Her family and those she considers like family, even if they are not related by blood or they are related by blood but she has no memories of her past life under their care. She feels particularly indebted to her parents and the parent-like figures in her life. «

Saving Nyx from the horror that is hell. «
Though she does not remember her prior life, she wishes to pay respects to her deceased human father and take care of her aging human mother. After all, though she may be reborn now, she would not be reborn to begin with had they not given birth to her and raised her as well as they had. «
She's still just a kid, basically. Technically, a teen, but that's young enough. A large part of her wants to enjoy her life as just a kid/teen in the Grey Zone and get all sorts of experiences about that. «
To spread even just a little more kindness in the world in her short stay in the Grey Zone, be it through example or protecting those who are kind. «
                  : Fears
Hell, demons, and sins. She dislikes them so much because she fears them. «
Bugs, insects, and other creepy crawlies. She should be kind to them... but she just doesn't like them! And she's too nice to kill creatures that have done no wrong but exist in the same vicinity as her, so she has no choice but to panic! «
Failure of her mission, for it would mean failing to protect Nyx, wasting the opportunity her teacher sacrificed everything to give her, and also... losing most all of the precious memories she has made in these short 18 years of her life. «
                  : Personality
Passionate and stubborn. Naive and straightforward. Positive and optimistic. Mira is an open book with zero contradictions. She strives her very best to do what is good and greatly admires kindness. However, for all the effort she puts in to be the ideal angel, she has a roughness about the edges that cannot be shaken or shaved off. Quick to resort to a fight and a temper that's even quicker than that, Mira's... preferred method of problem resolution often comes down to... a very delinquent-like approach. If she can't get someone in the wrong to see the right, fight them. If she sees a bully, fight them. If someone hurts someone she cares for... You got it! Kill them! Wait, what? No no no. Fight them. Just fight them, Mira. Noooo killing.

Well... Regardless, Mira has it on the orders of several reputable Guardians that she is not to harm and definitely not to kill anyone in the Grey Zone. Mira is a good girl, so she will obediently follow these orders. Therefore, for the most part (except for those times when she thinks she can get away with it), Mira's delinquent ways are reduced to pouting up at the offender, stomping her foot, and flexing on them in non-violent competition.

For all that, however, Mira's appointment as the Guardian of Kindness's successor and subsequent appointment as the Guardian of Kindness wasn't wholly forced. Despite her proclivity for violence, she has a just as strong proclivity for what is good, and especially for what is kind. Though it may be hard to see through her hot headed antics, she cares deeply for just about anyone who isn't a bad person. This is, naturally, strongest for those she knows, but ultimately applies even to complete strangers. She cares most, of course, for those she looks up to, and these people are the good and the kind she is so attracted to. For them, her kindness shines brightest, and in shining bright, it burns those who dare to harm such people. She will protect the kind with all her might, fighting the hardest for those who cannot bring themselves to fight on their own behalf yet deserve to be fought for.

Mira is but a child, in both angelic and human terms, and like many children she is over zealous and over energetic. No matter what it may be, she puts her all into it, including all of that zeal and energy. However, whether it be a bright smile or furious scowl, what ultimately hides behind Mira's exuberance is a child that is confused, who doesn't even realize she's lost.

                  ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

                  "Mira Hart Scarborough"
                  "Our beloved little miracle."
"May God's Gift return to heaven from whence she came."
The dates given upon the tombstone span 16 years and end 19 years ago.

A blonde teen stared intently at the tombstone, her tombstone, while the green haired woman besides her smiled as she always did. The slightest movement, as if done without thinking, rung the bells upon the older woman's wrist once she had felt her young student had observed her grave for long enough.

Mira Hart Scarborough blinked at the sound of the familiar bells and looked up, meeting smile with an… expression that honestly didn't know what to make of itself. Curiosity, gratitude, surprise, and a general sense of uncertainty on how to react when faced with her own grave. "This is…" she started to ask if this was her grave, before pausing, trying to think of a more useful question that asking what she already knew. "Does bringing me to my grave also serve a purpose?".

"Only as much of a purpose as you give it," scarlet eyes smiled down gently upon their protégé, "I've already passed down to you everything I could to prepare you for what is to come. I only thought seeing your own grave might be interesting." How woefully little what has been passed that was, but it was the most that could be done within the few short years given. Understandings of the fundamentals. Capitalizing on inborn talent for combat. Perhaps most importantly, igniting that first spark of free will and thought, the ability to stray from the beliefs engraved upon all angels. Though, Mira remained very much engrossed in serving His will.

Mira's eyes returned to staring at the hefty stone, feeling it surreal that she stood in front of it while the body she once called her own lay somewhere beneath. Right next to her grave, another grave with the Scarborough surname could be found. To the other side of her grave, an empty plot of land lay. True, it was as her teacher said. She already knew everything she could know of this situation.

She had died but a short 19 years past at the tender age of 16, the victim of an unfortunate traffic incident when she leapt to save a little boy's life. The boy survived. Unfortunately or fortunately, she did not. In the years that followed, she would lose one parent to natural causes while another remained on this zone in a natural decline. These, the manner of her death and that state her parents were all she really knew of that past life other than the occasional floating memory to resurface. A well-dressed man of browns and golds who could smile kindly at her like she was his own daughter. Family dinner with her elderly parents. A sweet 16 birthday. A first kiss with a bitter taste. Days spent playing hooky with a baseball bat and friends.

Such memories were ephemeral, however, fading before their knowledge could be gleaned. Her time in heaven meant far more to her than her past life. The family she had made of the other guardians, a reaction her teacher had explained as a coping mechanism for having died so young, was more precious to her than her parents of before. However, she could not find it in her heart to completely ignore the past of her last life.

When last Mira followed the good doctor, her teacher's role in the Greyzone, to see her remaining Grey Zone parent, laying drearily in the hospice, she was given a question, "What will you do?". To which, she gave an answer immediately upon seeing her ailing parent, "Help her." She would acknowledge a past she could barely remember because, despite gaining nothing from it now, she could not ignore the kindness she received back then nor the filial duty she had to her parents.

Standing in front of the grave of one parent and the grave-to-be of another, though, she felt like there was more she could have given as an answer. The hole that grew in her as, staring upon the proof of her parent's death, she contemplated what the loss would have felt like had she remembered gnaw at her from the inside out. Mira clenched her teeth and pulled on the hem of her shirt as she felt the loss of something treasured before even knowing of it.

Though she knew speaking of this now would only hurt her student more, the teacher could only smile softly as time would wait for none, "Very soon, I will have to leave you as well."

Mira's head whipped to face her teacher's calm scarlet irises with her own scared golden hues. A clench shut of the eyes then a vigorous shake of the head and she was looking back up with a normal expression. Of course, this was nothing to be shocked at. She was well briefed on the procedure for succession. What her ascending the ranks as the new guardian meant for the old. She must not waver for her duty.

The teacher chuckled, elegantly bringing up a hand to delicately cover her mouth. This short reprieve was all she would give before continuing what would be her final lecture.

"We are bound by duty to God and His will, and as such, we shall seek no higher calling than to aid Him. It is why He gifts us with a clean slate when we are reborn, to wash us of our pain and sorrows so that we may all the more purely dedicate ourselves to Him."

This being said at first was all scripture, the doctrine by which the angels lived and breathed. However, the Guardian of Kindness did not make the choices she did nor did she reawaken in her successor to a remnant of the past once erased, undoing God's own work, simply to spit out doctrine. Still, such things needed such needless preamble, for God may not be omniscient, but he had eyes and ears in many places.

"The Grey Zone will teach you many things that will make you stronger and give you many experiences that will make you wiser. May you see all that there is to see and remember all that there is to remember, so that should such times come, you may decide your own choice and create the change you wish to see with your own hands and feet."

That smile never changed, shining gently and soothingly whether she spoke of free will or as one of her position should. Who could say if this green haired guardian thought these things separate or the same. Regardless, by the end of this week, it would no longer be her thoughts on this subject that mattered. She should, as much as she can in what little time she had, spoil and comfort the young one who would have to bear this burden all too soon.

"You will have Kelev and the other guardians, and for that, I feel less anxious of the day when I cede my responsibilities over the Virtue of Kindness to you."
