandered around the area, made sure there was nothing dangerous. He wasn’t the strongest Senshi, but he was still doing his best. He wanted to play his part and make Destiny City a little safer.
Of course, he’d found a youma. Or, rather, it had found him. He hadn’t seen it, hadn’t felt it; it had charged behind him and sent him flying a few feet.
It was larger than him and he knew he couldn’t fight it; he cast his magic once but didn’t stay long enough to see if it hit. Instead, he ran–just enough to realize that there was another Senshi nearby.
…And the youma apparently noticed, too. It lifted its head and pawed at the ground and Beira knew that if he lost this youma, it was only going to go after the other one.
So, he ran to the Senshi and hoped he could reach them before the youma.
She stood out against the fresh snow on the ground, and ordinarily he would have asked for her permission or tried to get a better read before he touched her, but he could hear the youma behind him.
He hooked his arm with hers and pulled her, trying to encourage her into a run with him. “We have to go, now. Unless you’re ready to fight a youma twice my size.”

Helena blinked in confusion as she was suddenly tugged into a run and turned to look at the other senshi as they did so. “I’m sorry…what?” Her free hand pushed her glasses up her nose and she frowned, turning her head slightly and gasping. “That’s a reindeer! Do you think it belongs to Santa? Shouldn’t we help it?”
The idea of being run over by a reindeer obviously didn’t bother her. She wasn’t old enough to be a grandmother, so clearly it couldn’t happen…but…
A youma…one of the monsters that lived in the city?
“Oh! No, we should fight it! I can dissect it if we do! The two of us should be able to subdue it, don’t you think?”
Digging her heels in, Helena tried to stop the senshi, clearly wanting to try her hand at stopping the mad deer. “Come on! We can capture it and I can experiment.”

She was out of her mind. Beira lost his grip and alarm flashed across his face because–she could see it, right? She could see how big and fast it was and she wanted to fight it?
“I don’t think we can capture it,” he said quickly, and only managed to half turn to face the youma before it was nearly upon them.
He hoped this reindeer didn’t belong to Santa, because he didn’t know what they were supposed to do when it collided right into them. He felt an antler jab into his gut and toss him a few feet to the right, with so much force that he wound up face first in a pile of snow.
He didn’t get the chance to see what it was trying to do to the other Senshi, but he suspected the full-force collision wasn’t going to have ended well for her, either.

Helena scoffed. “Yeah not with that attitude we can’t.” This guy was clearly a weenie. There were two of them and one angry deer. They could totally take it. But…of course he didn’t even want to try, and Helena felt pain as she was struck by the creature, letting out a concerned, unhappy “Oof.” as she flew headlong into a separate pile of snow.
…Ow.
See, if he had just worked with her, that wouldn’t have happened. They could have beheaded the thing and been halfway to making reindeer sausage by now.
Struggling to her feet, Helena held on to her side, feeling what she hoped was just bruises already. She was able to breathe with only a little discomfort, so a broken rib didn’t seem too likely…but.
Where was the weenie?
She spotted him a few feet away in his own snow pile and sighed, stumbling as she took a step. Oh. Well, that could be useful!
Reaching down, Helena picked up the rock she had just stumbled on and hurled it at the deer. “You better run. I’m hungry. Weenie man, are you okay?”

Beira really didn’t want to reply to ‘Weenie Man’ but it wasn’t hard to tell that she was talking to him. He pushed himself up with a grunt; the snow was cold and it felt like he’d been dipped in an ice bath. The youma–or whatever it was–could have been on either of them in an instant and if it could do this much damage already, he didn’t want to know what it could do them while they were down.
Trample them, probably. Maybe it would eat them, what with how much this Senshi was talking about it already.
The youma did neither; the rock it it in the eye and in a flurry of feet and antlers, it stomped furiously. Whatever damage she had done left it reeling, and it thrashed for a few seconds longer as it blindly tried to skewer them. It was too far away, and shy of kicking up a few great scoops of snow and throwing it in their direction, it did very little.
Beria took the opportunity to again cast his magic and–he worked hard. He focused. He tried to make sure his attention was on it so he didn’t accidentally attack himself or this strange Senshi.
He didn’t know if his magic was in any way responsible, or if the youma was just done with him, but within a few seconds it charged–away from them.
Back into the forest. He heard it slamming into trees but it was gone from sight and–thankfully–not their problem.
He knew he was going to bruise, and he could taste blood in his mouth, but he stood up and brushed himself off.
“...Sorry,” he said, for bringing it to her. Not for trying to get her away from it. “Are you all right?”

As the creature took off, Helena sighed, feeling a little unhappy about it. “There goes our dinner.” She lamented softly, turning to look at the other senshi again, pushing her glasses up her nose. “I hurt. I’m hungry. We should have made sausage out of him. Have you had reindeer sausage before? I traveled to Alaska and had some, it’s quite delicious and interesting.”
She was quiet for a moment, sizing him up. “I’m Sailor Helena. What’s your name, Weenie Man? I still don’t see why we didn’t just stand and fight it. Maybe we wouldn’t have gotten hurt. But at least I don’t think anything of mine is broken, though, I could be wrong, but I’m able to breathe without agony at the very least.”
Reaching into her subspace pocket, she pulled out two packets of M&M’s and held one out for Beria. “Here.”

Beira accepted the M&M’s before he ever processed most of what she said; all he determined was that she seemed obsessed with eating that thing and–given that it sort of seemed to be out for blood, he wasn’t quite sure he wanted to think about eating it when he was still wondering about what it had been eating first.
“Beira,” he answered, trying not to sound so guarded. He’d been called worse, he didn’t need to get upset about it. “I didn’t want to fight it because I can’t trust my magic. Sometimes it seems smarter to find someone to help you than to try and take on something on your own. I didn't know what it was capable of and I thought it would have been better to find a more fortified location. I saw it pull out a tree before it came after me, so I didn’t want to know what it could do to me.”
Bruise him only, thankfully. He didn’t think anything was broken, just battered. A hot bath and some bedrest sounded really good right now.
“I’m glad you aren’t hurt. Sorry about your…dinner? I’ve never had reindeer sausage. But if you’re hungry, I can get you something.” He was grateful for her being there; even if they hadn’t been able to defeat the reindeer thing it had still run off. He wasn’t sure if he’d have been so lucky on his own.

Helena nodded and opened her candy, pouring the whole pack into her mouth and chewing slowly. She continued to nod as he spoke and when he invited her to dinner, she snorted, shaking her head and working to swallow the large lump of chocolate that was in her mouth.
Finally she took a step away, shaking her head again. “No thank you. I have a very hot, very beautiful and sexy girlfriend. She wouldn’t be pleased if I went on a date with someone else.”
She smiled idly and waved. “I should go before you start advancing on me in any other context.” With that, she took off, running for a moment and then slowing as pain lanced through her side. Well…Oh well.
Maybe she would go get dinner on her own. She deserved it.
