That battle on the hill had gotten Bellite’s mind working again, and the fact that she had bonded to a youma who had been a senshi at one point during the battle was...well.
It was so interesting...and she did like interesting.
The waves of chaos that had spread out over the field...the senshi and knights who had utterly succumbed to it...it had been beautiful. A symphony that would end this war.
If they had just stopped fighting and let it happen…
She gave a soft sigh and paused, feeling a strong aura nearby. Well. A friendly chat never hurt anyone, right?
Besides, whoever it was...perhaps she could help them realize why ending this war was so important. Either that...or she would have a chance to see what her little Angora could do. Either way.
The Captain paused when the Knight came into view and she began to smile. “Well! If it isn’t Michel, as I live and breathe.”
The perfect person to talk about her new youma with! He would appreciate it, she was sure.

Living and breathing were luxuries Michel suspected Bellite wasn’t appreciating enough if she was going to approach him so flippantly. Or--no. He knew her.
She wasn’t bad.
That shouldn’t have been his first thought.
He wasn’t sleeping much--wow! What a surprise!--but he hadn’t run into so many Negaverse Agents yet that he felt like he’d even scratched the surface of his investigation.
Which was problematic, because one of them had to know where Lysithea was.
One of them had to be smart enough to bring her to him.
It was impossible to muster any joy; he looked like he was miserable. And, angry.
He looked more like Sanidine than he had in a long time.
“Bellite,” he greeted, without any cheer. “You’re in a good mood.”

There was a deep fondness in her eyes as she looked him over. How often had she seen him like this when he was worried about…
For a moment, Bellite’s breath caught. “...Did something happen to Evan? Did he get turned into a youma again? Sir,” She slipped into the mode of deference easily. Without thought. Even if he was a Knight now, he was still her General, from now until always.
“Are you okay? You aren’t sleeping again, are you? You look like s**t.”
Reaching into subspace, she pulled out a bottle of water and held it out to the Saturn Knight, her mom override kicking in as she looked him up and down. “Talk to me, General.”
...Perhaps if she reminded him of how things used to be...helping him make the right choice would be easier.

The bottle of water was closed; he tested it when he twisted the seal. Not that he expected Bellite to try and poison him. If she tried…
She wouldn’t try. He didn’t want to think about what he’d have to do if she did.
He downed half of it before he lowered it from his lips, but he didn’t recap it.
It wasn’t that he didn’t notice her calling him Sir, calling him General. It just didn’t matter.
“Evan’s fine,” he said quietly. “I’m not sleeping, no. I’m looking for someone, maybe you’ve seen her. Sailor Lysithea. Eternal Senshi of Unicorns. You know her?”

“Good. He’s a cute little bugger, and I don’t want him to be stuck as a youma again.” Bellite sounded relieved and looked approvingly at Michel as he downed most of the bottle. Clearly he wasn’t eating or drinking either. He did get like this. Single minded.
...Stupid.
The name made her pause, searching in her mental rolodex to see if she could place it, but nothing.
“I don’t know her. What happened? If you need extra eyes, I have them. Did she get lost?” How in the world could a senshi get lost...
Well. Perhaps a different kind of lost then. Bellite hesitated. “She...wasn’t one of those who fell to chaos at the battle the other night...was she?” If so, that would explain a lot...and if not...well.

A muscle in his jaw strained, and he didn’t even have to say it for her to know. “Yeah,” he said, and he sounded disdainful and stressed and angry.
“She was. And I’m looking to get her back.”
He was going to get her back. It wasn’t a question, it was just a matter of time.
He just needed to find her first.
“The faster I find her, the better off everyone else is. I’m gonna start getting desperate real soon.” He looked at her. "...You know what happens when I get desperate."

Bellite hummed softly, her curiosity piqued. She put sympathy into the sound though and reached out to pat Michel’s shoulder. “I’ll look for her. I’ll help, just like I did with Evan. But you do what you have to do. I know how you work.”
Inefficiently and recklessly. Oh well. That simply meant he would mess up at some point and she would have an easier time to get her General back. Not that she really needed a General any more. She had proved that over these past few years but...still.
Sanidine was good for the Negaverse, and if someone important to him had been corrupted well…
Eventually he would give up and allow the chaos to take him back too.
“I’ll work from my end of things, and when I find her, I’ll get her to you. Shall we have meetings where we check in again, or do you simply want to leave it up to chance. Regardless, I’ll poke around here on Fridays around ten, if that helps. If you want to come too, you are welcome.”

Michel watched her for a moment, debated, and then nodded. “Yeah. I’ll see if I can turn up.”
He didn’t remember her, not really. He remembered notes about her, he remembered what he’d been told. She didn’t seem like she was up to no good--but then, he hadn’t known her for a long time.
She was stronger. She’d been in the Negaverse for longer.
He knew what that Chaos could do to someone.
“Bellite,” he said, and gave her a second to focus on him. “This is important to me. I’m not going to let anyone stand in my way. I need her back.”

For a moment, her easy smile slipped as she remembered that he didn’t. To him, she was a stranger. A stranger that he had met, spoken two once or twice but. She wasn’t his Bellite any longer and that…
Well it hurt.
She forced the smile back onto her face and nodded. “I have never and will never stand in your way. If you don’t wish to turn up, that’s fine and there are no hard feelings. But I will work to find her, and if I can, I will work to get her back to you. Worst comes to worst I’ll just bring her to Evan, I’m sure he knows how to get in contact with you.”
The Food Truck was still often outside of her library, so that wouldn’t be too difficult.
“I won’t let you down.”

Michel was quiet for a moment. He looked at the bottle of water and then nodded, downing the rest of it before he dismissed it to his subspace to take care of later.
“...I appreciate it, Bellite. When I get her back, I’ll owe you one.”
He felt his skin crawling and wondered if it was just the Chaos or the desperation.
“Stay safe. I’ll check in on Evan to see if he’s heard anything. If I hear anything, or if I need to reach you outside of Fridays…” he nodded. “Yeah. Just. Keep an eye out for him. I don’t want him getting into any trouble, either.”

“You don’t owe me anything, Michel.” Bellite shrugged and gave a soft sigh. “I’ll watch out for Evan. I always do. Stay safe, and please see that you get some sleep. I doubt that she would want you running yourself into the ground. Not if you mean as much to her as she clearly does for you.”
She closed her eyes for a moment and then gave a small salute, teleporting before she could say or do something stupid. Right now, she had research to do, and for that, she would have to put her own feelings aside.
Hopefully this would all end in Sanidine coming back to the fold.
No, It had to end in that. There was nothing else that Bellite would accept.
She looked around her office. His old office and sighed.
It was time to get to work.
