It was a dark and stormy night.
A cliche, perhaps, and it hadn't been quite so stormy when Aokigahara first headed out for an evening's patrol, but it was definitely so now--clouds obscured the moon, and in the little park he'd chosen to walk, there were only so many lights, and they did little to cut through the relentless pour of a mid-autumn thunderstorm.
He'd been lucky--managed to find a covered sitting area by making his way back to the main path--but he was still soaked, and pondering the merits of heading home in this mess. It would be quite a walk, even powered--so perhaps it was a better choice to wait and see if the storm passed.
He could feel other people nearby, his aura senses undimmed by the storm, but the pinpricks were mostly Order, and that at least was reassuring. No one to pick a fight with him in this shitty weather. And truth be told, if someone tried, he was fairly certain he wouldn't rise to the bait. Not when it would mean getting even more soaked.

Helena didn’t mind rain, but she wasn’t that much of a fan of storms.
She had been investigating the park, hoping to find a monster or something to ease the wanting in her heart that yearned for the day she could see Mirzam again, but there had been nothing. Nothing but this damn storm. She had stayed under a tree until a particularly loud clap of thunder made her move, idly wondering if she were going to be more likely to be struck by lightning considering…
Well.
She was just following her orders.
The softly glowing purple blob that sat under the covered area was someone who felt...reassuring. Helena had put her glasses safely into subspace, there was no point to wearing them when she wouldn't be able to see due to the water anyway so…
Walking over, she sat down next to the figure--another person, yes that was good. Reaching again into her subspace pocket, she drew out a large packet of M&M’s. It was a resealable bag, and so she opened it, grabbed a handful and offered the bag to the stranger. “Chocolate makes everything more bearable.”

Of all the things Aokigahara had expected, when someone else came to sit next to him, perhaps the bottom of the list was for them to offer him M&Ms.
Not that he was going to say no, when snacks were on offer, since there was never a bad time for chocolate.
"Thank you," he said, and he took a handful from the bag, with very little thought. "Kind of you to share." A quick glance up and down told him that she was definitely a Senshi; all the hallmarks were there, and he couldn't think of a Knight faction that would make sense for her look.
"I'm Aokigahara. You?"

Again, Helena had shoved the full handful of candies into her mouth, so she was quiet as she chewed, and finally, she nodded. “I am Helena of Wit. Aokigahara...why do you glow? I wear glasses, but I figure there’s no point in the rain, they just get messed up and I can’t see anyway. But I saw that you glow, and you don’t feel uncomfortable. And you are obviously a human, I can see that much now that I’m sitting next to you, so.”
She looked at him, expectant and took another handful of candy, blinking slowly.
It was a look that she had normally, intense, curious. Usually it was made better by her thick glasses but. Right now she looked like a drowned rat with an intense stare. But...oh well. It was raining.
Helena gave Aokigahara plenty of time to answer, as she shoved the second handful into her mouth.
Chocolate really did fix everything.

Aokigahara blinked at her. Helena's stare was particularly intense, and it made him want to turn away, but it would be rude to do so. The question also made him feel a bit self-conscious, as if she was staring though him.
"Ah..." He reached up and adjusted his own glasses, to give himself a moment to think. Certainly, the weather wasn't helping him see, either, and his glasses kept threatening to fog over. "I glow because I'm what's called Transcendent--I spent enough time working on my Wonder, helping it grow and develop, and in my case, driving out a monster created by accumulated malice and pain." He sighed, quietly. "It...gives me certain benefits. No one can touch my starseed, I'm invulnerable to corruption, and I can go to my Wonder twice as often as a Squire normally can."

Helena paused and looked at him with extreme interest now. “What is a Wonder? Is that like my Homeworld in Space? You can go twice as often?”
Her mind was whirling with ideas now. How often she could go up there and spend time with Mirzam...oh.
She shivered, from excitement, from the chill or from something else, she wasn’t quite sure but. “How do I go about it? I just have to make it better? I’ll bring chocolate up there. Chocolate fixes everything. I want to be glowing too, I can’t get up there often enough at all, and I hate that.”
Huffing, Helena took another small handful of candy and chewed sullenly. “...I had so wanted to go the other day but I couldn’t. It has made me very cross.”

"A Wonder is like the Knight version of a homeworld, yes," Aokigahara said. Had no one explained anything to this poor girl? Maybe she was very new; he'd certainly flailed around quite lost until he met Mont Blonc and Scholomance, so it wasn't as if he had much room to judge.
"I...am not sure that chocolate is entirely the secret here? But frequent visits definitely are; it took me many years of going as often as I could before I Transcended, and I had to accomplish a great service to the world--it involved defeating a monster with the help of a number of others, but it's a bit of a long story." He looked mildly sheepish about it.
"You sohuld be able to go once every three weeks--that's how it was for me, as a Page."

“Three weeks?”
Helena was absolutely indigent about that and three unchewed pieces of chocolate flew from her mouth at the force of her words. “That isn’t enough by any means! I want to go at least once a week! This isn’t fair!”
She would have to learn to glow. She would have to figure this out. Mirzam would help her. If it gave them more time together, Mirzam would obviously help.
The Squire’s words weren’t even listened to other than the part about the three weeks, and Helena finally just stood up, thrusting the now half empty packet of candy at the male. “I need to go. I need to make plans to start glowing so I can get up to my Homeworld more. I have things to do there.”
She nodded to him and closing the candy bag, tossed it into the squire’s lap before running out into the rain, jumping at a loud clap of thunder, but then disappearing into the night.
A great many things had to be done.
She couldn’t wait to see Mirzam again!
