Ahnika had wandered out of the vicinity of her family pack once more, it hadn't been intentional as something in the sand had caught her attention and she just had to investigate it. On closer inspection however it turned out to be an overly smooth pebble gleaming in the sunlight. It hadn't stopped her curiosity from leading her onward, now determined to find something of worth. She kept sweeping at the dry earth with her paws to see if there were any treasures to uncover, moving ahead after every one while keeping her eyes firmly on the ground until her head bumped in to a hard surface.
She squeaked and shook her head at the unpleasant feeling, squinting at the source of her discomfort. A series of boulders sat in front of her. Now instead of searching the floor for incredible discoveries she wondered if these seemingly ordinary rocks had etchings on them or clues to an ancient pride. She began carefully circling them, entirely focused on the surface of the rock face.
