[ We're looking for two things in this world event. 1) Who is your character getting a gift for and why? 2) What exactly would be the perfect gift? You can spend the whole prompt reflecting on these decisions, asking a friend for advice on the gift to give, or going out and purchasing the gift. ]

Svadra was out once again at the market, searching for some gifts to give his sisters. He had a decent idea what to give Kaiva, so he was working on something for Xylia. With Kaiva, they had a shared passion for all things pretty and fashionable, but Xylia was a bit different. Her passion was food, spicy food that Svadra tended to avoid.
Yet here he was, looking at the treats that would be spicy but also last. He debated what to pick...maybe something sweet but cut with the spice? It was so hard to tell sometimes.

It had been awhile since she had a chance to go out, and Omira was taking advantage of her free time to purchase some gifts for her older brothers. Specifically, the twins, who had a birthday coming up. Both were a bit on the boring side, or so her older brothers thought, and so she knew exactly where to go - a rare book vendor that happened to be in town. If she was lucky, she could find something for both the scholar and the merchant to help them get on their way and accomplish their goals in life.
Little did she know, the gods were not smiling down on her, as she was fated to encounter someone she didn't quite get along with.

His face said it all, this was not the type of treats he was familiar with. But Xylia was his dear sister, and so he knew he needed to get this right, He may not prefer such things, but he adored and he would prevail. Plus, he wanted to ensure he treated them as much as he could in case either of his sisters decided to stay here while he went to Chibale to continue his own studies.

As she walked toward the store, she couldn't help but be swayed to make her own purchase, something for her and something very much an indulgence. You see, Omira loved clothing and spending on jewels, but her secret was she really adored the soft sweet texture of a rich Oban chocolate. Spicy, sweet, and oh so smooth, it was the perfect treat to top each day.
As she approached her favorite vendor to restock for the week, it was a little too late for her to notice the tall Oban hybrid. In fact, she nearly stumbled into the vendor next door when she caught sight of him and attempted to pivot away, clearly failing at keeping herself out of his view.
Drat.

Just as he was about to pick out a chocolate, no thank you to the samples, Svadra and many of the others were startled by the noise at the booth next to them. Turning to look with his bi-colored eyes, a thin brow rose when he realized just who was there. It was the petite Oban he had encountered a few weeks ago at the ceremony of mourning, the one who was so focused on Oban nationality that she had little clue exactly what it meant to be proud of an Oban past.
Letting out a soft sigh, he decided today was not the day he wanted to deal with her, and instead turned back and pointed to the dark chocolate covered in ruby salt.
"That please. Wrapped with a bow."

How absolutely mortifying.
As if stumbling and getting all the attention wasn't enough, the tall hybrid simply ignored her as if she weren't worth anything at all.
Thankfully, that shame quickly moved into anger and frustration, and she pushed away the hands willing to help and brushed off her pants with a bit of a huff. There was no way she would let him ruin her purchase or treat, and so she raised her chin high and stomped to the vendor, who looked confused as he was finishing wrapping up the sweets.
Oh no, it was her favorite.
Did she dare buy it and have him notice?

As the vendor completed his order, Svadra watched as he glanced to the girl who was now next to him. Did she really want to continue their conversation. Turning to look down his nose at her, he held out his hand and took the gift, before adding it to his bag and stepping back a pace.
He raised his brow again and nodded for Omira to move in, and would have waved his fan had he had it out.
Oh why didn't he bring it more often, it was a perfect extension of his mood. Oh well, next time.

As he moved away, Omira moved forward and pointed at the same chocolates, a rich dark with the ruby salt, nodding and smiling brightly at her favorite vendor.
"No need for a bow for me, Chorals" She said brightly, pulling out her coin and blindly giving him enough and then some. Quickly her bag was provided, and she smirked at her new treat before turning and nearly running into the still lingering hybrid. Still, she moved to the side and away from the few other patrons and looked him over.
"...you've got great taste. Shame I never saw you around." She finally commented cooly.

"Shame indeed." He replied cooly, though his tone didn't quite match the words he was saying. He continued to look down at the girl, before letting out a long breath that let out all of the negativity that might have been creeping in. Instead, he simply shrugged a moment.
"I'll be leaving Oba soon anyway, so there's no need to look for me in the future." He replied simply, moving further to the side as a few more patrons approached.
"Alas, we wont be able to work through our different opinions."

Was he jesting a bit with that last statement. Omira couldn't really tell, even when she narrowed her eyes to look at him from a different direction. Either way, she felt an unknown weight lift off her shoulders that this stranger was no longer upset with her, unwilling to accept that she desired such strong approvals from all around her.
"...you're leaving Oba?" She replied with surprise when his actual words sunk in, "If I were a gambling woman, I'd take a guess you're heading toward Jauhar?'

"You'd be a rich woman indeed. I'm heading to Chibale to begin my training in the Aishan sisterhood. Following in my mother's footsteps and all that..." This would be one of his last gifts he'd pass along to his sisters, and so he wanted to make sure it would count. Not that it mattered what he was doing, nor did she need to know, Svadra still didn't mind sharing the thoughts.
He was slightly curious what someone might think, even if they didn't understand why anyone would want to leave.

So he was going on a journey to find himself. Made sense, and Omira smiled lightly at the reasoning with a nod, adding with a little cheek "...I could use the extra coin."
Finally, she decided to be possibly the better person, adding, "I have a lot I still need to learn about the world, especially those not from Oba. I'm sorry I judged so quickly, and am sorry we wont get a chance to see if we'd get along.".

He studied her a bit longer, and wondered if they would have gotten a chance at getting along with more time. He, pragmatically, figured they wouldn't, but he wasn't going to hurt the poor girl's feelings.
"We'll never know." He said with a simple, languid smile and a curt nod. With a wave of his hand in dismissal or farewell (who really knew), Svadra turned and moved away from the girl, ready to head home with his gifts for his sisters. Hopefully, they'd like them.

She smiled brightly, nodding with a laugh at his response. She too wasn't holding her breath thinking they'd be friends, but if he were truly leaving, she wanted to respect him all the same and nodded back at his farewell. She still had so much to do, and this little pit stop was very much not on the plan. So, she turned the other way and rushed to the next store, determined to get those gifts and get home with time to spare.
