It's been quiet, peaceful in the world of Tendaji. Many have grown used to the new normal between the Aishans, the Earthlings, and the Kahikinans. Because of this sense of security, a few unsavory folk are taking advantage of the distracted locals.

A pickpocket is on the prowl in the marketplace, and you find yourself involved.

This prompt will be resolved by rolling 1D100.
xxxxx1-20: Oh no! Something VERY VALUABLE was stolen!
xxxxx21-50: While not majorly valuable, you do have an important item taken from you.
xxxxx51-90: A small item is taken and you immediately identify the thief in the crowd.
xxxxx91-100: Not today - you catch the thief in the act.

[ Each participating character in this WE rolls 1d100 and roleplays their reaction. You are also welcome to have your character reacting to this event happening to someone else, if it makes more sense for your character's plot.

Or, even better, maybe your character is the thief - roleplay it out from the perspective of the thief. ]

Zyphire was shopping in the markets, the crowd a testament to all of those who were preparing for the arrival of winter. While autumn was just starting to settle over the lands many of the merchants were preparing to pack up their wares so that they could make the long journey home and settle into the warmer countries for more business or to simply pass the colder months with their families. Zyphire himself was wrapped up in trying to pick goods for his own family, his child barely a toddler at this point, and preparing for winter was something that he truly focused on because he was not certain if he would be spending it with the villagers to help with their first winter in the new area or if he would be returning to the sanctuary. Either way Zyphire was intent upon purchasing a new blanket, an especially soft one made of warm wool that was dyed in fascinating colors for Sylvirah and the baby, and it was almost too easy for a girl to slip her hand into his belongings and emerge with a golden charm.

Thankfully Zyphire was not completely wrapped up in his musings and he immediately felt the shift of weight in his belongings as the hand emerged with his coin purse and the charm. The familiar chime of the bell that was attached to the crescent moon, a trinket from his mother, caught his attention and the Shifter let out a curse before handing the blanket back to the merchant. “Hold this and I’ll be right back for it!” He called out before yelling again after a moment’s thought. “Seriously do not sell that! I’ll not forgive you if you do!” Big threat, right? Either way Zyphire had caught sight of the girl with her short dark blue hair and darting figure that went through the edges of the crowd. Good thing he had plenty of experience from his own years as a thieving teen and it was not surprising when he managed to turn left instead of chasing straight after her so that he could instead run into her in the back alleys that he knew led toward the bottom area of the city, the lower markets where poverty was the most obvious. The council cared about their image to foreigners but those who had lived in the area long enough knew about the lower markets, the hidden areas of Zidel where the less savoury figures of the city resided.

“Seriously?!” The girl huffed as Zyphire jumped down from an upper walkway and landed in front of her. “Could you not?” Her golden gaze narrowed thoughtfully as she glanced about, desperate for some sort of escape. It was fairly obvious that she was not completely experienced at fighting or being a thief but she did try to make herself look formidable as she held out an old knife in front of her. “I’ll cut ya!”

“Uh huh.” Zyphire crossed his arms and raised a brow at her. “How about you return my coin purse and that trinket instead? We don’t have to worry about getting anyone covered in blood while I can at least offer a decent meal while I’m in an okay mood. What about it?”

The girl’s expression faltered as she realized the offer. “But why?” She hissed after a moment, the shock fading into disbelief. “You’ll just call the guards!”

“Nah.” Zyphire gave a shrug of his shoulders. “Not really fond of big burly men, ya know?” The Shifter grinned as he held out a hand towards the girl. “Please? I really had a blanket I wanted to give someone who is far scarier than me when irritated.”

She was trapped and she knew it. Even though Zyphire was talking casually and keeping a calm expression, the Shifter was matching her few steps here and there. Her back was eventually up against a wall and a sigh left her lips as she handed over the trinket and coin purse. “I’m sorry.” She muttered before glancing away. “It just seemed like a good way to get food.”

“Not the best idea honestly.” Replied Zyphire though he smiled as he pocketed his belongings again. “Though you did luck out by choosing me. I’m feeling merciful today and if you help carry some things for me I can at least set you up with a nice meal and a night at an inn before you decide to try and cut someone again.” He couldn’t help teasing as he eyed the knife, the girl’s flush making him chuckle. Honestly he felt bad for her but perhaps a good meal would ease her spirits and get her to talk so that he could maybe find a way to help her. Man he truly was a softie, wasn’t he?
