As much as he tried to listen, Bernard had not gotten as much information as he had wanted. And he was distracted by his rumbling belly while doing so, which made it that much harder to pay attention. So he had left on his own to get away and find a new napping spot. After had had gone home and gotten cleaned up. And now it was a few days afterwards and while the sun was setting, Bernard was cozied up to a tree in a park, undisturbed by the nature around him, until a leaf had decide to attack his nose and he had to wake up and remove it. As much as he loved nature, there was also things he did not like about it so much. He wasn't worried about the aliens, yet. He didn't feel any alarm to do so. They sounded as though they only wanted energy for the one weapon and then that was it, not to continue draining. So he had found himself very relaxed, except for the rude leaf, when he was suddenly awoken by the presence of another. He looked around to see if he could find them, still on his back with his belly showing. It definitely was not because he had a hard time flipping over. It was just because he didn't want to expend the energy go fully move his body, that was all. Noir Songbird random start, this does not have to stay as a regular!

Caelyna had begun to explore, to learn what she could about this strange new world she found herself on. They had so many potential allies to parley with, and so many humans to observe, and all of it was important! So she was wandering the city's parks, but doing it with care--her ComTech was always within reach, and she was well and prepared to call for backup, and hiding in her human guise, she was sure she could blend in.
But she couldn't help herself when she spotted the adorable sleeping Mauvian--her face lit up, and she moved over to him, kneeling down and blinking.
"Hello there," she said, cheerily.

Bernard's eyes slowly fluttered open. He thought he had heard a voice directed at him, but wasn't quite sure. And besides he had been sleeping quite peacefully until he was interrupted. When his eyes finally set on the one looking him over, it appeared to be one of the aliens that had recently arrived on Earth. Bernard couldn't be bothered to turn over yet. He needed to see if this conversation would require him to actually move his body. He smiled, his fur-stache curling. "Hello. I don't believe we have met and I wasn't able to talk to many of you." He wondered if he should attempt to protect his stomach. Well, he would just have to try flipping over if need be. "Is there something you need Miss?"

This Mauvian was so fascinating to Caelyna--well-fed, lazy, and clearly content. There was a part of her, the part that sometimes didn't want to get out of bed when she needed to and wished she could have an extra snack or two even though that was detrimental to the mission, that would have loved to have the luxury to behave that way.
But she didn't, and so she could only admire this decadent creature.
"We haven't, no. I'm Cadet Caelyna," she introduced herself, voice low so as not to attract too much attention. She'd observed humans talking to Mauvianss and the Earth-Mauvians they called cats before, and so she assumed this wouldn't be too odd, but she still didn't want to attract too much attention. "I just wanted to talk to you I haven't had a chance to speak to a Mauvian before, and it's part of our mission here to get to know our allies. So if you have a little time, I'd like to ask you some questions sir."

Bernard sighed. If she truly wanted a conversation, it would be best to be off of his back. And so he attempted, with great effort and a lot of grunting, he managed to get halfway. He completed the roll after finding some footing in the dirt with the side that he was currently resting on using his paws. After about a minute he had finally fully rolled himself and took a breath before continuing their conversation. "Cadet Caelyna, nice to meet you. I am Bernard. No title at this time." And probably ever, though if he did have one it was probably before his memory had been erased. He lifted a paw out to her. "Ask away. I may not answer all of them depending on the question," He did like to keep some privacy after all, "but I am willing to help you to the best of my ability."

Watching him try to roll himself over, Caelyna felt as if she ought to help--but she didn't want to accidentally offend him, and so she folded her hands in her lap, waiting for him to get himself up on his own. The rules of social conduct were still strange to her, and she wanted to avoid causing unnecessary friction.
"A pleasure, Bernard," she said, cheerfully. "I'm quite lucky to run into a Mauvian, I think. And please, if any of my questions are too personal, jut tell me so--I'm terribly curious, but I wold hate to offend," she offered. "But, ah, firstly: is it true that Mauvians have an affinity for technology?" If they did, that sounded like they might be an excellent resource for Velencya. "And also, in what ways do you serve Senshi? I know there is a connection, but not the details, entirely, I'm afraid."

His fur-brow lifted on one side with her questions. Perhaps not personal, but quite it was thought she was fishing for specific information. Especially with the connection question. "Hmm... We do have an affinity for technology yes. But before I answer your second question, I must ask you one. Why do you want to know? That seems to be an awfully specific question?" He said, his fur-stache curling upwards a bit. "I'm assuming you have to get to know us more, but this appears to quite personal. I don't mind answering those, but I would like to know why."

Caelyna bit the inside of her cheek, thoughtfully. Was it safe to tell him? Perhaps.
"...I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude," Caelyna said. "It's just...we're looking for our Senshi. Sailor Velenia." Her smile was soft, and fond, and a little mournful. "We've been looking for them for a thousand years," she said, "and I was hoping, maybe...while we're on Earth...that we might be able to find them again? And maybe you Mauvians can help us?"

Bernard waved a paw at her. "You are not being rude miss. I just want to make sure that it is something that the Negaverse may not know. Unfortunately, as much as I trust you, we don't always have the luxury of believing we are alone." He said with a sigh. "I am sorry it's taken so long to find your Senshi. However, only Mauvians can make the pens needed in order for a Senshi to awaken." He shrugged his kitty shoulders as best he could. "If there is another way, I do not know of it. Even we Mauvians, those of us who originally came from our home planet, do not have memories of such a time or technology." He frowned a little, his fur-brows coming together. "Why such a technology is needed to awaken magical powers is something I wish I understood."

Caelyna nodded, thoughtfully. It was true, there were always risks. She had heard so much about the supposed dangers of this Negaverse--certainly she never wanted to cross their path.
"Thank you," she said, genuinely, after he explained. So a Mauvian was necessary for the Awakening of a Senshi--well. That was important information. "I appreciate it very much. Do Mauvians know the identities of all Senshi Awakened on Earth? Is there some sort of database? Or anything like that?"

This time he really was surprised and both of his fur-brows went up. He supposed that was enough to answer her already. "Do you have a database of your people from where you are from?" He wanted to gauge if it would be a natural thing of her to ask or if the question was so specific because the aliens had perhaps already been told something. He sighed. "My reaction most likely told you enough, but you can assume that if we have one, so does the Negaverse. Though I doubt that either are 100% accurate. There are... changes that may need to be made that we are unable to get to in time and other such things. And it depends on the individual Mauvian as well." He knew he had been quite... forgetful in that regard.

"Well," Caelyna said, frowning, "we have records--but there also aren't very many of us. We're a very tiny planet." She shrugged her shoulders. "I suppose Earth must be much bigger, and it must be much harder to keep track of things. It sounds like you Mauvians do quite a lot of work!"
She stood up, dusting her uniform off.
"I won't take up any more of your time, sir. But thank you for what you could tell me, and if you don't mind--could you keep an eye out for a Sailor Velenia? We could really use their help."SSBrosB thank you for the rp! i think we're good to bring it to a wrap? heart

Bernard looked a bit sad. "I see, that is unfortunate. I understand why it is easier to keep records on your people however." He nodded to her request. "It is just an assumption, but all Senshi who are alive appear to come to Earth at some point or another. I'm sure we'll meet your Senshi Velenia sometime." He said with a small smile. He nodded to her again. "Till we meet again Miss Caelyna. I hope to be able to talk to you again." For now though, he was ready to continue his nap. The sun had moved slightly though, which meant that he had to move a few steps over to be in it again. "I'll do everything I can to find your Senshi, but it won't be easy. Don't give up hope though, it will happen some day." He said and moved over to the now-sunny spot, intending to continue his nap. Noir Songbird Sounds good! It's done on my end!
