Aelle had flown Jhin through Tale and into Oba within the span of a few days. Honestly the ranger had no real idea of where he was going save for the fact that Kyril had constantly dropped hints about a dancing school? Jhin chewed his bottom lip thoughtfully as he wandered through the markets, his satchel full of random belongings that he had packed in a rush hanging loosely at his side as he wandered about hoping for some hints that would lead him towards Kyril. Now that he had stood up to his aunt and gotten something close to a blessing from her, the man was eager to find his lover and reconnect. The only question was how?

Harika found herself eager to venture though the marketplace, the girl carrying a basket full of silks and other accessories that she would find important for crafting new dresses for the shop. Even if she wasn’t a head seamstress the apprentice enjoyed practicing new designs in her room that she rented at the shop, the little area crowded with so many of her pieces already but cozy enough for her to work with. However, in her haste she had not been planning on bumping into a Sautian man and it was with a loud ‘oof’ that she found her materials spilling across the market street.

Jhin winced when someone collided into him and at first his instinct was to turn and walk away. But then he noticed the materials spilled all across the street and a sigh left his lips as he slowly started to reach for the silks and helped the girl to gather as much as he could. “Careful!” The ranger called out before grabbing the girl and tugging her against him so that a group of earthlings could race through on their xaraan. “You nearly lost an arm there.” He chastised the girl before slowly letting go and steadying her.

“I’m sorry.” Harika’s cheeks flushed before she shot a glare towards the riders. “Not like that’s supposed to be a race track!” She yelled even though they were long gone. Still, it didn’t stop the disappointment from crossing her features as she noticed her ruined materials. A heavy sigh left the girl’s lips as she slowly crouched down and tried to gather the silks, the torn pieces hanging limply from her fingers with new dirt stains across the previously vivid colors. “So much for that.”

“Is it always this chaotic in the market?” Jhin asked even though he knew the answer all too well because of his own personal experiences when escorting merchants back from Tale into the crowded city with its bustling markets. He never had enjoyed the city since the place was simply too loud and chaotic for his tastes. Thieves ran rampant, the rich didn’t seem to care about the struggles of the poor and the divisions within the walls were a drastic change from the peacefulness of his own community within the village where everyone was treated like family. “I am sorry for your lost belongings. Is there anything I can do to help?” Already he regretted the offer but he was not one to simply leave a person, especially a young girl in distress like this.

“Can you turn back time so that my materials aren’t wasted?” Quipped Harika before shaking her head. “I appreciate the offer but what is lost is lost. I’ll have to make due with it unless I find more materials.” Her gaze softened as she noticed that the man seemed to be somewhat on edge, his foreign appearance making her recognize that he was not a native to the city. “What about you? Do you need help?”

Jhin blinked at the sudden offer before letting out a laugh. “You literally almost got run over and want to ask if I need help?” The ranger shook his head in amusement before reaching for one of the last pieces of material and handing it over to the girl. “I am looking for a place if you could direct me, but should I offer to help you with some materials first?” It was only fair if he gave her something for being his guide within the city, right?

Harika pursed her lips as she contemplated the request and aid. “I suppose that wouldn’t be such a bad trade and I am in need of new supplies now.” She admitted finally before holding out her hand towards the stranger. “My name is Harika and you are?”

“Jhin.” He took Harika’s hand and gave it a firm shake before letting go again. “I’m looking for a dance studio but we should get your materials first since we’re already in the markets.” Once he found the dance school then surely he would be caught up trying to find out Kyril’s whereabouts. Jhin did not intend to stay in the city for long and just wanted to get what he could before leaving again to find the artisan.

“Nice to meetcha.” Harika grinned before fixing her basket on her arm. “Though I did not think you were a dancer, not with all of those leathers and that fierce looking bow on your back.” Along with like all of those hunting knives that she noticed along his sides too and what not. The man definitely did not look like an entertainer, not with that attire at least. “The silks are in the stall over there, I’ll need to find a new color that I can work with since that was the last bolt of crimson.”

“I’m not.” Replied Jhin quickly with a slight flush, “But I am looking for someone and they should be able to direct me since she has connections at the dancing school. It’s apparently known mostly for dancing but hosts some other arts? An academy founded by a noble household that sponsors talents from all classes instead of only having students from affluent families?” He felt like he was rambling at this point and Jhin was honestly ashamed that he hadn’t caught the name from Kyril even though she didn’t talk too much about her past while they were together. At least he had learned this much, right? He could not even begin to imagine what it would be like to not know this hint and try to track her all across Matori and Oba.

“Oh! I think I know that place.” Harika grinned as she tossed her braid over her shoulder. “Believe it or not I was thinking about looking into that place though I guess being a seamstress doesn’t fit in with the finer arts, right?” She smiled towards Jhin as she started leading them up the street and towards the open market stall that was covered in a variety of silks and other accessories for tailoring a dress. “If the pink hair doesn’t out me or the purple crystals then it’s fairly obvious I’m not exactly from a family with a lot of connections in the capital. I came from overseas and it’s been a bit tricky to find a place but thankfully I found work and I’ve been busy designing outfits.”

“So you do know about it.” A sigh of relief left Jhin’s lips as they approached the stall. It was not as if he doubted Kyril’s words but more so he was worried something had happened or that it would be harder to find the academy. “That would seem to explain a lot.” Jhin admitted as he truly noticed the girl’s more foreign appearance. Even with the recent changes in the world the Oban nobles were still more elite and rarely let in outsiders. “So you design outfits?”

Harika nodded as she started to shift through materials, her fingers lingering on some deep indigo silks before working her way towards brighter colors. “I do know about it and it’s fairly close so this will be an easy trip for us both.” She admitted before tucking a few pieces of silk into her basket. “I do. If you ever need one let me know.” Harika found herself teasing as she glanced towards Jhin.

“Actually….” Jhin paused before glancing over the girl once more. “Do you have anything prepared?” If the school was that close then perhaps he would have time to pick up some gifts along the way? It would feel better than finding Kyril empty handed perhaps. Jhin’s fingers trailed over a piece of silk that faded from indigo into other colors almost like a sunset. It truly was lovely. He noted even though every fiber of his being wanted to rush towards the academy so that he could quickly find Kyril. But another part was admittedly nervous and he prayed that he was making the correct decision by coming to Oba like this.
