Fall Fatigue (4): As the year winds down, a nasty ‘bug’ is being reported. In this new fall chill, people are reporting feeling particularly drained and fatigued. Scientists are puzzled because up to 25% of the city has reported experiencing this unnatural fatigue--and, more than that, the strange, foggy memory loss that accompanies it. It’s probably just a product of the season that people report seeing strange colored people and weird costumes before passing out. Most people make it back home and crash for twelve or more hours, so this isn’t a health crisis--just an inconvenience. Destiny City asks that you eat a balanced meal, get a lot of rest, and take care of yourself.
Ilse Renier wasn’t sure what had gotten into her lately.
Getting sick wasn’t a new concept, but Ilse was a person who took good care of herself, or at least, that was what she liked to think, anyway. Sure, she was a ‘gamer’, but she wasn’t like those stereotypical gamers, who never showered or who only ate junk food and stuff. Ilse, rather, ate a well-balanced diet, recommended by a professional nutritionist, the best money could buy, practically! She didn’t stay up late, only patrolled in short bursts of time, and did her best to… not associate with the common riff-raff, as best as she could, anyway.
So, then, why was she feeling so… under the weather, so to speak?
Distantly, Ilse tried to trace back the events of earlier today, as well as the past week in itself, to attempt to piece together clues from her routine that may have led to her current predicament. She’d gone out for food, yes, but she only went to the high class places for dining out- nothing but the best for a highborn lady such as herself, after all! She’d also gone to pick up more material for a costume she was paying someone to make for her, but it wasn’t as if the unwashed masses frequented craft stores. Ugh, just trying to think back on what she could have done to have fallen ill was enough to give her a headache, to be honest. Thing was, it wasn’t as if she’d ever really broken from her usual routine, either. There was nothing she could recall that would have led to a sudden illness.
Well, as fatigued as she was, at least she had the energy to scroll online, through her social media feeds on her phone. It seemed that there was some sort of bug going around, quite possibly caused by the winter chill, though some people were reporting sightings of strangely dressed people, as if that had any correlation to a sudden sickness spreading around. Nor did it do anything to make Ilse feel any less miserable about, well, her current miserable state of being. Strange costumes and strangely colored people? Were they talking about senshi, or what? Then again, it wasn't as if she entirely cared as to the source, just for the cure.
As she lay in bed, waiting for the maid to bring her the soup she had requested, Ilse pondered, if only for a moment, if it really was some sort of seasonal bug, or if it was a targeted attack. In the end, she came to the conclusion that she really didn't care, because to dwell on it for too long would be to dive into conspiracy theory territory, and Ilse wasn't interested in that. Starting shipping discourse online, yes, that was something Ilse lived for, but, debating if there was anything more to this bug than perhaps a drop in temperatures that came with the changing of the seasons? Not so much.
She'd just... sleep it off, leave it for someone else to ponder about, at least, after the maid brought her what she requested.
