Dawn had arrived, and approaching the ring with a captive audience now was Lilli who rode on the shoulder of a well-armored man who walked to the stage. An eyepatch covered his left eye yet he seemed to have the path trained so easily as she got off of his shoulder. She smiled and waved at everyone before speaking. "Ladies and captive gentlemen, welcome to the final fight of the Tournament. Vale, this appears to be your strongest and best fighter you have to offer so will he have what it takes to beat the Legendary owner of the tournament?! Everyone... I give you... HEIROKEN!!! LE! DRANNITH!!!" She shouted loudly as the man removed his chestpiece of armor, tossing it to the side as it crashed outside of the arena, kicking up dust as he stepped into the arena. His eyes steeled as Lilli stepped around with a small grin on her face. "Champion of Atlas and leader of the Drannith family, he came here seeking to defy his fate here as he ran physically unbeaten in combat! But can Vale's champion Garret best him alone? Or will Vale be another place to conquer for him?!" She shouted as she sat down and watched as Garret made his arrival.

She grinned while she sat ontop of the steel chestpiece that Heiroken tossed aside, watching as he removed his gauntlets and fauld to be left in just his greaves and pants. "Returning to the arena at the Dawn of the day is Garret Reveley, the man who sought back to back victories against other scrappers in the tournament. He had shown them that just because you know how to throw a punch means naught to someone with effectively three times your punching range with a spear! Can he show the same determination here today against Heiroken as he enters unarmored and unarmed?!" She told everyone with a grin as the ground shook before them. She leaned forward as once Garret entered the ring, there was no hesitation to wait. "BEGIN!"

Heiroken had carried Lilli all the way over to the arena, having left his throne room from waiting. He had seen the battles from the drone's projection screen, but when it came to the last battle, he chose to not watch, wanting to see his opponent as a surprise. As he removed his armor he had wore to start the day, he could see Garret approaching the arena, soon removing his eyepatch to reveal he still had both eyes. He cracked his neck as he approached towards Garret while Lilli spoke. His eyes focused upon him with a knowing smirk as he slowly outstretched his hands to his sides, elbows bent as he spoke. "To think I'd be fighting a twin lancer. I've fought a single one and now to fight a twin lancer will make for an interesting battle. Show me your determination and do not intend to bore me, otherwise, I will not hesitate to command my troops to release the Grimm." He warned Garret as once she shouted for the battle to begin, he ducked his head low and began to run.

It was an obvious start that he was a slow runner, but the way he ran, head low, hands outstretched to the side, and a narrow focus on him made it clear to Garret he was waiting for how he would respond to a slow running approach. If absolutely nothing was done, and Garret instead chose to wait, Heiroken would charge in for a quick right thrust palm, his right foot stomping forward to add oomph to the strike as he attacked with his full body. Yet his attention wouldn't be entirely consumed during his attack. If Garret instead tried to initiate the attack towards Heiroken, a thrust would have Heiroken surprise Garret with a fast grab and redirect of the spears. A slash would have been swatted to the side to hit nothing but air. If it was both, he'd only managed one and have to tank the other and he was more likely to grab the thrust while his aura protected him from cuts.

Garret had spent his time between his final match in mediation and planning. He had made it to the final match of the tournament, only to have had it delayed another day. It was time to improve his own strength and recuperate from the prior matches, but Garret still felt it off putting to have such an important thing delayed. Primarily, his pride had issue with it as he felt he could still fight and best the final opponent; even if wisdom prevailed as this being necessary given his opponent had not fought the day prior as far as he was aware. 'All of this just to fight the strongest among us...' Garret had puzzled over and over in his mind during his reprieve. Threatening to unleash Grimm onto the city of Vale all for a fight was not something he could understand. 'One of us shall fall on the 'morrow, and it shall not be I,' he asserted to himself. He still had a vow to complete before the possibility of death would be allowed. He would sharpen his weapons now, and ensure they were fully functioning. He could not afford for any malfunctions or errors from his equipment before the match had even begun. The stakes of the next match were also far higher than the prior ones; the limitations had been lifted. Their own life was potentially at stake now; he hoped his opponent was ready for that and would not try anything shifty. He recalled his training with the knight that took care of him, when he had finally realized the full importance of knowing how to fight. All the battles since that stage, be it in failure or victory, and his upcoming one now. And the many more to come when he survived and triumphed. Not allowing doubt to creep into his mind, as to do so would be to plan out his own demise. With such thoughts in mind, Garret would slumber till the next day; as much as he could with the anticipation and weight of what was to come at least.

As he walked into the arena, he took stock of his own weaponry. His dust supply had been diminished by the prior matches, save the one bonus one from Julin, and he was yet to be fully recovered enough to use his semblance. The former and latter were fine by him; dust was a tool, and semblance a crutch, to those who relied on it. It was why he preferred waiting for us it rather than right away; force himself to fight based off his own merits first and only use it when necessary. His spears, thankfully, had not sustained damage either. He also had twelve total shotgun shells; one in each spear, and the rest on his person. Of the twelve, one was a pale blue dust round; specifically the round loaded in Virtue. As he calmly strode to the arena, he would hear the hostess speak now; speak of the match to come, touting the reputation of the host of the tournament, and seemed to stick rather close to him. Their own entrance together seemed fairly familiar, which was not too surprising. Garret was curious to see him toss away his chest piece, and the eyepatch he wore. 'If he had paid any attention to the prior matches, he knows of my speed and likely finds the armor more hindrance than benefit,' Garret thought to himself. The eyepatch likely meant he had blind spots, and perhaps depth perception issues as well. At least, that was what Garret surmised on his first interpretation; this could all be for show as far as he knew. As Garret neared, he would see the man doff more of his armor and remove his eyepatch to reveal he indeed still had a functioning eye there. 'Why wear it if it serves no function?' Garret wondered, not liking the thought it was merely for appearances sake. As the hostess would speak again, announcing Garret and what he had done so far, his opponent would speak as well. Talking of fighting a lancer in past, and for Garret not to bore him or he would release the Grimm. Garret almost scowled at his words, though his expression seemed none to happy. "Fret not, you shall not be given reprieve in this match. For your sake, I hope you do not disappoint the crowd you so graciously gathered," Garret would respond to the man as the hostess finished and would then say begin. Seeing the man take off charging to him, and given his prior words which he figured meant no passivity, Garret decided to meet the charge.

Heir in right hand, and Virtue in left, he would charge his opponent; noticing quickly that the man was particularly slow in his own charge and that Garret was making up most of the distance between them. As his opponent came into range, Garret would initiate with a thrust turned to a diagonal slash with both of his spears at once; intending to make an X-slash-scrape with his spears and follow it up with simultaneously thrusting both right into the man's waist. Virtue would be the spear going from Heiroken's bottom left to his upper right, being above and faster than Virtue which would go from bottom right to top left. During this, both spearheads would be pointed at Heiroken. They would then both come back for a simultaneous thrust to his waist; each spear going at the same speed. During this, Garret's eyes would be locked on his opponent as he tried to watch for how he would react and his hand motions.

Should his opponent try to grab either spear during his slash, he would hesitate a moment before activating shotgun form on Heir. Heiroken would clearly feel the switch as the spearhead would slide back, perhaps cutting into him or his hold, for the barrel to be shown. A moment after, Garret would fire with Heir point blank into him; primarily to try to dislodge his grip and free the spears, along with the very least deal some damage. If dislodged, Garret would slide back slightly from the force and do a quick step up to try to keep up the attack.

If he dodged, Garret would've continued the same motion but tried to redirect it depending on what stage he dodged.

Heiroken's charge was improved with a smile at the response Garret gave him and it was an obvious battle of speed at the start as both men dashed for one another head on. One bare-handed, the other with his spears and it came ahead as Garret seemed to thrust at Heiroken. The hands outstretched to the side were quick to move to try and catch them, but his trained eyes could see the flick in Garret's wrists. The spear heads slipped away from their intended grasping point as the soon came up to slash. Yet Heiroken was not one to falter as he changed the hand positions from grasping into a straight hand, swinging in tandem. He smacked each of the spears just below the spearheads as he was lightly clipped by each of the spears while knocking them off-course and over him. The spears both drew light blood from small cuts to the sides of his hand that he showed no pain from while he threw both hands forward, ducking his head to keep his frame small. The hands were positioned to attempt a strike at Garret's chest and abdomen before he would back-up if the attack hits or if it missed.

After the exchange of charges, Heiroken would look to Garret and spoke calmly. "Interesting start, not many would choose to charge me head on. I can respect that, and I can sense righteous justice behind your spears. I'm intrigued by you." He told Garret calmly while he stood up and began to walk towards him, his hands outstretched once more as blood lightly dripped from the sides of his hands as he popped his neck while walking forward. "You even managed to draw blood, but don't expect that you'll draw more soon." He told him with a smirk while he flexed his hands from their straight state to a clawed disposition, as if he was getting ready for something.

Garret had to give the guy credit; he could adapt on the fly, similar to how Julin was. As Garret had a plan and contingencies with his attack depending how his opponent reacted, so too did his opponent. He managed to change from his own attack to deflect both of his spears, only lightly being clipped by the weapons, and seemed unfazed by it entirely. He even launched his own attack as soon as the motion was through. Garret, having not expected the man to deflect his spears so easily, was caught off guard and open to the attack; lest he drop his spears which he had no intention of doing. The strike to his chest would hurt, and push him back a few feet, but Garret paid it no more mind than that. His opponent would notice Garret's aura was not active as of yet. 'I need to avoid committing too much to the attack,' he noted to himself as he brought his spears up defensively before himself moments after the push. Eyes locked and ready for what his opponent may try next. However, his opponent seemed content to not continue the attack for the moment and instead spoke. He would say he had an interesting start as he had not expected Garret to meet his charge. He also mentioned he respect that and and the righteous justice of his spears, being intrigued by Garret. Garret would narrow his eyes at that, despite the praise. "What do you know of righteous justice, when you are the one who threatens to unleash Grimm upon Vale and keep them as pets?" Garret would ask/challenge the man's words, not amused.

Garret watched as the man came towards him now with bleedings hands outstretched. As he mentioned that Garret managed to draw blood, but to not expect more anytime soon, his eyes would have a gleam to them as his face remained stoic. "We shall see. There shall be more spilled than just blood today," Garret would respond, his words like a promise. This man was a villain in his eyes, no matter how he spoke or what words he said. One who had threatened innocents, and used Grimm as weapons. As such, Garret was not as competitive or friendly as he could be in a fight, especially with the stakes so high. While the man seemed to be readying for something, Garret took the offense again rather than wait. He would lunge forward with a thrust using virtue which was still in shotgun form. But, rather than focus on trying to hit him with the spearhead, his goal was to fire the pale-blue dust round in close proximity at his opponent and have it potentially encase his hands or torso in ice. Regardless of whether it hit or missed, he would follow up with a sweeping slash with Heir from Garret's right to left; aimed at the legs.

Heiroken stared the man down before he began his slow approach once more with his hands outstretched. From their exchange and the man's response, he could clue in as to how the man worked. 'This man is definitely a cut above already from the lancers I've fought, but he was not ready for my attack, lack of Aura was there. He must be on guard now considering I was willing to trade blows. My hands still sting from those cuts but it was a necessary trade-off.' He smirked as he shook his head and began to talk while approaching. "I know a lot about justice and from Mantle and Atlas... Might is the only thing to control Justice." He told Garret essentially where he hailed from and narrowed his eyes as he spoke. He nodded his head solemnly at his promise as he soon shouted. "Then show me the results of your huntsman training!" At his words, the very air around him seemed to shift as his aura flared up violently. His blood was beginning to get hot from anticipation now before he calmed it down.

The time for talking had ended as he watched Garret's body lean forward as if seeing the muscle groups in activation he could see Garret leaning forward, guiding the shotgun-headed spear with his left hand as a thrust, to which a lifting right leg was following suit. Heiroken himself lunged in tandem as he reached out with his right hand, with aura covering it as a shield and a flash of a muzzle, he thrusts his palm towards the muzzle and intercepts the dust coming from it. His hand, wrist, and a good portion of his right hand were encased in ice. He looked to his left in the peripherals as he could see the man following up with a wide sweep with his spear and with a smirk he shouted. "PREDICTABLE!" His right foot that he stomped with flexed along with his left as he retorted with a response to the attack. He swung with his right foot, aiming to kick the shaft of Garret's heir with unparalleled strength from him, and with his right foot in the air, he kicked with his left foot quickly, turning his body quickly to follow up with a swinging reverse roundhouse kick that swung closer to try and kick the shotgun muzzle of Virtue to try and throw Garret off balance. If Garret's balance was ruined by the time Heiroken's right foot landed, his left foot would be pulled back to the ground by Heiroken to try and push the advantage with a small ducking advance to try and uppercut Garret. This all carried on the fact if he managed to stop Heir's momentum with his right foot's kick.

                                                                  User Image

As Garret focused on the battle at hand, his mind would process the words spoken by his opponent. He hailed from Atlas/Mantle, and claimed might was the only way to control/dispense justice. Garret knew not what it was like in those lands, but he disagreed; violence was a way to do so, but not if it was just to carry out ones will or personal definition of justice. When he mentioned huntsman training, Garret was a bit confused but did not let it show. 'It seems he is not so well informed to realize I am not one,' he thought to himself. It mattered not and needed no correction for the time being; he would show the man defeat by the end of this. He could also tell the man's aura was flaring up, but he was committed to going on the attack now. He had to with the earlier threat in mind. Aiming to hinder his opponent with a dust shot, he would see the villain go on the offense as well as he lunged forward. His right hand would strike straight towards the opening of Virtue, and despite an aura shield, be subsequently covered in ice. While encasing less than intended, it still did the job of eliminating one of the mans weapon's for the moment. 'Or strengthening it, should he chose to keep it and ignore its penalties,' Garret thought but it would serve him either way if he kept it or broke the ice.

As Garret would go to follow up the attack with a slash from Heir while trying to pull Virtue back, the villain would yell predictable and act with incredible speed. He would attack with his opposite foot, the right one, and managed to hit just under the blade of his spear to deflect it as the spear was almost wrenched from his own hands by the force. Deciding to go with the force of the blow rather than hold ground, in an effort to keep his spear in hand and not to be left open, Garret would spin in place in a clockwise manner from his own perspective. Pulling Virtue close enough to ensure it would not strike weakly against Heiroken, he would speed up the spin with his own footwork before extending his spears on the return swing for when he would be facing his opponent again. Consequently, it would hopefully allow his Virtue from being hit by the reverse roundhouse kick. "Let me amend that for you then!" Garret would respond swiftly as he went for a simultaneous thrust with both spears towards Heiroken. Knowing his opponent for having a quick recovery, he would have a fail-safe prepped; prepared to fire Heir the moment the man tried to counter or block as he would jump back. It would hopefully pull him and his spears again out of reach and give him some space. If he had managed to create the space, he would speak as he held his spears up defensively as the spearheads would slide back into place over their respective barrels. "Mastering others through might may be strength, but it is not justice. Justice is the right for your will to be heard, strong or weak; command of justice falls to those who champion the will of others because it is just," Garret would respond vehemently as he fundamentally disagreed with his opponent. He fought not for himself, but for others; to honor their memory and carry out their will. He would await now to see how his opponent responded; physically or verbally.

Heiroken's kicks had their intended effect of knocking Heir off to the side, but as he was turning around to do the same strike in a reverse roundhouse against Virtue, he felt nothing but air as he turned to see the man in the process of his own spin. Heiroken grinned as he saw Garret bring his spears close while his own weight came down onto his left foot, he had to change his own plan as well. He kicked off the ground and into a small spin as he moved to the side just enough to evade a double impalement. He landed on his side and as Garret jumped away, possibly without wasting a loaded round with nothing to fire at immediately. He spun back onto his feet, staring him down as he spoke about his philosophy, which caused him to focus on him as he came to a stand. "Champion the will of others for it is just? Heh, what if the will of others is weak and crumbles in your path of righteousness? You need a steady hand to lead the people, and an iron fist to put them in their place!" As he spoke, he brought his left hand up and strike the ice on his right, causing it to fracture slightly just enough for his right hand to clench and break it off as he stared the man down.

'Just as adaptive as I... and with an ideology that counters my own. I must not fall so soon.' He soon pointed his left hand out as he spoke once more. "In 2 hours most people will be up, getting their breakfast to start the day. If you cannot beat me then come tonight their breakfast of choice would not be the only things to come back to haunt them." He told the man as a few feet behind Garret a ring appeared, invisible to the naked eye yet it seemed to have no real presence to make it noticeable immediately. Once the ring was set, he began to charge towards Garret, his hands moving with him as he ran towards Garret. If Garret jumped back, he would be affected by the semblance of Heiroken to launch him back towards the very man at a high speed, with which Heiroken would capitalize with a hard straight punch to Garret's heard and knock him into a tail spin before kicking him away. If Garret jumped to the sides or attacked, Heiroken would chase after him and prepare to counter or guard against the ranged thrusts of his spears.

As Garret pulled off his own dodge and counter, his opponent predictably was able to adapt swiftly. His own strikes met air as the man had executed a quick dodge to the side while Garret took the chance to move back and create some space. 'I need a way to limit his movement, but how can I do so without likewise limiting myself,' Garret pondered quietly. His semblance was almost ready to go again, but even then the issue persisted; hopefully his increased speed would help at least. While he did not use a shot, he still sheathed the barrels of both his spears for the time being. Slashing strikes were not doing him much good at the current time, and it left an unnecessary vulnerability to it. His opponent, to their credit, did not press the attack as Garret spoke. Instead, he would counter that it would not work if others wills were too weak, and that it was better to rule with a steady hand alongside an iron fist. 'So that is how he thinks,' Garret thought to himself as he watched Heiroken's movements; for now he was only breaking the ice from his hand in a display of strength. It was a pity Garret was unable to capitalize on it, but he would make do. Heiroken would then point his left hand out and put a definite counter onto their match; two hours to defeat him or the Grimm would be unleashed. Garret's face would darken at the words; he highly doubted the fight, or any fight, would take that long. Despite that, he still did not like the threat.

Locking eyes with his opponent, he watched as Heiroken would charge him seeming to aim to punch him. He doubted the man was doing as simple an attack as that; nothing had been straightforward in his attacks thus far. His eyes were searching for an opening or weakness he could use to his own advantage. The only thing he knew for certain was the man was not the fastest in closing the gap, so Garret still had reach. However, rather than go for the attack at this moment he did not want to meet him head on again; it was like going up against a wall. Garret made a move to dodge back; which unfortunately made him fall into his opponents trap. Unaware of the ring, Garret would find himself going in the reverse direction of what he wanted. Some force had launched him right back at Heiroken, and into his fist as he was hit hard in the head. Surprised by the sudden turn of events, he could do little to react. While his aura held, it was followed up with a kick that sent Garret crashing away from the man. Sliding for a second or so before coming to a stop, hands clenching his spears, Garret gritted his teeth and pushed himself back up. Thankfully, Garret was not sent right back into whatever pushed him; keeping in mind it was somewhere to his right. He could barely see the faint outline of a ring there before it faded. 'So he has a few tricks of his own,' Garret thought as he pushed himself to his feet. As he rose, he would stay facing Heiroken and spit on the ground between them. "An interesting trick, but I will not fall for it twice," Garret would say as he would pull the arm with Virtue back and launch the spear at Heiroken's head. While the spear was in the air and headed to his opponent, his right hand would grab a large green dust and toss it towards the ground in front of Heiroken; intending to have it activate on impact and have vines grow to try and ensnare him in that area. Regardless of if his plans worked or not, he would prepare to charge the main with some ideas in mind depending what he did. If Heiroken was going to play with tricks, then so was Garret.

Heiroken's trap had it's success as he managed to get Garret to dodge back into it. The attack landed hard, hitting his aura shielded head and throwing Garret into a standing tailspin before kicking Garret off to the side and away. He stood there, smirking as his own limbs were coated in aura as even though he could've tanked it, the body was flying at close to 20 mph so the damage would've not been worth it. He watched as the man began to get back up, now aware of Heiroken's semblance as he spat on the ground between them. "Good, it would be a shame if you did." Heiroken warned him as he started his slow approach again, giving him time to breath before Heiroken watched his foe as close as he could. Virtue was flung at Heiroken, and with his own reflexes, he caught the spear and aimed the head up since he too was aware of the shotgun form it had. But Heiroken was so transfixed on the spear's launch, that he was distracted and found his legs wrapped up quickly in vines.

He grunted and tried to pull his legs away as he saw the man approach. He could try and make the circle above him, but that would risk self-damage more than be beneficial. So instead, he fipped Virtue about and started to use the blade of it to try and cut the vines off of his legs as quickly as he could!

Garret's plan had worked; anticipating Heiroken could only respond to one of the things he threw at him. While he had caught Garret's spear, which was something he had not intended on, the dust had managed to land and ensnared his foe's legs in vines. Having been prepared for either a hit or to ensnare him, Garret was already rushing forward to his quarry. He saw Heiroken fail to break free before he would desperately go to hacking away at the vines in an effort to free himself. Moving Heir to his right hand, Garret would quickly slap some lightning dust to it to add a bit more of a kick to his spear since the man loved to deflect his weaponry. 'Time for trick two,' he thought to himself. As he closed the gap, Heiroken would see Garret's aura flare in a familiar way if he had been watching one of the earlier matches. As it flared red in an almost fiery manner, Garrets appearance would begin to change; his eyes would go to match that of his aura, and his hair would change color. His semblance had been activated, and his speed would triple from what it was before. Distance closed in mere moments, Garret would attack his opponent; first with a sweeping strike with the blunt end of Heir to attempt to deflect/move Virtue from the current attempt of freeing Heiroken/defending himself. As he did so, his body would move with the slash to quickly spin in a circle to have his spear back in front and to his opponent before he would follow up with an overhead slash aimed to hit Heiroken neck; between shoulder blade and his head. If he were to make contact, Heiroken would feel a jolt of electricity as he would be zapped by the dust imbued to Heir for the time being. To those looking, Garret's hands were almost a whirring blur as he handled the spear; each movement fluid and meant to flow from one to the next. While he primarily fought with two spears, he was just as accustomed to fighting with only one and the benefits it had as well. If Heiroken were to attempt a counter during this, Garret would use the middle of the shaft of the spear to block/deflect it while trying to get the opening to pull off the attack he desired. Regardless of if his attack would fail or not, Garret would jump backwards and aim his spear towards his opponent. "Prepare thyself. It would not be satisfying if I defeated you at anything less than full strength," he would say, pausing his assault for a moment for Heiroken to free himself/prepare for the onslaught. His sense of honor kicking in, even for an opponent such as him. 'This way his defeat will be a message to all that evil shall not triumph,' he thought to himself. Once Heiroken seemed ready, Garret would taunt him. "Come at me with everything you have, Old man," was what he would say as he held his spear with both hands. He had gone on the offensive plenty of times already, it was Heiroken's turn. Garret was also hoping, should he take the 'bait' that being more on the offensive would leave him open now. Breaking past the man's defense was his primary concern.

Heiroken grunted as he was trying to cut himself free while Garret charged at him. His focus wasn't too much on the man with spears, as it was now on trying to escape the entrapment before Garret closed the distance and in the small moment, he could see that aura flare he saw earlier. He wasn't trained in the art of spear combat himself and wasn't prepared for the man to strike the spear he held, knocking it to the side and away and imbalancing Heiroken before the overhead slash came down. With his right hand free since the spear was knocked off with his left hand, he brought his hand up to block the spearhead with aura, a confident smile on his face as he soon noticed the yellow shard. He took the hit head-on with aura, lightning coursing through his body as he gritted his teeth. Garret was quick to withdraw from the attack, the honor in him giving Heiroken a chance to recover and come at him with full strength, which he used to cut himself free and step out of his entrapment. He was silent for the moment as he looked at the man and soon tossed Virtue to the ground. 'He's fast... almost faster than my reflexes. But from what I've seen... it's temporary. 'Can I outlast it?' is the primary question I need to answer.' Heiroken thought as he took a deep breath, steeling himself as he entered a horse stance and resumed his primary stance. "Very well, if you wish my full strength, I'll beat you down once forward!" He shouted as that aura ring appeared moments before him, he took a step through it, his body rocketing towards the man at high speed with his left leg and left arm stretched out for a knee or a clothesline to attack him with.

                                                                  User Image

While Garret knew he could've pressed the attack and perhaps attained victory, it was not in him to win on 'unfair' means; even if dust were a valid and useful resource in this battle. The only way to stop him and others like him was to beat them on relatively fair ground, so they could not later believe it was due to a fluke or luck that they lost. Still, despite his advantage, Heiroken was proving to be a turtle with how defensive he could be. Garret's guard break, while leaving him open, was not fast enough to stop him blocking it with a aura-covered hand. Thankfully, the electric dust helped ensure the attack was not wasted. Upon giving him a moment reprieve, he would find Heiroken silent as he cut his way free. He likely had not expected Garret to relent and allow him to prepare himself. 'Let us see how he uses this time,' Garret thought to himself as he saw him throw Virtue to the ground between them. The man knew Garret's abilities, or should have, but Garret let it remain there for now. It could be useful on the battlefield rather than in hand; and Garret was eager to do something different by using one spar instead of two, when by all battles and accounts Garret was a two spear combatant.

As Heiroken readied himself into a stance of sorts, Garret would calmly do the same; holding Heir with both hands. Finally, his opponent would speak that he would give his full strength and beat him down. Smiling at the challenge, and eager to show Heiroken how the side of righteousness wins, Garret would mentally prepare for the attack. Quickly, he noticed a ring appear between them and was momentarily confused; having remembered running into one and the effects earlier. However, by his declaration and sudden surge forward, Garret saw it working to close the distance rather than create it. The surge of speed was sudden, but Garret saw an opportunity for defense and a counter. He was going to spear the man as they did with boars; one of the reasons spears were used for the hunt. Stamping Heir to the ground and angling it to the man, Garret would hold firm and fast to catch him on his spear. The man's sudden speed should work to Garret's advantage, hopefully, as he focused on keeping his spear steady and firm so it would not by knocked to the side or bypassed. Hopefully at least. 'Break upon my will,' he thought as he stayed firm.

But he was prepared for impact of any kind so... the spear caught Heiroken's abdomen, stopping his advancement so suddenly as his arms flung about towards Garret's body. However, the effect was indeed a ruse as Garret himself could see his body flash with aura on the dead center point of the spear, absorbing the damage directly while leaving the body mostly unharmed. The arms as they flung about were attempting to grab ahold of Garret's pauldrons and aim to bring him forward while the spear remained firm where it was. The intent? An obvious headbutt against the man as his eyes temporarily showed white, an intense fury burned within him as Garret himself was evolving to his own style, so he had to adapt to try and get some sort of grounded sort as if he managed to land a strike to Garret's head with his own, Heiroken would try to keep a firm grip and lift Garret up, namely to try and wrench him from his spear and throw him high into the air as best as he could. At this point in time, since Heiroken himself was without dust, the announcer of the battle was getting antsy and started to take out some of the hidden dust inside of the bot that lifted her up. She was waiting for a go-a-head from their boss, since Garret had been using dust like this.

                                                                  User Image

Garret held fast and firm in the few seconds before his opponent would impact his spear. Not enough time was left to do anything else as time seemed to be going slightly slower for him to take in the details of things. Perhaps an errant thought or two as adrenaline was coursing through him, but none that took any significant form. He was hoping his spear would impale his opponent and end the fight, though he highly doubted it would be so easy. As Heiroken made contact, Garret would see a flash of aura centered on where the spear made contact; 'It would have been too simple for it to break here,' he thought. He did notice the mans arms fling forwards as well though as they were reaching for him. Trying to hold the man back with the spear, Garret would try to move to keep out of reach but his own bracing made it hard. He did not want to let go of his spear to his opponent as well. Keeping his right hand on the spear, his left would move out to intercept one of Heirokens hand from getting to his shoulder; potentially locking with it to try to keep it at bay. Heiroken's other hand would find purchase on his pauldron though. As it did, his head would go forward to slam into Garrets; Garret noticing the mans eyes seemed white in fury before impact. While he had aura up, the force of the impact did make him take a half-step back. His left hand holding back Heirokens faltered for a second but would recover as Garret would have Heir unleash an electrical burst to Heiroken before relinquishing his hold of it and calling Virtue to his right hand instead. With Heiroken now right in front of him, Virtue would be behind him and could deliver a strong hit with its shaft due to proximity; potentially hitting Heiroken in the back of the head or the arm depending how he was positioned. This would give Heiroken an opportunity, however, to break past Garrets grip and potentially lift him to throw him if he was still going with that plan.
