Samantha was staying at Embly's house, but she didn't want to stay there long she needed to get her own life back on track which was how she found herself in destiny city looking for the bakery-cafe Puppy Paws. Samantha had her life turned upside-down recently after the battle on November first and she couldn't remember anything about her civilian life. She had no other choice than to take on a new identity and start from scratch. Luckily for her, she had been given a job offer by one of the senshi she had met on the battlefield. So here she was to see if she could get this job.
Samantha wanted to get a job as soon as possible and get her own apartment so she wouldn't be putting Embly at risk any longer than she needed to. She looked up at the sign for Puppy Paws. She then took a deep breath and opened the door and went inside to look for Kieran she could only hope he would be in today or she would have to come back another day and try again. She went in and looked around taking in the view of the cafe.

Most days, Keiran could be found at his bakery. It was his place, his pride and joy, and as much as he trusted his staff, it was still a pleasure to be in himself. Besides, he knew that Vela--Samantha, she'd said her new name would be--would be coming by soon, and he needed to be there for her.
Someone newly purified, free of the Negaverse's monstrous grip....yes, Keiran was all too eager y help her, like other people had helped him, once.
The door opened, and there she was, he was pretty sure. Keiran perked up, and patted his manager on the shoulder.
"Gonna be doing an interview," he said, and then he stepped out from behind the counter.
"Hi there," he said, giving her a broad, welcoming smile. "Come on, sit down, let's talk." He beckoned her over to an empty table towards the back, away from prying ears.

Samantha followed Keiran and she nervously ran her hands down her pants she didn't have much right now but she had enough money on her civilian self that she was able to buy a couple of outfits and wash some clothes at Embly's house so she was clean. Still, she really needed this job and that made her nervous. She had lost a lot to gain a lot and that meant there was work to be done to put her life back in order. She sat down and then said, "Thank you for the interview Keiran." Then she waited to see what his first question would be.

"Yeah, of course," Keiran said. "Us purified folks have to stick together, right?" It just made sense, as far as he was concerned; especially given the circumstances of her leaving the Negaverse, making sure that Vela had somewhere to land seemed like a rather critical priority.
"So, how much do you remember? I know it's a big jolt, having to leave your whole life behind, regardless of what pieces you do or don't keep."

Samantha let out a sigh and then said "Thanks that means a lot to me, it has been pretty hard I don't remember my civilian life, which is likely for the best whatever family I had is likely better off not being in the crossfire of the negaverse. I remember my powered life, I went with a nega solider once to the rift they were looking for a bone of some sort." She said "It was such a creepy place and there were monsters all over the place." She said softly. "It had some beautiful things too it was really weird."

Kerberos nodded as she spoke, frowning thoughtfully. "I never went down to the Rift myself. It was considered too dangerous to bring Senshi down there--I'm surprised they're doing it now. Youma hate us, no matter what color we wear." He rested his cheek in a hand.
"We can get you set up working as a cashier, and train you on all the more difficult stuff--baking, making drinks, all that. If you don't remember having any experience, we'll assume you don't have any and go from there. We'll start you at $15 an hour, plus tips--if it's handed directly to you, it's yours, and anything in the jars or left with credit cards gets pooled together at the end of the night and divided between everyone who worked that day, percentage based on hours--and we'll figure out a schedule that works for you. Sound good?"

Samantha nodded "Yea it was really weird and pretty creepy, I didn't meet any large youma when I was there, there were some little creatures that I used my magic to frighten away." She listened to Kerberos lay out the work and she nodded "Yea I don't remember my civilian life and that was where everything was having to do with work, so starting from scratch is fine with me. I figure I'll get back into the swing of things quickly enough and I feel like I'm a hard worker." She considered things and then said, "Thank you again for doing this for me." Being able to take care of herself was important to Samantha.

It was strange to even begin to imagine; the Rift was as alien to Keiran as the surface of his planet had once been. (Though, unlike the Rift, he had come to learn his planet well, and it felt like a second home, now.)
"I'm glad you didn't have too much trouble," he said. There was a brief silence, as he thought the situation over. Poor girl, it was hard, starting over. But she seemed to be taking to it well, and there was a freedom in not having the Negaverse whispering in your ear anymore.
"That's about it on my end--do you have any questions for me?" He asked. "And, Samantha--if you ever need help, civilian or magical, please don't hesitate to call me. Whatever kind of trouble it is, even if it seems stupid to you, I'll be there as fast as I can. Okay?"

Samantha considered what Keiran and then said "Thank you I will." Then she frowned "Umm I'm not sure if I can use my old phone and how do I get a hold of you if I am powered up anyway?" She had not learned much about the powered world since she hadn't had a mentor in her time as a corrupt. So she was still catching up on what was going on and what she needed to know.

"We'll probably have to get you a new phone for civilian use," Keiran acknowledged, and then he grinned. "But for your magic phone--I guess your old Nega communicator won't work anymore, but we just have to get you to a Guardian Cat and they'll give you something shiny. Smartphone and everything."
He stood up.
"Meet me back here tonight after closing? Be powered up, and we'll find you a cat to get you that Senshi phone. We can even go look for some ne'er-do-wells doing dastardly deeds, if you want, but we don't have to get straight into that stuff. Just get you used to being on the other side."

Samantha smiled and then nodded "Thank you for all your help." She shook her head "I never got one, I was just kinda left to my own devices after I was corrupted." She laughed "There was no getting to know you meeting." She nodded again "That sounds good, I'll see you tonight then after closing." She said getting up to head back to Embly's house till she had the money to get her own apartment. (Yup Fin XD )
